Hey,
Congratulations! I was approved on Tuesday and had the same thing. For some reason (impatience probably!) I checked on Wednesday morning and they had updated it to 'issued'. Now just waiting for the courier email....itchy feet!!!! So don't worry at all :-)

CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!
(with happiness)
THANK YOU each and everyone of you, for although I may not have posted much, I've always found answers to the questions I've had, and It has been a saving grace to know we are not in it alone and to read the help and support from fellow visa applicants. I know it's not over yet, but this is a huge hurdle which could not have been achieved without you...thank you. My best wishes to everyone and fingers remain continually crossed for all enduring this awful process. Best of luck and thanks again xxx- STACEY&MISHO and Soloenta

Hello! So...does anyone else find that each time they call to get a case update the operator gives different dates? I find it quite funny. I'm just waiting (agonisingly) for them to review an amended AOS (I hope it's correct this time I think I'll cry buckets if not!!!) ...they say 30 days from the date they give me, then each operator gives me a new date. Don't they realise I sit and count 30 business days on the calendar, and a 5 day difference adds a whole week on ;-) !!!! (I know I'm terrible at the waiting game, I have to do the figures). Siiiiggghhhh.......
On a positive note; HUGE congratulations to all the recent case completes and as always, a massive good luck to those still waiting :-) -
Congratulations! Just to echo what other people said really...first we had to get the marriage license which was at one of the court offices in the main building. This cost a fee and a couple of forms but nothing major and we could pick it up 48hrs later. When we were there the lady asked if we wanted a list of judges who perform the ceremony - this had names and numbers of their offices on, then we just called and arranged. Fees wise, this probably differs by state but it was at the discretion of the judge in this instance. So if you ask the court house in your area, I would think that they should be able to provide the same sort of information, as I'm sure they get a lot of requests. Good luck and congratulations again!!! :-)

Same problem - no idea why. When it was closed due to weather they had a pre-recorded message, so it's a little odd. I've been on and off trying (just to even get through) for the last hour or so. I wonder if anybody has managed to get through at all today...

thanks friends for your response and help.
Can someone list the documents that will be requiere at NVC when letter is recieved?
It's somewhere on VJ ...BUT in a nutshell, after the DS-261 (choice of agent) and AOS fee, your husband (he's the petitioner right?) needs to submit the AOS form, he'll need a tax transcript for last year (but he can order the last three years to prove financial stability if he likes) and evidence of income, such as a letter from employer/pay slips.
After the IV fee bill has been paid, you need to fill-in DS-260 and send supporting docs which include; original/certified copy of birth certificate, marriage certificate, police record, photocopy of biographic data page in passport, 2 US standard photos and it is recommended that you send a photocopy of original documents that you will want back such as birth and marriage cert....You might need to check if the Managua embassy/consulate have any additional instructions as well which you can do here; http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit.html
Make sure you sign-up for email notifications (do this by phone it's quicker), then the NVC will email you instructions rather than post which will be much quicker, however, it is useful to read the guides and shortcuts at the top of the forums here, as sometimes you can do things without necessarily waiting for notifications from them.
It's definitely worth assembling these things now if you haven't already, otherwise you might still be waiting for them when you're able to submit them which then holds things up...

Ahw congrats!!! Brilliant news! :-D...won't be much longer now!

Oh, GOD yes!! Can you imagine EVER eating a lame, frozen patty EVER again!!???
I live in the Kansas City area - where BBQ is king. Yep, that'd sure be missed.
And where I'm from "Septic Tank" = "Yank." Not a member of any other forums anywhere. Facebook and VJ. That's it.
When I finally get over there, I'm looking forward to some KC Gates & Arthur Bryant's BBQ again! Been a long time...nothing close over here...now I'm hungry just thinking about it...
I also miss velveeta. This is awful, I know, but when you want a quick meal, 'double Gloucester & mac' just doesn't cut it...AND thanks to the cheesecake factory, I haven't eaten cheesecake in the UK for 7 years. There is just no point. At least my arteries are somewhat the healthier?!?!?! :-)

