My little kitty has been losing weight & is pretty listless. I noticed that his foot pads, nose & ears were looking really pale compared to the pink they usually are. So, we took him to the vet.
The vet took blood samples. He said that Peepers is severly Anemic. Has no clue why. He tested the samples for Feline Leukemia and they came back negative. He said to make sure he eats and keep him comfortable. but what else can we do? Any help would be appreciated.
This is Lil "P" as we call him sitting on top of Snowy

Even if she's American, had gained Canadian citizenship and then moved back to the U.S., she still couldn't lose her Canadian citizenship. The only two possible explanations I could think of would be that your friend is talking about reapplying for a Canadian Passport (since those do expire, regardless of where you are) or she wasn't a citizen, but a permanent resident, in which case her status as one may have expired due to being outside Canada for too long.
Otherwise, I have no clue. I have a feel, however, that she's merely using the word "citizenship" incorrectly and means something else entirely.
Thats what I'm thinking Dead. I think she is confusing her citizenship with her passport.
She hasn't emailed me back yet. Will have to wait and see.
Thanks everyone for your input though!

My guess would be that the OP simply isn't aware, nor is her friend, that you don't lose your Canadian citizenship by marrying an American.
Just my guess though.
I Am WELL AWARE that you don't lose your Canadian Citizenship when you move to the states.
This is for someone I know.
She just mentioned this to me while I was running out the door and I couldn't ask her anything further about it. I just sent her an email asking her further info.
I'm thinking maybe she is mistaken and means she needs to get a new passport. As soon as she answers the questions I asked her I'll know more.
I'm not sure if she was an American and moved to Canada and became a Canadian and then moved back or how she got her American status. Which Visa , K-1, K-3 , work visa, whatever.
Like I said, She is a doctor with a practice here.

I have a friend who is Canadian, (She is a doctor), married an American in 2000 and needs to re-apply for Canadian Citizenship. Do any of you know how she would go about that or where she should begin?

They had a hard time getting my prints as well. It took them nearly 2 hrs to get them this time. I had the same problem with the AOS ones.
I haven't gotten a letter or anything, so I hope it worked out.

where is the link to check the status?
I had my biometrics done march 11 2008.

Can the child still visit while the I130 is processing? My daughter wants to move here ( she is 12) I am the LPR. I understand my husband can file for the I130. But I heard it's taking a long time for this to process. During this time can she come visit us . She visits us 4 times a year. ( she's from canada).
Also, once the I130 is approved do you have 6 months to use it like the K-1 or is there no time limit? I really don't want to pull her out of school part way thru the year.
Consider moving this to the Canadian forum Raphael...I think you'll find some experienced responses there from friendly folks
I can't offer an opinion since my daughter travelled with me on a K1.
Cheers
I was told to put this question back in here . So....

I'm sorry to read your dilema.
It looks like what I'll be dealing with as well. I've not yet activated my K-1 yet as I am still hoping that my ex will give me the letter I need.
My daughter is 14 and the Consulate Officer told us that until she is 16 we still require her father's permission to come to the States. I have a year from Feb 4 to get the letter and activate our visas. I will be activating mine late in May with the hope that I get that letter. My daughter will need to make a very tough choice of living with me or her dad. If she chooses me, she will need to convince her dad to give us the clearance to move.
It's going to be very hard for her - leaving all she has known. It will be hard for me as well cause I have never lived anywhere but where I was born and raised.
I'm going to be interested in reading about your story and how this all works out for you. Which I hope is for the very best.
Hi Thanks for the warm wishes.
Have you checked with a lawyer in regards to the age the child can make the decision.
The age of 12 was what age my lawyer stated the legal age to do this was. I have a binding letter signed by a judge that states that once my daughter turned 12, she could decide where she wanted to live.
It's been very hard living here without her. She lived with me all her life up until I moved here.
Goodluck!

I got a message from these people that I won a Mexican Vacation.
They said that there is no purchase neccessary and they aren't a time share.
I am reluctant to call them back. I've always gone by the idea that nothing is ever free in this world. There has to be some sort of catch.
Anyone out there dealt with these people before? Is this legit?!
scam.
Thought so, Thanks anyway!
how did you get this message? email?
It was a voicemail message on my cell phone

i think you will find the higher ups usually can see whats going on and in time they will get theirs
I'm dealing with people like this at work now and unfortunatly the "higher ups" is a friend of theres so I just bide my time, look for another job, and try to ignore them.
At one point I had thought of quitting but then thought, Why let them win!!?!

