My parents DQ was April 2020 as well and still waiting for interview date. Have you gotten one yet?

As you guys may be aware IR5 is on hold under Presidential EO till 2021 (there is BAN / hold no new visa will be issued). Other than this they are prioritizing IR1/CR1 for obvious reasons (spouse).

 

I guess we will just have to wait till when there is an update...

Hello, I have applied for my parents visa IR5. The case was completed and qualified at nvc on April 2021. Have been waiting for interview since then. Has anyone else here gotten interview letter for their parents visa?  I am US citizen

Okay. It's just that currently Mumbai seems to be taking a lot of time to schedule interviews. Don't know what is wrong with it.

Don't worry when you're CC is done you'll get it soon!

So after we get case complete, we can just schedule our Visa Interviews on our own?

I am guessing that is only available for the nonimmigrant visas.

you cant schedule visa interview on your own, after CC you have to wait foe few days, NVC will sent your File to Mumbai consulate and they will schedule your interview.

once your interview has been scheduled you will receive email conformation and your P4/interview letter.

Congrats those who got approved...

Today my husband had an interview ..He didn't get declined but they gave 221g white paper..They told my hubby to dropoff the joint sponsor..I dont understand why they are not checking the current income..They checked the 2014 tax returns and saying the sponsor is not making enough so ask him to dropoff the joint sponsor paper works...Its under AP now..Even if I submit in 2 weeks ..how long its going to take ...someone please answer this..

Hi guys, We have interview at Mumbai in June, I have quick question, do we need to take biometrics only one day before? Also, In Mumbai is biometrics location is same as interview location?

You can take appointment for biometrics whenever you want. Which i assume you must have taken by now.

And the address is different for biometrics but its near to the consulate though.

I just arrived in India yesterday for my husband's interview on the 18th in Mumbai. I/we hope to be returning on the same flight on May 28th

Yes I received my visa packet and passport after 3 days of my interview!

You see that on which site? Assuming not CEAC, but either the ustraveldoc or cgifederal.

Please keep us posted when status changes to shipped. Curious how long it takes to ship out after Consulate office is done. Also, if it's shipped overnight or not.

good news -> Case status went from "AP" -> "Issued" today for me as well!

On the 3rd Working day:

CEAC (Dept Of State) shows NVC Case # status with

- "Case Creation Date" of May 06

- "Case Update" Date as today May 07

- Status changed from "Administrative Processing" => "Issued"

The website for "cgifederal" where you book your interview and fingerprint shows

"Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate"

US Travel Docs Passport Tracker (for non-immigrant K-1 visa) at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-passporttrack.aspalso shows: " Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate"

I'm translating that to mean passport and docs have not shipped to the designated pickup center (HYD for me).

My status today shows your passport hwithhas been received from consular section and currently being processed for delivery.

Congrats on the CEAC message update to Visa Issues diyap

Evidently, when the consulate says "You're Approved" doesnt mean it's all done. My case went into "Administrative Processing" with the CEAC date Case Creation Date changing from the original middle-of-March to now showing May 06

I called the visa services number and they said it can take up to 60 days. kheir.

Congratulations! very happy for you and yours.

Last week during the interview, my fiancee also walked out empty handed so dont worry.

Note, they said it would take 2-3 working days to get the passport. Today is the 3rd day and it's still in the US Consulate but finally the CEAC status shows a change from the interview date to today with status as "Administrative Processing".

Hang in there, the main part is done. Now the difficult part knowing the visa is approved -> waiting for the reunion.

That's kind of relief. .

Ohg today my CEAC shows issued.

Hope get my passport soon and finally both of us can be reunited.

What did they tell you? Did you pass the interview? Did they mention a period of Administrative Processing?

Yes I was approved and they told me you will get your visa within a week to the location you have selected. No AP thet told me rigjt away that I am all set and approved

You should receive this packet with your visa when it is returned via the courier service used by your embassy. you should have set this up when you went for your interview,