Can someone please help us.
I am the beneficiary living abroad. Its been since January 27, 2014 the USCIS approved my I-130 petition, they shipped it to the NVC on the 18 of february and on the 27 of february NVC received the approved petition.
up to now we are still waiting for NVC to send us something or even the letter. My husband the petitioner has been calling the NVC almost every week and the last time he called they told him they received it but it is not in system as yet. Why these people work so slow? this situation is very frustrating. Its been almost a year now since we filed. on may 20, 2013 we filed and its very frustrating, after the USCIS took so long to approve it.and now the NVC has to take another long process to get started.
Hi, I feel your pain! Basically, you know how there was the big hold-up at USCIS and then they forwarded some petitions to other places to get them moving a bit quicker? The flurry of approved petitions have been forwarded on to the NVC, so the back log has just been shifted from USCIS to NVC...incredibly frustrating. Add a couple of NVC closures due to bad weather and it has all meant that things are taking so much longer than it would normally.
If they received it on the 27th Feb and they're still using the 20-30 business days time frame - you're entering that now. If possible call every day or every other day from this point. Once they say you have the case #, ask for the invoice identification # straight away and also give them your email addresses for email correspondence - if you wait for letters, you will be waiting forever!
Once you have the case# and Invoice ID# - follow the guide and go to CEAC site and continue there. Just be aware that it is taking longer than usual for them to invoice, receive payment and allow access to forms. However, if you follow the steps and use Visa Journey help you should save some time by having all the documents ready in advance. If you haven't done this already - use the time now to gather all the stuff you and your husband need to complete the process without having to wait additionally for documents. It also helps with the waiting if you feel you are doing something constructive.
I have a friend who also had her petition received at the NVC around the same time as you and she hasn't had her case# yet either, you're certainly not alone. Which doesn't help, but may be of some comfort!!!
Best of luck to you, I will keep my fingers crossed :-)

YAY! Invoice and CEAC came through today
. Thanks for the advice and support - it really is helpful knowing people are in the same boat and it isn't just us. Good luck all.

calling in the last hour they are open (8 pm PST) seems to work ok for me; still have to hold for about 20 minutes though
I'm the same - I've called during the times they say are best and I've managed to get through. When I've had to call during 'busy' times I've literally just kept calling and usually after a few dials I've managed to slot in to the system. Luckily, I haven't had to wait very long for a rep, but I still find myself repeating what they say whilst you wait..."your call is very important to us and we look forward to speaking with you!" ;-)
Persistence is key! That and the redial button...

Got access to the DS-260! Hopefully will have it submitted today.
Congratulations! That's awesome! You'll have your visa in no time :-)
Still waiting for the fee to be invoiced...Business day 13 and feels like 90. I don't get it...out of all the steps and this is taking the second longest?! Ahhhhh!!!!! :-)
-
Argh! It's so frustrating isn't it!!! I think I'm at roughly the same place as you Angela...and losing patience (well I think I've lost it to be fair). So we're looking at 10-15 business days from DS261 submission? I sent my civil documents to my husband but I think that was just in an effort to feel like I was getting somewhere. The plan is for him to 'overnight' them once the IV bit gets underway...Keep smiling eh!
. I hope your bill comes through quickly - will keep fingers crossed for us all!!!
-
They said the same to me two days ago; even though it had been 20 business days, due to the hold ups with weather and stuff it was going to take longer. I called today on a whim and he gave me a case number though!!! I don't think I've ever been this excited about a few numbers and letters...Don't worry, it will process soon

Hi!
Just thought I'd mention, we received notice that it was being forwarded to NVC on Jan 7th and so I called them today. They received it Jan 16th but a case# hasn't been assigned yet...lady said it would take between 10 and 20 business days so I guess i'll try again in a week or so. At least I know it's in the building (as she put it!).
Fingers crossed for fast processing to everyone :-)
visa approved but!!!

That's cool London2Boston! I just received an email to say that I can collect it on Monday! So excited!!! Congratulations to you too :-)
I-130 - it won't be long. Let us know when it turns to 'issued', we'll keep fingers crossed, but it can't be long now, so don't worry :-)
