  1. By the way, we did not even send in half of the evidence you had and had no problems at the interview....tax returns, a few pics, a short summary of the last two years, our holiday cards, one letter from a friend, joint checking account, driver's lic., gym membership, letter from work saying my wife has health, dental and life insurance on both of us, letter from city explaining they do not do joint utilities...that is it.  Sounds like a crazy mistake to me.

I hope everything works out for you.

  2. I went to Omaha today for my N-400/I-751 interview (although they never actually said they were combining the two interviews).  Interview took just over 30 minutes.  Got the first six questions right along with the first sentences in the reading and writing parts.   Then I was asked some general questions about my I-751 application mostly they were reviews of the evidence that had been submitted.  The IO said I passed and was recommending my N-400 application for approval pending quality review. She said my oath ceremony will be sometime this summer in Lincoln.  Almost finished!!

  3. Hi All!  I just wanted to let everyone know that I got my interview scheduled for May 24, 2018.  I mailed my initial package to Phoenix on March 1, 2018.  Then I got my biometrics done in Omaha the last week of March.  I scheduled an infopass appointment for tomorrow to get my stamp since my 751 extension letter is expiring and they have not adjudicated that yet...actually I have not heard anything on that for over a year. Then a couple days after that I got a letter in the mail scheduling my interview May 24th,  The only thing that showed up online was that my 821 had been approved, but I never applied for an 821....so I guess we will find out what is going at the infopass appointment.  Anyway it looks like  naturalization is moving faster than green card renewal.

  4. It is my understanding that removal of conditions and naturalization are separate processes and that  I can apply for naturalization while waiting for my ten year green card.  Is this correct?

It seems like I might have read a story somewhere that said I had to have my new green card before applying for naturalization, but I thought most of the stories said they were not dependent upon each other.  Thanks for your wonderful expertise and advice!

  5. Read this site...http://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-parents

Clearly citizenship is not automatic at birth....as USCIS states: There are two general ways to obtain citizenship through U.S. citizen parents, one at birth and one after birth but before the age of 18.

If it was automatic, it would not have to be obtained.

    .

Wrong. US citizenship IS automatic at birth for almost all children born abroad to US citizens.

  6. Citizenship is not automatic for children born abroad. This site should be helpful... http://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-parents

Once she has her US passport, she can take that along with her foreign born birth certificate to get SSA offices and apply for her SSN.

Looks like you need to adjust your status as I assume you are here on a tourist visa.

    Good luck.

  7. Dear moustafa I really appreciate your assistance. I applied for the I130 and now it is pending Receipt number is: LIN1591455084. Do I need to Re-apply for I129 because it is the same form submitted before as a fiance visa form that has been approved and is already at the NVC center. I've been waiting for this since last year. I wish i known she would have already been hear. I just need her to be safe here with me and you know how difficult for me to live overseas especially at this time. Any recommendations will be appreciated. I'm afraid that I might lose her because she waited a full year and I'm not sure how to tell her that it may need to be another year before I can see her again please advise.

If you have sent in your 130 petition..you are on your way. You might try contacting your congress person to get your application processed faster.

If your EAD is lost, stolen or destroyed, it may be replaced by filing a new Form I-765 and filing fee, unless a fee waiver is requested and approved. However, dependents of certain foreign governments, international organizations, and NATO personnel are not required to pay a fee for a replacement EAD.

Eligibility Categories for the Form I-765

Please see the Form I-765 instructions for a complete list of eligibility categories. You may also find eligibility categories in section 274a.12, title 8 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Hi everyone, i lost my wallet today which contains my EAD, SSN CARD, License, and some other personal stuffs....i would like to know how to go about getting my EAD back. Any insight on what forms to fill or documents will be greatly appreciated. thanks

  9. Yes, CR1/IR1 is the I-130 along with the G-325A's, evidence of a bona fide marriage, and various other documents.

I would think Syrians could apply for refugee status, but I think this is a long slow process. If you talk to people from Somalia, they will tell you about years and years of waiting for refugee status in the USA and traveling through several different countries to get here.

My guess and it is only a guess is that going the CR1 route with help from your congressman would be the fastest.

A non-expedited CR1 takes 8 to 14 months. I would expect and expedite would be faster as long as you have all the necessary documentation ready to go.

CR1 goese hand in hand with I30 form? someone mentioned something as RFE from the embassy when applying for I30 not sure what he meant. I was also reading something about a refuge visa that you can apply for a spouce any ideas or recomendation? Thank you very much moustafa.

  10. Get your AOS/IV packet ready to go. When you get your bar coded sheet from your AOS fee payment, send in the packet in...on envelope all two hole punched at the top bound together with an ACCO binder. Then pay the IV fee and fill out the 260 when it becomes available. Wait for case complete and then interview date.

  11. Lots of people change addresses. I have not. But, I recall seeing a link several times where I could enter a change of address. I would just use my parents address as there are only a couple of things sent by mail, and would be more likely to get to your parents' house then yours.

You can request to have your interview in any country. Several people change countries during the process.

There are plenty of places to slow down the process at the NVC. Then the visa is good for six months.
