  1. Hi Everyone,

My husband has his AOS interview on Feb. 2nd and I have some questions… if anyone could help… I appreciate it.

In the letter we received, it asks again for his Birth Certificate. We already sent a certified translation with the AOS packet. Do we have to have another certified translation with us? Or a copy of the one we sent will do?

    2. They asked to bring an interpreter if he doesn't speak English.... he speaks some but not fluently and obviously I'm going with him. Do we have to take an interpreter anyway?

    3. The letter states to bring "all documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Resident status", beside the fiancé visa in his passport and all the documents we submitted for his AOS... What else could they mean?

    Thank you for your help.

  2. I was wondering the same thing... how long should we wait before contacting USCIS. My husband's AOS was touched on 8/5... nothing since.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hi there, fellow July filers!

Hope all is good! I'm starting to get worried about my AOS. I haven't been able to check my status online since I got the NOAs. And I haven't received any letter saying it's been transferred or what's going on.

I received the travel doc and the EAD about a month and a half ago though.

Do you have any suggestions? What can I do?

    Thanks!

  3. Hi all,

I'm a bit worried... My husband just received his AP and we're very happy that he can finally go see his family.

Just to give you a quick background, we're both from Iran and he lived in Germany for 9 years... It took us 3 and half years to get his K1 visa because of multiple background checks. He has an Iranian passport with the K1 visa in it.

I've read that people who traveled with advance parole didn't have any problem getting back in the US. I am worried since he has an Iranian passport he might have a problem getting back to US. They might give him hard time to re-enter even with the AP.

The AP states that it has been approved and it's good 'till 10/09. It states he can use it multiple times. What concerns me the most, at the bottom of the letter it states "Parole is not admission into the United States....Parole is not an "admission, so even after your parole you will remain an "applicant for admission." & “Parole into the United States is not guaranteed.”

It even states if you have concerns about admissibility you should contact an immigration attorney...

What do you think? Am I being worried for nothing?

Help please... I haven't said anything to my husband yet... and I hate to tell him he can't go... :(

  4. Congratulations... :dance::star:

    Wooooooooohoooooo ....

We went to the AOS interview this morning ... 1 hour waiting, 15 minutes in the office, a few questions (how did we meet, how long we had known each other, when did we get married, how is married life?) ... more time spent in silence as he flipped through the original I-129F application and AOS documents we submitted. I saw him stamp it approved. He then asked for a copy of the marriage certificate (they seemed to have lost it in the file). He went to photo copy the marriage certificate and our drivers license. When he left the room I told Stephen to look where the approved stamp was (he was like, oh, WOW!). And that was it. He gave us a document explaining in 2 years we would need to apply to lift the conditions and that in three years Stephen could apply for citizenship. It was much easier than we expected. Should have the GC in 2 weeks.

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!

  5. Hi everyone,

My husband received his AP in the mail yesterday... We're soooooo excited. He can now go visit his family after 9 years...He was in Germany before and hadn't seen them since he left Iran... He couldn't believe it yesterday when I told him.:dance::dance:

Wish everyone who is waiting speedy process... hang in there...make that Infopass if you have been waiting over 90 days... it worked for us.

    Thanks for everyonr's support.

    Yasi :star:

Sorry to hear that... but why did you have to travel to Chicago?

I got a call from the immigration officer from yesterday.

They want me to come back because he forgot to ask a few question! :o

#######! We paid $300 to go to Chicago and for the hotel! How are we supposed to do that? :dead:

We had to go there one day early and left the next day after the interview.

  6. We got EAD in the mail on Saturday....

    Thank you!!!

I hope you will!!! I won`t hope for it to be in my mail today because it`s too early for me (since my EAD has just been ordered). Also...uhm... I already saw my mailman today B) ... How funny is that ?( or strange to my mailman  )-> when I know things I`m waiting for are coming, I SEE my mailman in person... well, i mean every time I can  (I`m sure that`s more than enough :goofy: hehehehe )

  7. Congratulations

I'm hopping we get it today in the mail :star:

I`m back and with a great news!!!! My EAD has been ordered!!!! Finally!!!!! :star: Infopass rocks!:P I`m soooooooooo happy!!!!! That`s me now (no joke!)->:dance::dance:

    Steph0814 lets race ! heheheh ;) (I`m stocking my mailman now .... :goofy: )

Yasi, I`m sure you will get it any day now!!! Great!!!!