I wonder if you would have more success posting this in the "Bringing Family Members" forum? Would you like me to move it, Raphael, or would you prefer it remain here?
I had it in there and they told me to move it here
Silly wabbits. It's almost like dealing with a government body, isn't it?
lol Yep!! ( worked for the Canadian Federal Government for 15 yrs so I know that all too well! LOL

I came here on a K-1 . My daughter was supposed to come with me, but her Bio donor decided at the last minute that she couldn't come. I had to leave her behind until she turned 12 ( Legal age in Canada for her to decide herself where she wants to live)
She has now turned 12 .
I had written to USICS to remove her from my K1 at that time. When I went to my K-1 interview I gave the lady a copy of the letter I wrote to remove her from the K1-k2 . The lady said she wouldn't do it because she found in most cases the father has a change of heart and lets the child follow a few months later. My ex doesn't have a heart, hence he didn't change it.
I am in the process of having the conditions removed off my greencard.
I understand it will be faster for her to come if my hubby ( stepfather) applies for her, rather then me. I have a few questions though..
Can the child still visit while the I130 is processing? My daughter wants to move here ( she is 12) I am the LPR. I understand my husband can file for the I130. Can she wait here while its processing? Will the documents all go to my ex? I am scared he will " misplace them" on purpose. He did this with our divorce.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

We had a bad experience with someone we met online through a gaming site we both played in. This girl was very jealous that My now hubby was interested in me intead of her. She actually called his base and told them that he threatened her with a bomb. He was called into his supior officers office and asked about this. ( Hubby was a bomb expert in the AF ) He told his officer what was going on and they got the FBI involved.
They tracked her down. ( we knew her full name and address because she had befriended us before this came up) She was charged with giving false information about a terrosist act . Apparently its a federal offence to make a false terrorist claim on a military personel.
She is doing time as we speak.

Hi Emily,
I was like you..all wierded out about the medical! its not a big deal though, the medical questions, eye test, blood test, check your vaccination papers..and oh yes..the quick peek under the hood! all in all no big deal(unless you're my 15 year old daughter) she was mortified that the first person under her skirt was an old guy!! and then of course the x-rays..but obviously not if you're expecting.. hope that helps
S
Wow ! I had my Exam with Dr Morgan and she only asked some questions, the exam was basically looked at my stomach ( had stomach cancer and was very scarred up from that. felt my ankles for edema and that was it. Had an Eye Exam, got weighed, had chest exray & a small sample of blood taken.
It really was no big deal. I was scared I would be denied because of the previous cancer but wasn't. Don't worry! You'll do fine!

Hope you get your approval quick.
Nebraska seems to be quite slow these days. My daughter's still waiting for her approval. We sent hers in on December 4, 2007.
I'm glad you're done w/ your biometrics. I'll have mine on march 19,is it okey if my husband will not be with for my bio bec. he need to be with her elder sister ( end stage of cancer, she had only few days to live ). I might be driving alone!? Thanks for your reply.
Awww I'm sorry to hear of your sister-in-laws Illness. My thoughts are with you.
My brother died of Cancer 5 yrs ago. I was the lucky one to have survived Stomach Cancer. I've had it 3 times though!
The Biometrics are quite easy. You'll do fine!

My husband talked to the vet and he said that the its a congenitive issue. He checked him for lead, toxic poisoning, all kinds of things. He said that the only thing he can suggest is that they give him a blood transfusion. He said that may help him but, we could find in a few weeks that he is right back to the same spot again. He suggested we get him baby food ( liver, chicken, turkey, ham etc...) feed that to him and see if it helps him gain his strength. He said we can check in a few days to see how he is doing and then consider the transfusion.
No idea how much the transfusion will cost tho. Were not exactly wealthy.
My hubby gave him some baby food and he ate some of it. He is drinking lots of water and seems to be in better spirits.
His little brother Ziggy, keeps calling for him. He's a real charterbox and always calls out for him and we have to let Ziggy know where he is or he'll wander all over the house looking for him.
One good thing the vet said is that this is not contagious. We have 7 other cats.
