  1. Hi saylin,

I have a question re medical. I read your wiki as quoted below:

"...there are a few countries (like the Philippines, for example) that allow advance medicals (ie: you can get the medical done as soon as you have the first piece of correspondence from NVC, instead of waiting for an interview date to be assigned)..."

What do you mean by 1st piece of correspondence? My latest correspondence from nvc was the 60day letter. Will that suffice to schedule medical? Because i called the accredited clinic here in the philippines and asked if i can take my medical even though i do not have an interview letter yet (but, i was not able to tell them that i'm just waiting for my case to be completed by nvc and already got the 60days email). Then the lady

(I do not know her position in the clinic, maybe an operator or concierge, told me that it is better to wait for interview letter because if not they will call embassy to ask if i really need to have an exam taken ahead of time without interview letter.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi guys please can someone help with this question.

I got married on Argentina but my wife live in Guatemala and I live on US. I don't have a recent marriage certificate because it's hard to get from there.

Do you think that will be an issue at the time

    Of the interview??? PLEASE HELP

I'm not an expert but personally, i think it will be an issue if they really require recent certificate. Because that is one of the requirements for civil documents. Did nvc accept your other marriage certificate?

I think you have to wait for others reply on this if you want or call your consulate if they have number you can reach that entertains inquiries.

  3. Thebigo,

I do not know my scan date but my employer sent aos docs or iv docs or both on sept15 (texas time). Not sure what my employer sent because i am on eb3 and my employer is exempt from aos fee as per ceac website so not sure if they are exempted from aos docs as well. But i received email from nvc last sept19 that they received documents on sept18 (nh time probably).

Will your equation work with mine? Thanks!

  4. Hello everyone, please enlighten me. I am really feeling anxious right now. My lawyer sent my civil docs to NVC last October 6th. I have called NVC twice to inquire about my case. But sadly, the NVC has not received my docs until now  The reps told me that my DS-260 has been reviewed but there are no civil documents showing up in their system. Does it really take this long for NVC to acknowledge received documents? What should I do now? I badly need your help. Thank you.

Ask your kawyer if he really sent it. Ask for tracking number as well if possible.

I do not know how fast they really send confirmation email of received docs but in my case, my employer sent docs sept15 and on the 18 i got email already re docs received by nvc.

  5. I really think they realized that to get a case completed fast is not to have it wait for another 60days from checklist. They are siezing the opportunity of lesser approved case from uscis bec it is october. And they would want to transfer as much cases as possible to consilates. So as not to give them more headaches when iscis starts to approve more cases again by dec or jan next year.

So we are seeing cc of less than 60days from checklist but at around 60days from either aos or iv.

My last scan was sept18 but i'm still not expecting cc by nov18 probably.

  6. Thanks a lot may be this will help. But the village one has state stamp and notarized too so they want state authorized format?

    Brijakash,

The one we can get from the city the person was born is certified true copy with stamp as well of the original that was filed to them by the hospital at the time of birth but nvc wants us to submit docs from national office.

Ask other members here from india who are cc akready where they get their birth certificate and decide from there.

  7. plz plz somebody help me

My grandfather doesn't have birth certificate so got no record from village where he born, send 2 close relative who is older then him and send affdative of those 2 people and school living. I don't know what they want they saying your birth certificate is missing. oh god what to do now. :crying::crying: consulate is Mumbai.

    Brijkash,

Do you have a central office or national office that issues birth certificate whatever village/city/province in india a person is born? Because if there is maybe that is where you should get the certificate of no records instead of getting it from the village.

In our case in the philippines, we can get birth certificate from the city the person is born printed on an ordinary paper but also we can get birth certificate from the national office that prints it on security paper (paper used to print philippine money). Birth certificate from national office is the one required by nvc in cases of applicants from philippines.

By the way, documents from national office was sent by the city the person was born from several days after birth. And it is not only birth certificate that we can get from the national office. There are other documents as well, depending on your need.

Also, do you have any information regarding birth certificates from a village in india is acceptable to nvc? Maybe you should start looking for other indian national who were already cc so you can ask them where did they get their birth certificates from.

    I hope this will help.

  8. It seems that they are working the 60days on the aos/first scan dates as evidenced by those cc with aos scan of aug but with iv scan of sept. Although, there are members with aos/checklist as of aug still not yet cc.

Personally, i am exempt from aos fee based on ceac. I do not know the reason if my employer is just exempted or because i'm on eb3 visa. I just hope they sent aos docs earlier than my iv that was sent sept15 and eventually scanned sept18 so i can also finish this sooner than later.

