    Hi MJJC,
Im sorry to hear that your stuck at AP,its really tough to keep on waiitng not knowing why it is taking so long to get issued, just like you I know how it feels,I took courage to call the Immigration Visa Unit since its almost close to two weeks since I got approved from my interview.
This is the number i called 02-301-2000 once you hear a voice prompt press the extention number 5184 OR 5185 its best to call early before 8:00 am hits like 7:58 coz thats were the line operates,or in the afternoon around 4:00 pm.
I also noticed that after I sent for a congressional inquiry,it seems it had helped move justice to my case.
Hang in there, there is a light at the end of tunnel!
My friend called also today and she was aked to call again for an update on thursday or friday.

Your dad's status in the US has nothing to do with your K-1 visa process. This is about YOU and your relationship with your fiancé.

Shouldn't be an issue unless they determine you don't have a real and legitimate relationship with your petitioner fiance and are just trying to use that to join your parent.

I met a US citizen fiancé in march 2012 and dated through January 2013, married February 2013 WE HAVE 28 YEARS AGE DIFFERENCE my husband is white and I am black, We did not hire an attorney I did all the paper work by myself and a lot of readings.
    Here is my timeline

.April 16 2013- package received in Chicago

.August 5 2013-Greencard approved on the spot when I checked the status online its already in the production phase.
The interview was painless, the lady was very friendly, It lasted for about 10 minutes for me & 10 for my husband because they interviewed us separate .These was at Lawrence office Massachusetts. I just want to share my journey ,because these forums helped me a lot too. Do not be afraid it will be ok. Just have faith, I am so happy & relieved.
