jen2198 got a reaction from Kristen N in Civil Surgeons who DON'T rip you off [merged threads]
    City: Portland, OREGON
    Clinic: Salem Occupational Health Clinic
    Tel: 503 - 362 5242
Address: 2168 Lancaster Drive, NE Salem, OR 97305
It's in Salem, and hour's drive south of Portland. But, after days of calling the USCIS Civil Surgeon List (mostly out-of-date, and most will only do a full medical), found this clinic in Salem: $20 to complete the relevant vaccinations of the I-693, plus the cost of the two additional vaccinations I need.
Dr Torres' clinic in Portland is temporarily closed. But worth calling to see if he opens up again in the future:

    Hi guys!
My fiancé received his interview appointment letter today, and it is 5 weeks away. I am trying to bring him out for about 4 weeks between then and now, to wait it out, and I am curious as to whether or not anyone has traveled to the U.S. after they had an interview scheduled? He was here for 78 days over Thankssgiving and Christmas, and went back to England on the 14th of January. I was thinking that his interview letter, and a return ticket would be good? He lives with his parents and isn't working (trying to wrap up his life in the UK before the final move haha). Would this cause any problem with the visa, ya think? I'd like to have him here for my birthday, which is the 27th.
    Thanks!

jen2198 got a reaction from usmsbow in NVC have lost our file - any advice hugely welcome
Hiya - thanks for posting, emailing NVC research is a good idea.
And, you're absolutely right - there will be more drama. So not cynical at all.... just realistic!!! We're still chasing absolute confirmation that the USCIS are doing 'something' with our file, everyone we speak to there seems to have a different answer...
Thanks also for the link to the thread - will plug into it. Do hope your application also gets unstuck soon - sending many many good luck thoughts.

Thanks so much for all the replies and help.
We called USCIS as suggested - and really lucky we did - they checked and found that our file had, somehow got overlooked, and they'd not passed it over to NVC.
So, Great news that we don't have to start the application again from the beginning - but bad news that our case has sat 'lost' for the past 10 weeks. Oh my...
Guess the learning from this is the need to keep tracking and following the status of our application. And that, even if we've been told something (e.g. we'd spoken to USCIS weeks ago and they told us our file had been passed on) to still double-check.
Good luck to everyone with their own applications, hope they go well.
And, welcome to a whole HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