  8. Thank you for the info... The Infopass I went to for EAD I asked them about AP and she @ S.F. immigration office told me they can't do anything for AP. Also, when you try to make an Infopass, they have only specific reasons that one can choose to go to immigration office.

He needs to travel to see his family who he hasn't seen for 9 years... when you say "you need to travel", how can we show them. When I submitted his case, I put the reason why he needs to travel.

AP should be approved any day now based on your timeline. If you don't get it within 2 weeks, and you have to travel, I would schedule another infopass. If you don't need to travel, they probably won't do anything.

FYI-There are usually 2 or 3 EAD emails:

card production ordered means that they requested that your card be made (you may get this more than once)

approval notice sent is when they actually mail the card to you, so you will get it a few days after they mail it

  9. Thank you... I thought they meant approval notice comes first and then they mail the "card"... it makes sense now..

    Thanks again :star:

Today I checked... 10/28/08 approvale notice was mailed to us... where is the card?

I don't get it... why at first they say the card was ordered... now they say approval notice was sent... this doesn't make sense to me.

Approval Notice it's the card itself.

They are mailing it from KY, so you should have it in a couple of days.

  10. Cool... Congratulations... good luck with job hunting... Disneyland sounds fun

My EAD was finally approved today. My AP is not yet.

Anyways, I am really happy and at the same time, I am pretty nervous about my job hunting.

I am about to go to the HR building at Disneyland:)

My husband's AOS was touched on 8/5/08 after bio was received... and still nothing... I guess it is normal

    I have a quick question...

Darren's AOS was last touched September 23 (ostensibly arriving at CSC). We have heard nothing since. Is this a normal occurence?

My husbands was touched the same day and I have not heard anything either.

  11. We went on Wed. 10/22 and the same date there was a "touch" and a note that his EAD card was ordered... I didn't get a confirmation # though... she @ immigration office put a call in... that's all...

    Yep, good luck!

Well, the most important thing is to do service request and get a confirmation number.

I was able to do that on the phone. Well, now I have to wait.

When did you go to infopass?

yes, same here. I need to get any jobs. I cannot be picky. I have no money anymore.

  12. Thanks everyone... we're not celebrating yet 'till we have that card in our hands... :P

Kittykat: hope you have it soon... as for what kind of job we're looking for... for now anything that comes our way... this is for my husband and he doesn't speak English fluently... he just wants to work right now... :star:

Smilegirl: thank you.. make the Infopass if you're 90 days have passed... We didn't get anything 'till we went to our infopass on Tuesday and yesterday I see that his EAD card was ordered... good luck.

  13. You are not alone... my husband's was received on 7/17 and touched on 8/5... eversince nothing... still waiting for his EAD card... was told yesterday at the immigration office another 2 weeks...

    Hey,

I was wondering if anyone else is in the same position as me... I checked the case status online for my AOS application and the status date has not changed since we sent it in, it's still saying August. If I click on it, it says it's at the National Benefits Center. I haven't gotten any emails from them or anything. Just hoping all is OK with it. Being impatient I guess.

    Any ideas?

    Janny

YEs. you're not alone. With my AOS it still says JULY 21 that they received it and its at NBC. Last update on it was on JULY 30

Hmm, sucky. I guess I just have to be patient. grr.

    Good luck!

  14. Hi,

Well... I made an infopass for my husband and went today in S.F. I get there and the 1st woman asks why I am here and I told her for his EAD...right away she said we can't do anything here for you... in the same breath she says we can make a service call...

the second window, she wasn't nice at all and asked for papers and then she asks "why do u need EAD for?"... well, hello work... he needs a job... We told her and she said all I can do put a call... she was on the phone for about 6-8 min. she talked about everything and anything except asking the other person what's going on with EAD... anyhow after 6-8 min. chatting she came back and said they're reviewing it... you should get it in 2 weeks... I asked her what's there to review... she said "I told you they have to review it and we can't do anything" I was so close to ask for her supervisor she had a big attitude...and I don't think she asked the other person anything about his EAD... she just told us what she would tell anyone in our situation...anyhow, I asked her what if it doesn't come in 2 weeks? she said to make another appointment... I be making an appointment today for the next 2 weeks just in case...

hope it comes soon... and good luck to everyone who is waiting...

  15. Hi,

My husband is in the same situation... His AOS, EAD and AP were all recived on 7/17/08...We had his Biometrecs on 8/2 and a touch on 8/5 but nothing since... there has been no touches or any emails...

what do you think? How long more should we wait before we make an info pass?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
