Hey Guys we are in the process of filing AOS and I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. If you are still in your home country make sure you bring a copy of your medical exam (DS 3025) and if possible, even after your medical exam, get ALL the vaccines needed here. For example the measles vaccine (MMR) is a two dose vaccine, get the second dose before you come.
Vaccines in the US are EXTREMELY expensive. Make sure you have all the required ones for AOS. If you are already in the US, do your research and find clinics that offer low cost or free vaccine shots.
We just got some vaccines my husband was missing in NYC for free (only paid admin. fee of $8). If anyone here is living in NYC go to the Fort Greene Health Clinic in Brooklyn, staff is very friendly and the price is the best.

FINALLY ... and after 323 days (100 days of them our file was lost between USCIS and NVC) we've got the visa approval TODAY

Ugh, I know firsthand the agonizing dread of being in AP. It was the hardest part of this whole journey and we spent many nights on the phone in silence with nothing to say because of it. Just know there's a light at the end of AP, and that you have the support of others here in the same situation.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, it took me being in AP to really understand what that meant.

Awww that's normal. Those were my exact feelings when I moved to DR a couple of years ago, but she's better than me because I took about two months to adjust lol

If it is the standarded packet four they list all documents that you could need. For example ours said to bring adoption records (we don't have any adoptions in our story, so this isn't apart of the docs we need).
So before you panic too much...
I would call NVC and ask them about it or email the embassy (ankara has a submit email forum, I've used it twice and they were very fast at responding to the questions).

News update that our file was sent over to the national record center.

CSC used to have these kind of troubles with NVC, but it's strange because TSC used to send off the file immediately and NVC receives them and sends them out in 2-3 weeks
we are the only exception of TSC and I don't know why!!!!

Don't give up hope yet! It's a tough situation but it will still get sorted out. It's not like it's stuck at NVC but they should at least be able to tell you when it gets there. It doesn't seem right at all. At least she has an appointment now to talk to someone. I have heard people getting more information when they go to the field office. February 3rd isn't too far away so just see how that goes and let us know how it went for you. Praying for you that it will get resolved and you'll be with your fiancee soon

Many of us have our own nightmares but this is a plan... keep calling and accept the fact that in some cases there are delays.
Hope it all works out soon.

As someone who has been in USCIS-NVC limbo for nearly 4 months now, I will give you some unsolicited advice:
1. e-mail nvcresearch@state.gov now and attach a copy of your NOA2. It will take them a month to reply to you (if they still haven't received your application by then).
2. The petitioner should put in a service request with USCIS, tier 2 person. If Tier 1 gives you some 90-day BS, just emphasize that the NOA2 said NVC should get it within 30 days. If USCIS Tier 1 still puts up a wall, just call back until you get someone useful.
3. If NVC still hasn't received your case by the end of next week, contact your congressional office for assistance.
TSC is usually good about sending files to NVC, while CSC is the one that messes up at that stage.
