  1. Aww, my pleasure :luv:^_^ I figured customs still had it, they always do  It usually takes them 1-2 days to screen and release everything. Just keep tracking it with DHL and you'll be informed about every tiny little sorting facility there is :D

And go figure, it happened to us when I wanted to register us for the court and church wedding. I was freaking out!

  2. Of course, we've had the same experience here <_< One time it was lost for 2 weeks due to the Deutsche Post being on a strike, and the other time it got misplaced at the airport. But the packages still arrived!

The problem is this: As soon as the mail gets to Germany, Deutsche Post takes the order over from USPS. BUT: It is not considered express delivery here because the fees you paid only cover that for the US, but not for German territory -_- So that's why it could take 1-2 more days until you receive your mail. Have you tried entering the tracking number on the DHL or Deutsche Post website? Their tracking sometimes shows more information about the destination/status than the USPS one.

We've used FedEx Express ever since that happened to us. They've never failed us so far.

  3. What's important is the amount of the income stated on the tax returns/transcripts/1040A forms/W 2s or whatever you choose to submit with the Affidavit of Support form. You have to submit the AOS when you mail package 3 back to the consulate or at the time of the interview (either one, not sure since we didn't go for a K-1). So that still gives you quite some time to figure things out.

If you are unsure about your fiancé's assets or income, I'd suggest finding a joint sponsor to be on the safe side.

  4. Interview completed.....APPROVED!!!!

Can't pick it up until wed though, which creates a bit of a problem so we will see what happens....time invested so far...17 months, 6 days and counting until POE! :D

Yay! Congratulations!!!!!! I am so so happy for you :dancing: 17 months - that's crazy :wow: I wish you a smooth POE! See y'all in Texas. Let me know whenever you make it to San Antonio sometime, given that I am hopefully there by that time :D

I am not sure if the embassy in Frankfurt is the same but at least in Paris, they changed the system and I was told today at the embassy in Paris that I did not have to buy a prepared envelop but instead resister the mailing address online. I paid 26 euro for nothing.

You may want to double-check with the embassy in Germany.

Merci beaucoup!!! I think they changed the system here as well. And congratulations on your approval! :) I hope you celebrated it with a nice bottle of champagne ;)

  5. I am slightly confused now with the interview just being 1 week away

I read someone's interview review from yesterday (for Frankfurt, also CR-1) and he mentioned that he had to bring a large envelope with prepaid postage, so the visa documents would be sent back to him.

But I registered on ustraveldocs last week and it said this in the overview: "You do not have to pay for this free delivery service; no extra fees are associated with this service."

I am kinda clueless right now. Does anyone know if the embassies got rid of the prepaid postage requirement? It's not mentioned in the current interview checklist (Aug 2014) anymore.

Oh my, I can't for these sudden panic attacks about the interview to be over :bonk:

  6. If I were you, I'd go for Germany. And I agree with Ebunoluwa concerning all the evidence you should prepare.

Both COs - whether you'll have your interview in Trinidad or Germany - will know about the previous denial since it'll show in their electronic system. But Germany is a low-fraud country and I think if you can really prove that your bar was revoked and that you have a bonafide relationship with your fiance, you might get approved faster and more easily in Germany than in Trinidad and Tobago.

  7. Hey strawberry, sorry to bother you again, I just saw you already had your medical exam done so I wanted to ask you about it. Did you get the results given to you or do they send it directly to the consulate. And how far in advance do you think I should wait to do the Medical? :)

No problem ;) I am glad to help!

I had my medical done in Frankfurt since it was the closest physician to me and they do walk-ins (no appointment needed). Their office actually sends the results directly to the embassy, so it only takes 2-3 business days for them to receive those documents. I would recommend doing the medical 2 weeks before the interview at the latest. I mean 1 week before would probably still be fine as well, but to me it's just cutting it too close in case there is a problem (but that's just my opinion since I am just a very cautious person :D ). Altogether, I was there for about 50 mins only.

This just refers to my experience in Frankfurt. I don't know how other physicians handle the medical.

  8. VISA IN HAND!

2 business days after approval at the interview!

We had selected the $30 home delivery option with DX courier. The packet arrived just a few minutes shy of 11am UK time. Aside from the courier email yesterday, we never received any tracking information by SMS, phone, or email.

Tomorrow will be 14 months to the day that we mailed the I-130 petition.

Okay I panicked prematurely so let's retry that!

I had my interview today and I was approved - yay!

    :)

What wonderful news! Congrats to both of you! :)

  9. ok ….just finished reading all 16 pages for the december interview thread…took me some time…. :content:

The interview is on Dec 8 and starting to compile all the paperwork for the interview. I realized like Ketsuban, I followed my lawyers advice when submitting for I-130 and didn't submit pics etc for our relationship, just the required documents. So making a thick folder of our travel through the last 2 years from Montreal-NYC (we visited each other every other weekend)…lots of $$$$$$…photos, bank accounts, credit cards, living will etc. Hopefully the CO will give us a chance to submit documents there, IF NEEDED. Who knows!!

I still have to do the medical, rent out my apartment, give official notice at the job, sell everything at my place, close all accounts.. Damn….this is becoming crazzzzy!!!! :girlwerewolf2xn:

Same here. So I just printed out our itineraries, gift/purchase receipts etc. That alone should be around 3 inches of paper sheets :) Not sure if it all fits into my folder

During the USCIS/NVC process I was thinking time couldn't fly fast enough. But now it's like, wow, my interview is next week and damn, I am not done organizing all the relationship evidence yet :dead::whistle:

    Good luck with everything!!

  10. Mine took about 3 days to get sent to me. As for validity, I am pretty sure they told me six months back in 2012, but the current checklist says 12 months. If not sure, you can always e-mail the consulate.

PS: StrawberryKiss, this is an old checklist from 2010. They seem to change it around every couple of months -_- This is the most recent checklist that I have found: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/frankfurt/9318/consular_pdf/Instructions%20for%20IV%20and%20K%20Visa%20Applicants.pdf

Oh ok. Thanks! :) I had looked around, but couldn't find a more recent checklist for OP.

  11. Awww StrawberryKiss thank you so much I'm honored you would think of me. I need prayers so badly not only to get out of NVC but God willing to not be put in AP.

Again thank you and your always in my thoughts and prayers. t4582.gif

Of course! (L) I hope you won't have to undergo AP. This unfair process of tearing up couples and families needs to stop

Thankyou so much ebu! And all other who just prayed for both of us! It means a lottt to us. And yes I m praying it's the last month for us at Nvc!! It's getting unbearable now. Thankyou VJ family for remembering and rooting for us. Luv u all! (L):luv:

You are in my thoughts as well. I am really hoping for good news for you this week!!

    PS: I LOVE coriander! :P:rofl:

  12. Mine also took like 3 business days.

The information you can find about police certificates is indeed confusing. In my interview letter it says you're fine if your police certificate is not older than 1 year, however, if you check out the checklists on their website, it says "A certificate issued by the police authorities where you now reside must be of recent date, preferably within the last six months, when presented to the consular officer." So I just decided to get a new one.

  13. That's awesome! I should wait getting excited but it's so hard not to! Hopefully I will hear something from them soon. Thank you so much your comment! I got motivated again:)

I am glad to hear that! You are very welcome :) Just call NVC on Monday to make sure.

You should also receive a case complete e-mail from NVC approximately 1 week after your CC date. Maybe you are lucky and will get scheduled for a December interview.

You should join the interview thread. There are other people from Japan waiting for their interviews to be scheduled as well ;)
