Yeah, I realize that someone may use the prior name to commit some havoc when they are older, but I liked the humor of the idea of 2 month old felon.

When interviewing for a visa, they look for ties to the Philippines that would bring them back.  Are there more incentives for them to return than to stay in the in US?  So all ties such as jobs, businesses, relatives, property ownership, investments, and various other commitments help bolster the belief that they would return.  Having a house is just one of many factors that create a belief that they will return.

In my experience, EVA Airlines is an excellent airline.  The only horrible thing I can think of is the Hello Kitty themed gate area in Taiwan.

Talako reacted to RO_AH in Lost/stolen Green Card while in the Philippines?
For me when I arrive to the Philippines I put my passport in a safe place as soon as I arrive to where I am staying. I only carry my USA drivers license around while I am there so that I can be identified if something were to happen to me. Your wife has zero reason to be carrying the green card or any passport around with her while she is there so if that's the case she should not lose it. I wouldn't even worry about this, you can not begin to plan for every possible scenario of what "could" go wrong.

You are over planning. No one can give you any guarantees. There are so many variables. She could be flagged for sputum testing in her medical which will set you back 60 days. You could get a 221g at the interview. Don't try to put the cart before the horse. Many people here have tried and lost at that game. Either buy a ticket with variable dates (which will probably be the same as what your pay for one 2-4 weeks out once she passes the interview. CFO should most likely be the least of your concerns honestly.

Out of every post you have seen here or anywhere in the internet, find me one where a person was denied exit. If your things are in order and your fiance has a strong confident attitude it will be a breeze. Make sure your fiance has all dates regarding your relationship committed to memory. I made a cheat sheet for my wife to study. When we first met, how we met, when we first met in person, each visit I made there, etc. Doing that helps her to have confidence. If you give her or allow her to have as much negativity about the process as you just posted above, it will hurt her not help her.

I can see that they might want to see her CENOMAR.  You wouldn't need one.  Are you sure they are asking for one from you specifically?

I have never heard of that because there is no such certificate that can be produced in the US.  We can provide proof that we are born, married, divorced, or widowed, but we cannot provide certified proof that a person is single.

I do not know what to tell you.  Maybe Chancy, Adventine, RO_AH, or Top Secret can provide some guidance on the best course of action.

Not sure where you are getting that idea from, as the image you posted clearly lists "CENOMAR".  Non-Filipinos can get CENOMAR from PSA.  If you want to submit a document from NJ instead, go ahead as it won't hurt your case.

I would argue that a K1 visa is a formal document from the US government that says you are both free to marry.😁  Though arguing with CFO is never likely to be a productive endeavor. I would go along with Chancy and say a CENOMAR is probably what they want.  It is kind of a strange request by CFO, though hardly the strangest they ever came up with.  If you have ever lived in the Philippines or have any Filipino heritage or maybe your name is just the same or similar to some other previous petitioner in CFO's records it might be the reason.

As RO_AH responded, there is no cost.  The only issue with CFO is ever changing requirements.  As a side note, Filipina's who are shy, quiet, meek, and avoid eye contact will find it a rough go.  They are chum to the CFO sharks.

Unless something has changed recently, I don't believe any document needs to have wet signatures for the embassy.  The I-134 doesn't mean much.  It is the I-864 filed at AOS that commits.
