  1. Hi there,

I have recently received my 2 year conditional GC. I have moved into a new house and I was wondering what do I need to check off on the AR11 form under "I am in the United States as:........The options are Visitor,Student,Permanent Resident or Other(please specify). I was thinking to check off Permanent Resident, but I only have a 2 year conditional perminant resident card. So what should I check off?

And if I am not a permanent resident then what category do I fall under?

    Thanks

  2. Hi there,

I just had my AOS interview today and I got my I-551 stamp in my passport. But on the stamp it says I am eligible for employment for 1 year. Yet on the actual paper the interviewer gave us regarding on how to apply for I-751 it says my Green Card expires after 2 years. Will my actual Green Card, once I get it in the mail, show validity until 2008 or 2007. I am confused. Please help me!!!

    Thanks

  3. I would have told him what he could do to try to speed things up, but he said he doesn't want a "whole list of regulations." The procedures are what makes things work, so not much you can do for a person that doesn't want to know the rules.

This was a basic question for my well being. I have already read the rules, but I have noticed that the rules have not been followed by the Social Security office for alot of people in the time frame it takes to get their card. This "survey" was meant to get a better understanding for K-3's.

  4. Hi there,

I was just curious. I have applied for my SSN and it has been over two and 1/2 weeks now. I already have an EAD and I have my AOS interview later this month. I have noticed that my AOS was touched today and never touched during the time I applied for my SSN. Does that mean that the DHS has verified my profile and sent back info to the Social Security office? Has anyone noticed this before they were sent the Social Security Card?

    Thanks

    Tony

  5. Hi there,

I just want to know how long it took K-3 visa holders to get their SS card, once they applied for it. It's going to be 2 weeks this friday for me so I just need to know for my own peacer of mind. Please only respond with your response time not a whole list of regulations.

    Thanks

    Tony

  6. Hi there,

I was wondering if it was possible to go into the Social Security office with the required documents and get a Social Security Number before they send you the actual SSN card? Can you ask for a number the day you apply and will they give you one? In california a SSN is required to get a driver's license and I don't know how long it will take to get the actual SSN card in the mail.

Has anyone done it this way?

    Thanks

  8. Hi there,

I was wondering how long it takes for the check to clear once chicago receives the application. I mailed out my application on August 11th 2006 and not even the check has been cashed yet let alone receiving a NOA1. I was wondering if ther are any other people in this situation who have not received anything yet for the application sent around August 11th 2006. I even called the USCIS and they said my I-485 is not in the system yet. Does this mean it never got to the Chicago lock box??

    I am sooo frustrated!!!

  9. They are aware of the problem and they are getting 100s of calls a day regarding the USCIS.gov tracking site not working with MSC numbers.

Here is what the woman told me:

The USCIS.gov doesn't connect directly to the USCIS computer system that the USCIS uses to work on petitions.

All 3 of my petitions are in the main system and for some reason didn't get transfered to database that the USCIS.gov site uses.

They are fully aware of the issue, calling won't help get your apps to the website tracking.

They hope to have it fixed in the next couple days. She didn't sound confident on this one.

The petitions that aren't showing up at USCIS.gov site aren't going to be affected time wise because the main system has everything and is working properly, we just can't track the cases online.

That was ALMOST worth the 40 minute wait :-)

    Hi there,

I am experiencing the same problem for my EAD NOA1 MSC#. It is showing up as invalid for the last 3 weeks. I hope they get this problem resolved soooon!!!

I hate being left in the dark on what if anything is happening to my EAD application

    Thanks

  10. Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone that has filled in the new affadavit of support form for AOS coud help me please?

In part 5 under question 21 a it says enter the number from line 10 which is the principal immigrant sponsored from Part 3. This is the spouse of course. Then again in question 21c it says enter 1 if you are married. But if you enter 1 then the total household size become 3. But my wife is only sponsoring me on the affidavit so the household size should only be 2.

Could someone who has filled out the NEW I-864 please let me know what they put for these 2 questions?

    Thanks

  11. Tony,

The departure section of the I-94 that you have will normally be surrendered to the airline at check-in, or perhaps at the gate before boarding.

In any event it would not be handled by Canadian officials at an airport or by US Customs (US Immigration, maybe).

    Hi there,

I am going to be going back to Canada to visit my parents in a few weeks for the weekend. I came to the USA with a K-3 non immigrant visa. I am going to apply for my AOS in a few weeks and then go back and visit my parents. I was wondering do I have to give my I-94 card to the Canadian Border Inspector or the airline stewdress on the flight to Vancouver BC. I am flying out of San Francisco to Vancouver BC. The US customs will not be done until after I come back into the US at the Vancouver Airport in Canada. I guess I am a little confused over this? Could someone please help me?

    Thanks

    Tony

    thank you Yodrak

  12. it comes after. :)

i guess you can start looking out for it a few weeks after your NOA1 but it may take a month or longer. sometimes the one for EAD comes first and the AOS one comes later, sometimes they both come together as a single appointment. look at the timelines on here to see how quickly its going for people that filed the same time as you, or check the USCIS site for processing dates. good luck! :)

    thank you!!

    Tony

  13. The whole I94 things gets done on the way back. The I94 is from the USA, it doesn't have anything to do with Canada. You'll just have your flight, go home and on the way back you will fill out a new I94.

I'm on a K1 so this is the case for me, but I am certain yours is the same. And if it's not, someone here will come along and correct me.

But don't worry, you're fine, the I94 gets dealt with on the way back into the US.

    Thank you fellow canadian!!!

  15. Hi,

I had a few questions on how to fill in the AOS application.

First question is, under the line where it asks you the I-94#, it asks for expires on (mm/dd/yyyy). Which expiration date do you put in here. The I-94 expiration date or your non immigrant visa date?

Next question is where is the non immigrant visa number located for a K-3 visa? Is it the same as the control number on my visa or is it the red set of numbers on my visa?

    Thanks

    Tony