  9. Nvc call center are good in scripting answers. That is what you call good customer service. So they basically answer you that, "it is being reviewed" because you gave them your last scan date and they are sticking to the script of 60days.

The good news here is that there are solid evidences of cc counting 60days from the first scan date and not on checklist. But, it is worth nothing on the possibility that other nvc employees works faster than other employees.

Overall, every case completed is an opportunity for other cases to be reviewed. Let us just keep praying and hope that the next cc will our case.

Good luck to all of us!

  10. My case had been complete since 10/15 but got no email yet. I called NVC twice since then and all they told me is I will receive an email with the Interview letter once they receive the schedule from your consulate.

    J_d,

You will be next soon! Njordan from nvc filers -oct 2014 got cc on 10/2 and only got interview letter last 10/17 according to his/her timeline.

    Claim it, j_d!

  11. Hi everyone have question about civil document for my grandfather.he doesn't have birth certificate so i sent no record from grampanchayat,2 close relative affadtive and school living certificate but right now they reviewing a document and they saying they missing birth certificate i told them that i sent no record the lady said it has to be state authorized something like that i dont know what to do can somebody help me with it. I didnt get checklist yet though

What is grampanchayat? Is it the office that issues birth certificate? I believe the certificate of no record should be issued by the same office who issues birth certificate. But let us wait for other replies. What i provided you is what from our country.

  12. Thanks, nlr!

My question is with middle names in ds260. In the applicant details it says middle name should be included in the first name. It is clear with the "hint" on the right side. Now in the parents', spouse's and children's portion the "hint" is not there and there is no field for middle name. What did you do here guys? Did you put the middle name with the first name or just did not bother to put middle names? I do not have any idea what the processig officer assigned by my employer did to mine because he was the one who submitted it for me, i just provided answers to parts that i can answer.

Another is re start and end date of education. I cannot remember the date. All put is the month and year. So i left the date empty. I do not know as well what my processing officer did to this part.

This has been bothering me since hearing of the checklist here on vj.

I attached screenshots of sample ds260 on applicant, parents and childrens page.

    Thank you very much.

  13. I'm honestly not sure how the EB3 visa works to be honest. But nvc4all will have 2 case completes. Often one case is processed faster because they're not processed by the same person. Person A may be faster than person B etc... Generally though they will interview at the same time as the cases are joined (only 1 AOS fee is paid.)

Okay. Thanks. Good to hear that it lies with the person/nvc reviewing the case and not with the visa category. I thought cases of usc are prioritized over eb visa who are going to be lpr.

    Thanks again!

  14. CR1/IR1 cannot have derivatives. Each must have their own petition, AOS, Visa application, and IV documentation. So EB3 doesn't work the same way. Yours is working preference category. Your spouse (as a derivative) must apply for an EAD to work and any children would be E35 or EW5 and if old enough to work would also likely need an EAD.

So this is the reason why nvc4all will have 2 cc dates. Thanks for the info nrl.

Another question though, what do you think is the reason why on the 2 cases of nvc4all, 1 is processed faster than the other? Do you think i will be the same reason if ever my eb3 will take longer than the usual time for ir/cr cases here?

I know every case are different. But i would just like to know if i will be receiving cc by nov18.

    Thanks!

  15. Thanks, nvc4all!

No a step child will be CR2 or IR2 to the spouse's CR1 or IR1.

What do you mean, nlr? Does it mean that eventhough docs are scanned at the same time but since these are different categories then 1 would be completed faster than the other?

Does it also work for other visas like eb3 whether applicant or dependents/derivatives? I am wondering because i am eb3 applicant and i'm basing my turnaround time with ir/cr visas here.

    Thanks!

  16. I am not able to make out anything from the latest CC's and scan dates

I have a case that is completed, with original scan date of Aug 4, followed by another document scanned on Sept 3.

I have another case that is still pending with original scan date of July 9th, followed by checklist scan date od Sept 3

    When was it case completed?

How cone you have 2 cases, what are these 2 cases? Any difference in visa category?

    Thanks!

  17. We received an AOS checklist at the end of August, but because I realized I had sent in the wrong kind of birth certificate with my IV packet, we waited until September to respond to the checklist so I could send my new birth certificate with it. The scan date for that packet is Sept 12th.

I hope you get a CC soon! It's taken way too long for you!

This is another example of a checklist wherein the countdown didn't reset for another 60days. Rather only more than 30days from the time the correct docs were received or you could say 60days still from the day of first scanning last aug12.

Hopefully checklists will be reviewed on the initial scanning to hasten up movements of cases thus unloading cases to consulates.
