dnp2014 got a reaction from OldUser in RFE is bank statement really needed?
IF they specifically asked for bank statements then you should provide all the bank statements you have.  You can send statement from July 2016 to Present. That will be 1.5 yrs of statements.

    Just an update..

We contacted customer service yesterday and spoke to a nice lady .. we mentioned about the call regarding 2/26 appointment.. so far no document received related to the change of date.. she advised us to go to the office for the interview on 2/26 and did put a request for urgent infopass... few hours later some one called back and told us since they gave you a date through the phone   the change probably done internally.. so they are not able to see from the central system.. so just make it for the appointment.. the person also told there were few other calls received with same concern.

Anyway we went to the office today.. security did not ask anything.. 8th floor security told us go to window 59 .. and they never asked any question regarding the date on the letter.. anyway she had the interview.. passed the test.. but  she was claiming for citizenship after 3 yrs (marriage) and the officer gave her a no decision at this time letter.. we will have to wait for the decision in the mail..

anyway the interview part is over

Sorry to hear it... but take it in a positive note.. At least you have some kind of response on your file.
Just send a letter with updated documents. They will accept it. It might be the reviewer want to take a look at current documents before approval.

Was she a green card holder who lived too long outside the US and now wants to return? if so, one option is to relinquish the green card then get petitioned for a new one.
Another option is to try for an SB-1 visa, albeit this is difficult to obtain unless you can show cause for being abroad too long.

More details are needed as this are just speculation/guesses.

There is no violation of law. Federal government does not decide who gets state benefits. The state government adminster the benefits to their residents. According to policies passed by the local government he (usc) and his lpr spouse will be eligible for healthcare benefits based on his magi.

He need to apply through ny Heath exchange and they will ask for pay stubs and copy of gc from lpr.

That's not true.. I have helped many with medicaid/obamacare.  NY state does not look at your savings or resources for health insurance. They had limit on resources before obamacare like you can own one home which need to be your primary residence. After Affordable care act passed no resources are counted towards your eligibility unless you are 65 years or above with disability or requires nursing home care. Your eligibility is only based on Modified Adjusted Gross Income.

You should not halt. bring your spouse in

If the non-USC spouse is bring abused by the USC spouse and wants to flee to safety, why on earth would she go to the USA, the only country that the USC abuser can move to unhindered? Surely you would want to live somewhere where he can't get you, not the easiest place for him to get you?

I don't understand why the child is being cared for by the grandmother if the USC is a stay-at-home spouse? Isn't that why spouses stay at home, to care for children?

It sounds like a marriage of convenience. Neither has any desire to live with the other and it seems the non-USC is more intent on getting a GC than on building a life with her spouse.

    As has been answered above
    You cannot apply for him
You can 'invite' him .... call him, email him, whatsapp him, skype him, however you usually talk to him ..."hey bro, wanna come visit me?"
Then he has to apply for a B2 visa to visit you
If he does not have strong ties to home he may be denied such a visa, however, but there is nothing you can do to affect his chances of getting a visa.

No where in the definition of Marriage is the word love. It is a union between two people.

The overall assumption in the western culture is marriage is when two people fall in love and want to spend the rest of their life together but  in a different culture it could be arranged by the family hoping those two people will grow to love each other and build a family unit.

I agree with "it depends on the CO and how he/she sees the case" but it is also important to address and overcome the reason of denial and to present yourself well. My visa was denied 3 times on May &a June 2017 but it was approved yesterday on my 4th attempt.

When she gets a work visa in the said "safe"  country. My definition of a safe country is a first world country or a country that is not a developing country. More industrial and something similar. If she becomes a resident of that country and holds a work visa...she will then have "strong ties" and might give her a greater chance of getting a tourist visa (she applies for the tourist visa in the US consulate in that country...not Pakistan).

This is just a suggestion aside from getting a tourist visa from Pakistan and filing a petition for her. Just to give you possible options.

Are you saying that the only reason the MIL has a green card is to sponsor the daughter one day?
i don’t really understand why leaving her 3 months is some kind of maximum time, like why the difference if she’s alone for 1 or 3 or 5 months ...ok so i don’t understand the culture. But if it is such an issue for her on her own, maybe the daughter’s safety should be worth more than the mother’s green card?

The classes of visas most likely to be eliminated soon are sibllings and adult children .  When this happens there will be no path to the US for these people.

Understand but many people abuse it and the one with good intention will bear their sin...

You should provide round trip air tickets (buy the one you can cancel), also all the above you mentioned for strong ties to HC.. One more thing.. you probably can write a letter in detail the reason behind you are not able to make to Sri Lanka and also guarantee that they will go back after the trip.. finally pray that you end with a kind officer who will approve the visa.
