Nope! Remember from the whole K1 stuff that you can't rely too much on VJ timelines for a totally accurate estimate, so don't let others' timelines worry you too much. They give you the estimate of 90 days, but it usually takes a little less. It's not necessarily about the biometrics, though.. That has more to do with the GC application. We got our EAD/AP approval early because of emergency, but it took us about 2 months to get the actual NOA2 in the mail, which is what it says on here is average. Typically people receive NOA2s for AP/EAD about 60-80 days after filing. You aren't there yet! Give it 3 months, and then if you still haven't gotten it, you can contact your local office and make an info pass appt, but passing 90 days isn't very common (at least that I've seen from user data on here!).
Santy is working odd jobs now and is going to start somewhere full time in January. He really wanted to do carpentry/construction, but he needs a license first, and that won't happen til March BUT he just got his permit and is driving!!!

hey I'm really sorry to hear this....It sounds so stressful....A couple of years ago i lost a pre molar tooth after drunken night out in ocean city! I was so broke from college but so self conscious about my tooth that I was freaking out....I wanted an implant but they were 2000$ so I ended up getting it done at the local dental university it was like 70% cheaper a 4th student with his professor looking over his shoulder ....might be worth a shot??

I think you just go under the dial pad and make the call. It's toll free, so Skype allows the call to be made. Santy was always the one calling because I got sick of it after a week! It's just their regular number!(603) 334-0700

The 21st was only last Thursday. There have only been 2 mail days since then. Most people I see report they take about a week. Hopefully you get it this week and it's something easy you can turn right back around quickly.

I can't quote everyone from my phone so.. Thank you walrusbaby! I hope so, too!
Congrats to RFEs and updates! That's a good thing!!
Though we're usually looking through together, I'm the Allie of the Santy and Allie, LOL! But yes, unfortunately. We're stuck because we NEED the ds160 form completed online in order to get an interview. The embassy has their hands tied. They'd give us the interview, but they need confirmation from the ds160- the one thing NVC is in charge of. Had we known, we'd have done it sooner. No one informed us it needed to be done, so we found out and went to do it on Tuesday, and they told us it's down. As in, what walrusbaby says- it doesn't recognize our case numbers probably because it's overloaded. Therefore we can't access the form. It's completely delaying our interview and medical. and all NVC keeps doing is making more excuses. It's beyond frustrating at this point of the game. We shouldn't have to wait longer after waiting half a year for a noa2.

Got the case number today from a very jolly man with a name that made me giggle for... reasons.
NVC website is currently brain farting so I guess there's no way for me to actually track it yet. Back to waiting I guess.
    Congrats to all approvals

Thanks! I want so badly for you and everyone to be approved. I'm still in a bit of shock that I've been approved. I feel lucky and guilty at the same time.

Have you actually picked a place out in the city itself? I guess for us we had to really consider if it was better to get our license in my own county or just apply elsewhere - this always comes hand in hand with the budget. In the city you'll run into the problem of budget and green space considerations. There are few outdoor spaces (Chase Court is in Mt Vernon specifically) and that's a good judge of how expensive the price point is. You can have fairly amazing weddings at some of the big historical downtown hotels, but it won't be in a green space. Mt Vernon is a beautiful place and I haven't been down there in quite some time. You can take a look at a lot of the weddings on this site http://charmcitywed.com/ featuring real weddings from the city and the county. I know that MICA (the art college) has places for weddings as well. Two other places to think of might be The Rawlings Conservatory or the Evergreen Museum (this could be on the high end for green space). But yes, courthouse and then picking the best venue you like might be a good bet, especially if the license has already been obtained for the city itself.

That's great news!!! It's the same for our consulate, too! It's good because after waiting all this time we want the rest to go by as quickly as possible, hahah! You should be okay for August then, but be prepared to make other plans just in case! You'll be able to get a better estimate once you actually get the NOA2, I'd think!

OMG I had to share this bit of information b/c I know a bit of hope goes a long way! As you can see from my signature/timeline, my NOA1 was October 6th. I got on USCIS to check my case status and no update BUT I decided to punch in the receipt numbers for the 5 cases before mine and for the 5th one farthest from mine, which was a K-1 visa petition (obviously can't tell if he/she is a VJ member) and saw that it was approved yesterday, as in March 17th!!!! So with some luck and positive vibes going out into the universe it could possibly mean that mine will be looked at and approved today!! I wish I could know for sure that that is the case! I guess I'll know tomorrow evening either by email or by punching in receipt numbers before and after mine!!! Here's hoping to the best news!!!

