I am posting this because we prepared a Affidavit of Support from a Joint Sponsor.
It is my understanding that social security retirement money is not a means tested benefit. Therefore it can be considered income on the Affidavit of Support.
However, the Consulate Officer in Abu Dhabi said that SS can not be considered income.

I didn't think it was possible especially that the service center handling my petition is Texas.

In my case waiting all that time since my fiancee and I physically met did add more proof that our relationship was genuine because it gave us time to send an additional amount of copies of letters, cards, and receipts from gifts I sent since we physically met so it worked out better to wait in my case.
