Hi, I am new and hoping to learn from others experiences. I am a Canadian engaged to an American citizen and we share a son. I am currently going back and forth between Canada and US. We're thinking of getting married and then filling for sponsorship. Is the I130 the correct form? Help we're clueless!

Hi, thank you for responding. Our son is actually a US citizen also. So his status is not an issue. I am in the US now but will be leaving at the end of my 6 month visit and will return in a month or so. We want to get married while our child is still young. This is why we are considering the I130 instead of k1.
