  1. I filled in the .pdf versions of the forms in packet 3 they sent and printed them off...filled them in CORRECTLY this time, following the vj example forms and advice from rebecca etc... Wrote my covering letter and sent off all 4 forms (includes DS-156 duplicate). Just gotta wait till i get my police certificate so I can send back the checklist

I was re-reading the medical instructions again and it says "if you can't get a medical date before the interview don't worry we will look over the results when we recieve them and contact you about your case." So is there still a possible way you think I could manage to sneak them onto the same day?

Also I had one question. It goes on about evidence that the applicant won't become a public charge...now it says bank balance can be used as proof. If I got a letter from the bank that states how much we have saved (since July 05)....money is for going back, interview, medical etc etc, hotel.....will they take that into account in our favor as it is savings..?

 ty for making me understand packet 3

  2. Andrew & I would like to pop in here and say a huge thank you for all your kind comments, website viewings and thank you to the two VJers who have donated through our website to help us (you know who you are, we don't want to shout out names without permission).. Every little makes a difference to us.... We've also had quite a few PMs in the last few hours which we're still replying to so if you sent a message we'll be replying soon, we aren't ignoring them.

Thanks to VJ we got this far and we'll keep going far...TY all from the bottom of our hearts.

  3. I was filling out the two copies of the DS-156 from packet 3 when it suddenly dawned on me I'd signed both of them and addressed them etc at the bottom...when it says NOT to.... I was pretty tired at the time and just kept going. Now I'm afraid these won't be accepted..... my dad says just to cross my signiture out but its gonna be a big worry on my mind. I can see from the download section I can download the same forms they sent but will they accept those?

Plus (I've tried asking in the embassy section) the whole packet (instructions, covering letters and all forms...) are stapled together. It came like that. If I want to use downloaded versions of the forms I just messed up I'd have to rip out the messed up ones....if I've not to unstaple them from this packet. Also I need to rip out the I-134 because its stuck in there too and I'm awaiting my fiance and our co-sponcer to send us downloaded versions of this form I sent them the other day..... So I don't know what to do.

Can I download the DS-156 fill them in right this time, rip out the messed copies from the stapled packet 3 and just like include the newly filled out ones when I send em back? Plus rip out the I-134 and add the new copies from my fiance and co-sponcer in the envelope when sending back?

I want to take these staples out but then again am I even suppost to? and will they even accept them in? Or out with holes in em ? that THEY did?

    Fiona,

I had my medical exam in London in february for K1 and you will be fine, they won't ask to see anything!! You do need to change into a dressing gown in just your underwear and they prod and poke your stomach but that's about it, as well as taking a blood test. You'll be fine. My doctor was a south african guy and was extemely nice, oh and you can ask for a female nurse to be present for it all if that is any help to you. The doctor does ask if you've had any problems concerning that area but that is as much as it was. Hope this helps!!

Ah good thank god I would've had a serious problem there, an I'm sure alot of you may be thinking that it's no big deal but each man has his own wounds which salt is easily poured and in this case it is wone of my few. Sadly enough I would've switched places to go to England to get past it, not sure if it ease's Fiona as it was mainly my concern but it does me alot, I thank you...

  5. I have a few other questions if any UKers can shed some light.

    1. Do we keep these staples in....they tell US not to use them but they have? They hold all the forms together....

    2. My co-sponser and sponser are filing in a downloaded verson of the I-134 each...there is one included stapled into packet three....do we rip this out because it will remain blank and may cause some confusion

    3. Theres some form with a barcode on it....I remember filling this in online once because it needed the barcode.... the instructions don't say in packet 3 to go online to get the barcode of this form they've included so I can only assume they'll give me that at the interview?

    4. Do I send back the instructions too? If we keep the staples in they are stapled with them too....

So you guys know ( :D whoever follows our case) I emailed the London embassy today and asked about the medical/interview not being on the same day anymore and if there was anyway at all due to our circumstances they could aid us... Not expecting them to say yes but can do but ask. I also asked about having my caregiver at the medical and interview....if she'd need a special pass and about disabled access at the embassy. All posted in other threads. So  waiting for a responce. Pray its positive. Ty all for your continues help...

  6. Wanted to hop back and say ty again. I've printed off 4 copies of the I-134 and sent them off to Andy (2 spare) incase of anything.....we'll have it....

Your advice has been excellent and myself and Andy have agreed if things start going down hill for us or a denial is for medical or finational reasons we will consult an MDA attorney to see if to keep on battling through this may I say nail biting, hair pulling, head banging, rage gearing, emotional wripping process.

 we'll get through this, we've got this far....aint about to turn back. I love Andy too much (L)

  7. NOOoooo! April Fooled for the second time today #######....I'm so gulable :crying::blush: I was like YAY some people will get more speedy NOA2s etc..

I need to tell you about this morning. Mum comes in with the mail hands me packet 3 :D *does the visa dance  *....then whilst on Yahoo with Andy talking about its arrival....the bomb is dropped. He said we have some bad news, he got a letter from homeland security ...I was like NOOOO!!! omg they've found something wrong with out paper work...... from way back. Confused yet I'm holding packet 3. Then he uses the crying yahoo smiley and it was like my whole life flashed before my eyes then he goes...

    APRIL FOOLS!!!

Needless to say I virtually slapped him

  8. What a great surprise this morning.

So far today I've filled out the Bio data form and leaving the rest for a bit (I tire easily).... But all looks "ok." We were looking at the medical instructions though and it says THEY choose where I go and that it takes 2 days now to get the results...so looks like we're gonna have to make 3 trips to london....1 for the medical, 1 for the interview and 1 to heathrow if approved. According to our packet 3 it has I-134 gets sent back with all the rest they supplied....but I have to wait for my co-sponcer and fiance to send them back to send off packet 3 ...so hmm....

    Wish us luck!

Btw the whole packet 3 came with 2 staples through them....we haven't unstapled them incase....is this right?

  9. Ok erm confused again

" Some foreign U.S. consulates require a 2nd affidavit of support which is called "sponsor's financial responsibility

under the social security act." It is a simple form and easily filled out and signed. The Hong Kong consulate does

require this form, as does the Sydney (Australia) consulate."

Now this is further down the guide.....does this mean there is a form called "sponcors finanical responsibility under the social security act" that will be in packet 3 that I'll have to send to the states for him to fill in? Or does this mean they're just refering to an additional copy of the I-134.....or is it a similar form I've overlooked?

  10. Ok here goes,

My parents are wanting to immigrate to america too after seeing it and would like to "retire" there ya know? They keep saying they think theres someway they can attach onto me and andy once I go through AOS...is this true? Or do they have to file a whole visa just for them as a couple immigrating .. DCF? I dunno what to tell them, they certainly aint going to go into it anytime soon until andy and I are sorted out....just wondered how it'd work. I've read around and can see "parents of....this and that visa" but not the K-1.... I'm figuring they apply for there own seperate one...

    Any idea?

    Fiona
