We had the same problem, we were given a 221G form for a missing document ( marriage certificate ). we submitted it and actually it took only 2 days to change from AP to issued. Just wait it will soon change to issued.

On the ELIS website, i uploaded copy of my passport in other to put my full name , address and other details there. I entered on November 21st through JFK and I paid for the ELIS on November 30th and it got optimized on the 17th, card mailed on the 18th and i got it on the 19th. I t was mailed from TN and it took only two days to arrive in AL. I guess I was lucky and maybe i uploaded all the informations. I really don't know

I got my 10 years green card yesterday, I am very happy. everything took 19 days from the payment day till i get the green card

I forgot to write this, anyone who has a changed of address should make sure he or she asked the officer at the POE to check their address on the database to be sure its the correct one. My husband asked this and the stupid USCIS hasnt changed it despite the fact that i changed the address using the AR-1 on their website. But luckily for him the officer changed it at the point of entry and fingerprinted him . then he was taken inside by this same officer into the secondary office where he just entered and signed and his passport was stamped. that is all.

My husband arrived yesterday night. i still can't believe he is here. wow am very happy. he told me that he spent only 10 minutes at the point of entry, he showed them the envelope and he was processed immediately and was told to expect the SSN in the mail and the 10 years between 30 - 45 days.. But we will go to the SSN office next week to apply for one. But nevertheless i want to enjoy my time with my husband. My mom loves him so much and couldn't let go after we pick him up at the airport. We are now on our way to watch a football game.... I'm very happy

StrawberryKissYou don't have to be worried at all. Just give it to the immigration officer the way they've sent it to you. Congratulations

NikiTYou must not open it. We were given the same envelopes. they joined two envelopes together but on the second one was a white paper attached to it and in there was the name of the embassy, my husband name, the address, the ir1 visa category and also the scanned picture on this paper. my husband had to call the embassy and he was told that he should no open any of these envelopes and he should deliver it to the immigration officer at the POE the way they have sent it to him. So I urge you never to open it. they have already cut edge of the envelope in other to let you know what that the document inside the envelope is your information. So therefore do not open it.

Smoochies2011Regarding your question, the embassy is right. Getting an IR-1 visa means once you pay for the immigrant fee which is 165 dollars , then you will be given a 10 years green card which means a permanent residence because your marriage is more than 2 years old which means you don't have to remove condition. Marriage less than two years means CR-1 green card that is on condition. So having an IR-1 means you wont remove condition. We also have an IR-1 visa, we are in the same shoe..lol. Regarding what will happen at the POE, you will be given an envelope , this envelope you must give it to the officer at the POE and you must not open this envelope, only the immigration officer at the POE will open it and then process you. They will stamp your passport, upon your entry, the IR-1 visa is valid for one year but actually before the expiration of this visa, you will have gotten your 10 year green card in the mail. yes you can work immediately. You just have to go to SSN office and apply for one but if you tick yes on your DS 260 for them to send you the SSN, then they will send it but as for me, once my husband arrive we will not wait , we will go to SSN office the following day to get that done as soon as possible. that is all. Wow am very happy because my husband is coming home, i am just not satisfied with the way the house is, i have been cleaning since three days ago. lol i feel like it should be like a palace.. i started decorating it and sometimes i wonder if am going crazy... have spent 15 hours learning yoruba my husband language during my free time just to be able to surprise my husband, infact i am very happy... His cars that he bought for us ( one for him and one for me ) i cant even drive it because have always been crying cos my Oko mi is not here with me. I can't wait to drive mine for the first time to the airport to pick him up. My mother in law sent me Nigerian native dress and we decided not let him know, am gonna be putting it on when his plane touch down by 10.25 pm. oh i cant wait.........I'm glad that my joy is coming back............tired of seeing him on skype...