Have you checked your consulate's time frame of scheduling interviews? I know you think 5 months will be enough time, but it may not. You may end up putting down deposits and later being disappointed if you have to cancel. For my fiance & I, August would seem pretty doable realistically since the Ecuadorian consulate only takes maybe a month or two from the NOA2, which I don't think any of us Oct filers will be seeing later than June. However, I don't know how Ireland's consulate is. I've heard a few consulates can take monthssss just to get an interview, and then there are small chances of rejection and having to do another interview. Sometimes applications get stuck at NVC, as well. Happened to an Oct filer at CSC! He was approved a while ago and has been stuck in limbo for months. You never simply know.
Some June filers ended up waiting up to 8 months just for a NOA2, since a small percentage still end up waiting after the majority has been approved. Ireland could take very little time to do an interview, but you should really research that, because you may end up being surprised at how much longer the process still is after the NOA2. NOA2 doesn't equal having the visa in your hand right away. There's still much more (and possibly much more time) to the process than the annoying NOA2!
If you feel like the risk is worth taking and wont lose the money if you have to reschedule, then I would say at least wait until you have a NOA2 to book anything or put deposits. Seriously, it's REALLY not recommended to make solid plans at this stage- not just by us, but by the government, too, hahah!
    Good luck to you guys!!

We booked for 27th of August, but we have an arrangement with the venue to make the final decision by June. So if we decide to postpone because it looks like the visa won't be ready in time they will move it to October for us and just transfer the deposit. All our vendors have been accommodating with the situation too, so no risk of losing out on deposits etc. If we don't make that date it might be a bit disappointing but at least we won't lose any money! So, fingers crossed!

I've written this a million times already so everyone's prob sick of me saying it hahaha. but you do NOT have to plan your wedding around the government! If you want it to be when YOU want and not when the government decides to, then plan it for later! We planned our wedding separate from our civil ceremony because that's all it is to us. Our real wedding will be the church ceremony and celebration with friends and family.
Some people prefer to plan their civil ceremony and wedding in one, but we are doing them separate for several reasons: 1. Money. We'll have time for my fiance to work and save up money before the wedding. 2. Time. I'm not planning a wedding in 90 days! 3. Unpredictability. You have no idea when you're getting the visa, so you really can't plan until you have the visa, which means you really only have the 90 days to plan.. or even less than that. 4. Legal stuff out of the way. I won't have to worry about legal stuff at my wedding! Everything will be done beforehand 5. Enjoying it. I love being engaged and want the time to plan. I don't want to be pressed for time and miss out on this time.
Some people feel more comfortable doing everything at one time and can plan it in the 90 days, but for me personally, I recommend planning your wedding separate from the civil ceremony if you feel comfortable with it! It's up to you, but just remember you don't have to pick a date because of the government's timeline.
    Happy planning!

Ah curfews, yes they are a bit annoying. It really depends on who you ask. There's a place in Kent county that allows you to go until 12am. Gramercy in Greenspring valley let's you go until 11pm I think. Liriodendron in Harford County to 12am. The Cloisters Castle in Lutherville let's you go till 11pm but allows you to extend for a fee. The city will be hard to get around curfew wise.
I moved out of the city many years ago, so we have picked The Wellwood, in Charlestown. It's a historical restaurant that's been around since the 1800s. The wedding is in a lovely park overlooking the river. They provide pretty much everything for us. What was annoying to me is MD law requires you to marry in the county you get the license from. That really restricted choice. Affordability vs looking pretty.

To all of you out there, do not give up hope!
We received our notification in October and checking the USCIS database, our case was APPROVED March 10,2015.
We are really excited for the next step as it has been a long and stressful process.
We know it isn't over yet and still must remain positive and patient, but to all of you out there going through the same waiting process, be strong as you will get your notification before you know it!

We haven't set a date, because they really advise you not to. But we have made our wedding coordinator at the venue aware of our situation. We're doing an outdoor wedding as well, but no canopy. We have an arbor. They do have a reception tent, but this wasn't practical for us, so we're just having a dinner inside. I do worry about bad weather, as you know how it can get in summer. I would of loved to have used Chase Court as a venue but the expense was a bit much and the location for me is far.
I make the joke I'll have to attach a mini fan and a bug spray fan to my garter. ;-)
I really wouldn't make any kind of solid plan at least until you have your NOA2 or you know that file is at the consulate.
