Tracy-->NY got a reaction from mallafri76 in Should we wait until our 2nd wedding anniversary to travel to the US? ir1 vs cr1
I would say the choice is up to you. But entering after your two year anniversary you do not have to worry about the hassle and expense of having to remove conditions, as you will get a 10 year green card. Plus March 15th is less than two weeks away.

as a lpr you should not marry before you enter the US and activate your green card. if you get married before you enter your IV would be void as it was issued to you as being single.
at my interview if I was married was one of the first questions the CO asked and said if I planned to I should not do so before entering the US which is what I did.

Tracy-->NY got a reaction from Michael2017 in Outdated Police Certificate
I just checked my P4 letter which states:
Applicants may need to bring an additional police certificate to the interview. If the following three
items are all true, the applicant needs to bring an updated police certificate to the interview:
? He or she is more than 16 years old;
? He or she obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and
? He or she still lives in the country that issued the police certificate.

From my experience you won't need a new PC. I lived in one other country which was listed on my DS260 and have not lived there since 2008, my interview was this year and by the time of my interview my PC previously provided was over a year old and was not asked to submit a new one at interview.

Can anyone tell me what is in Packet 3. I sent an email to my local embassy today and they advised that Packet 3 was sent since 3 February 2015 but I never received it. They also informed me that Packet 4 was sent via email to my Petitioner's email address since 3 February 2015 but they don't really check email but I have Packet now. My interview is March 17, 2015. Just want to know if I need to email them again to let them know I did not receive it. Thanks.

Tracy-->NY reacted to fbragasilva88 in Living with a minimum wage + part time job
Here and there I have this conversation with my wife. We are already at the NVC stage so I guess in this year my Wife and I are going to live there. She is 19 and always lived with her mom and never worked before, when she turned 18 she came to live with me in Brazil where I already have my stuffs, like an apartment, car and some savings.
We are always wondering how life will be once we move to US.
I work with IT, and I am guessing in the worst scenario I will end up getting, after a couple of months, once I am there, a full time job at a Help Desk or something like this, getting around a minimum wage. That being said I will get per hour 8.25$ and working 40 hours a week I will get at the end of the month around 1.300$ right?
She will start college as soon as we get there and will only be able to get a part time job, at a retail store or something like that. So her income will be around 660$.
I hope this will be a temporary situation, and by the time goes I will get something better than a minimum wage job, because I already have a graduation and years of experience here in Brazil, and I am not bad at what I do. But like I said, I hope this is the worst scenario.
We have been looking at prices, apartments, car and a few other stuffs here and there.
Those are the prices in Vegas of a few stuffs:
Apartment rent: 750$ ~ 900$
Internet: 60$
Mobile: Pay as you go 100$
Groceries: 250$
Medicines: 50$
Gas: 150$
Power: 150$
Water: 50$
Clothing: 70$
Transportation: 250$
This is around 2.000$
Am I forgetting something major? Are those prices realistic? My point of view is that you cannot live comfortably with a minimum wage plus a part time job, but you can live and not go broke!

Thanks Hura, my police certificate expires in April and my interview should be in march should I get a new one.

I think the priority date is earlier than the cut-off because the cut off date is 1 August I think it means only applicant with PDs to 31 July 2007 will be having interviews. good news is you will be in the April VB.

Welcome to the New and Improved Case Complete to Interview Monthly thread.
The list that has been updated has now been moved to a spreadsheet like the one used in the NVC filers thread, I am still updating. But right right all you waiting for interviews are listed.
You can view my spreadsheet Case Complete to Interview Spreadsheet
To update your interview date go here. Case Complete to Interview Form
For New people to the thread please go Case Complete to Interview Form and input your information in the form and it will be added to the form.
Everyone should be clicking on the Portal tab to visit the information for their country. If nothing is there or information needs updating. Update or add.
Its up to all of us to keep this information current, relevant and helpful to others.
Special Note: Different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially know what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings.
Here are some FAQ and other tidbits that may be useful to you. Be sure to visit your countries portal and click on the Consular Information and also Consular reviews.
FAQ
I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?
Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.
How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?
Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month
Do I have to call for my interview date?
NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.
I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?
Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.
Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like El Salvador are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.
I need to change our interview date what do I do?
Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.
What do I need to bring to interview?
When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed. It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen.
Just to remind everyone to revisit the NVC Process Wiki, NVC Process Wiki

The interview letter is divided into separate sections. The one I highlighted in all red tells you what you must bring to the interview (in general). Another section lists all the docs you may have already submitted to NVC along with one-letter codes next to each document (also highlighted in red). There is a third section that gives you the definition of each of these one-letter codes. For example, code "O" next to "3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE" means you submitted that doc to NVC and NVC already sent it to the embassy.

Tracy-->NY reacted to NYjones in February 2015 Interviews
Last I checked (weeks ago) it said at the NVC. The rep told me interview scheduling begins first week of February and is completed by the 16th (this would be for March interviews). It would be nice to know the last set of dates they scheduled for February though. Yes, it would be nice but I doubt possible. I will sit, wait and enjoy the "action" here.
