  1. No, as we did not get any instructions or any notice asking for payment. How much is the fee and what is the name of the fee? Our visa stamps don't have A numbers on them (only Registration Numbers) so we have no way to check. The website asks for both the Case number and A number. Our status on the Department of State website showed the cases were transferred to National Visa Center a long time ago. Is there any other way to check whether we have any outstanding items before we can receive the actual cards?

You would think the consular or the officer at the port of entry should tell us if we have not done it all. Instead, the officer at POE just told us to wait for the card in mail and that we should be receiving it in a month.

    I am literally freaking out...

  2. Parents entered the US with immigrant visa (category IR) on Dec.4, 2017. The process was a breeze through and the officer told them the plastic green cards should arrive within a month. No where in any document nor from anybody that talked with them told them they need to pay any more fees. On their visa stamp, there's only a registration number so I couldn't help them check whether there's any fee due (the website asks for A number which they don't have).

Please help! Do we need to do anything at this point?

  3. Passed my interview on 4/18 at the Philly office. Although there were three ceremonies held they weren't able to slot me in. I took two little kids with me and drove for 4 hours. They were nice enough to try to schedule the oath at the courthouse near where I live, it will be three weeks away. The IO said the oath letter will follow but the time and date are confirmed. Very very efficient and helpful, couldn't have expected better.

Extremely nice officer. Arrived 40 mins earlier than the appointment and got called in after going through reception at the 1st and then 2nd floor. Waited for 20 mins or so before getting called in. The interview lasted for about 15 mins. Got sworn in and asked questions on the N400. No surprises at all.

    US Civics:

    1. What is the one promise you made when you become a US citizen

    2. Who's the father of our country

    3. Who's the governor

    4. Where's the Statue of Liberty

    5. Who's the first president

    6. I forgot...

English: the president lives in the White House

Then asked to confirm the spelling of my name on the certification sheet. That was it. Hope this is helpful.

Let me know if you have any question, time for me to pay it forward.

  7. I've noticed on trackkitt that Philadelphia used to hand the oath letters to those who pass interviews the same day but recently it seems that they ask the to-be citizens to wait for 30-45 days before the oath letter can be sent.

I'm super worried now as my interview date in 4/18 but I'm leaving the country on 5/19 for 2 months. I have the flight ticket booking, would it help if I show that to the IO and ask if I can take the earlier oath date? Plus Philly office is 4 hrs of driving for me....

Anybody can share their experience in this regard?

  8. Does anybody know how frequent the Philly office has the oath ceremony? My status changed to "interview scheduled" on 3/11 and I'm waiting for the letter; I guess the interview date will fall between 4/5-4/18. The problem is that I will be traveling in mid May, I hope I have enough time to get it all done before I leave the country for 2.5 months...

  9. Thank you so much nounou11!!!

Hi,neofatty, and ofcourse i will give you the number... in my situation i couldn't find any of my paid ticket receipt,so i called a court in the L.A county(each court can access any record of any other court) . I told the lady that i lost my receipts numbers and she asked me my name and licence number to cross-searh me, and she said that i have a clean record with all the court in L.A because i paid my tickets and she said she will send me a copy that certifies that and with the seal of the court on it..she said that must be enough to prove that your tickets are all paid otherwise you would have been in big trouble...i already received the letter she sent me,all good to go...so explain your situation...the numbers are 213-974-6068 or 6078 or 6077.. it will all work out...

  10. I have the exact same problem nounou11. I had several tickets, all minor traffic violations more than 5 yrs ago in LA. I have requested the CA driving record and it shows I'm "clean" ( no record found). Do I need to go that extra step to call the courts? I was trying to find the right number to call. Can you share the contact information?? Thanks.

Hi everybody,i received my yellow letter on feb 24 asking me to bring my state issued driver licence.. so i called the court of los angeles county to get the court disposition of my paid tickets to show during interview.. the said she will be glad to do that for me..very nice lady btw...so she asked me my name and licence number..we spent about 20 min on the phone...she couldn't find anything.. and i said every court and she said she looked into the whole L.A county courts...she said don't worry it is actually good news,it means you are cleared and she said she is sending me an official letter with the court seal on it to show during n400 interview.. and she said it is self explanatory,if ever there was any kind of unpaid citation of any kind, there would be a warrant for my arrest and wouldn't be able to renew my licence..and shw said tell them that.. so at the end she said i will receive the letter on friday...so what do you guys think?

  11. Question:

Got a yellow letter requesting me to bring my driver's license and all old passports. Is this common? I've heard people saying they need to bring driver's license, but do you also get request for old passports? Maybe it's because I traveled a lot to different countries? (all under 6 months though). Appreciate any response.

  12. I've been reading posts but haven't got a chance to make a post. So here is my status:

Sent in my N400 on 12/19/13 under 5yr rule, 90 days in advance of my eligible date

    Received by USCIS on 12/27/13

    Fingerprint notice received on 1/7/14

    Fingerprint done on 1/24/14

In line for interview on 2/18/14, exactly a month before the eligibility date

Yellow letter received on 2/18/14(dated 2/11/14) asking for drivers license and old passports

Waiting for the interview letter. My district office would be in Philly.
