My husband completed his biometrics for citizenship in Aug.2016. We have checked his online account every week since then and there has been no change, is this typical or could there be something wrong? How long does it normally take after biometrics to hear anything back or get an interview? Any answers would be appreciated, we called the USCIS 3 months ago and they said there was nothing wrong, I plan on calling them again today.
There is probably not anything wrong. It's just USCIS has recently been given countless new reasons to be even slower than they already were. We're all screwed in this together.

Congrats on your marriage by the way OP!

I came to the US from Canada on October 1, married my husband on October 15 and had my AOS/EAD/AP applications filed on November 16. I recently noticed that I had made some errors on my i765 and i485.
On the 765 I put the wrong eligibility category. On the 485, where it asked for the visa number, I incorrectly put the "document control number." I called customer service and they couldn't do anything over the phone and advised I send in a written letter.
I have sent in 2 separate letters to the NBC in MO to explain the error and request that they make the amendment.
My questions are:
1.) is this sufficient to remedy the errors or should I be very concerned it will result in a denial of both?
2.) More importantly with respect to the 485, if denied, can I refile asap and still be protected? It would not be feasible for me to return to Canada and go down the spousal visa route.
3.) Would it serve any benefit to visit infopass to explain in person?
Thank you so much for any help/advice. This community has been a tremendous help through the whole journey thus far.
My husband keeps telling me to relax that we'll figure it out, but I am so upset with myself over the silly mistakes.
Coulda happened to anybody. Worst case scenario is they give you an RFE. You're going about it the right way trying to fix it. An Infopass may not be a bad idea.

What you said.
I assume OP didn't know about the ticket because it wasn't given during a traffic stop. It was likely a traffic cam ticket. OP, can you confirm? I think those are handled differently than one given by a peace officer.

HI! Thanks for all your responses. To answer your questions, we met online accidentally in June 2016 and as a couple in Oct 2016. He came over and visited me in Dec 2016 and from there we really hit it off. would that be a red flag because of the short timeframe that we have known each other? we're planning to file it this march since his divorced will be released the same month. Plus i have 1 unpaid traffic ticket, i was unable to pay it becausse i was already in the phils when they sent it to my old address, only a friend told me about it and the car i drove at that time had been sold. Just want everything to clear before we finally file everything. please enlighten me
I hope you don't have a warrant for that. How old is it?

Make sure you meet in person if you haven't already. That's a requirement for the I-129F.
If you haven't met, personally worry about meeting and see where your relationship goes from there. Talking about marriage after knowing someone for four months and (maybe) not having met them in person yet, can be a pretty red flaggy thing.
Personally out of everything you said, your short meeting time is more of a red flag than anything else. USCIS should know about you coming in on a tourist and changing to student, they may not know about your checking account or Drivers license, but it's their job to know about your past visas.
Filing shortly after a divorce isn't always a red flag, it depends on time known each other and if there is anything else odd with the case.I bought the ring I intended to propose to my then-fiancee with after only knowing her online for about 3.5 months. She came to visit about 2 weeks after that for about 10 days. I proposed about halfway in. Then filed about 2 weeks later. In other words, we only knew each other 4 months when I filed. When you know, you know.

It was not mentioned at any point during my interview or at POE, no pamphlets either
Weird. Maybe it'####### or miss.

I also was given a pamphlet about abuse and what my rights would be before the interview. I dont know if in other countries it is written in the native language, or if the beneficiary can't read if someone can read it to them.
My then-fiancee's was in her native tongue.

Is this something new?
Why would they be handed something like that before the visa has even been granted?
Curious about it.
I can confirm it. My wife was given that the day she received her K-1 in Frankfurt. They really stressed to her the importance of knowing that she has options besides feeling trapped in an abusive situation. Even during her POE, the customs people were like "and how long have you known this guy? You know he could be a killer or something right?"

Still feel something is missing. I just read all the posts by the OP a 2nd time and I'm not being accusatory here but the only denial that any of these accusations actually happened was something to the effect of "I didn't do anything to deserve any of this". But fights were specifically mentioned. What kind of fights are we talking about? Verbal arguments? How heated? Physical? How so?
I'm just asking these questions because I struggle to believe someone can completely flip like that if it was a very loving, nurturing marriage. Something is amiss. Guess I'm the only one that thinks so.

There is a lot of missing story here. Can you start with that?
Like how did you guys get separated? Why is she with her parents and not with you? For starters.

My question Is I'm pending for my naturalization case and when I'm done I want to sponsor my mom my problems is I don't work I work last year and only made 8,000 me and my husband have the taxes married filing together and of course he made much more so I can count as my income too the total of the income tax o just my 8,000 please help thanks
Maybe an admin can move this topic so you can get actual help. You posted it into the AoS section. None of us are to Naturalization yet, so probably won't be of much help. It needs to be posted in the US Citizenship General Discussion section.

OP, your wife seems to have been more secure than she is now. My recommendation is to figure out what's making her insecure. Likely, it's something completely unrelated to the whole kids topic in general. Sometimes when generally upset about something, you crush someone's dreams instead of just telling them what's really going on. I think instead of her telling you what her problem is, she's trying to hurt you. You should dig.
-
OP, you'll be fine. When I met my now wife, I was not even divorced from my ex 1 month and proposed to her less than 5 months after my divorce. USCIS does not care about that. Good points by Cruise and Penguin though.

EAD can absolutely be expedited if a job offer letter is provided from the employer wanting to hire.
Apologies OP.
-
Hello all,I'm just about filing to adjust status to that of a permanent resident. .my question is, can i expedite my employment authorization document...reason is, i have some job offers and dont want to loose them..also is it mandatory to apply for advanced parole in conjunction with the green card and ead card? I don't see myself traveling anytime soon out of the u.s
I don't know of a way to expedite EAD. It only makes sense to apply for Advanced Parole in conjunction with EAD. Otherwise you can't travel in case of emergency until GC received.

The OP responded 4 posts after that...
& directly quoted me in my same accusation. Not that that in and of itself proves anything.

Please, do yourself a HUGE favor and stop talking to this woman!
She is obviously a scammer: 1) It sounds like they didn't know each other that well, I mean, come on, she didn't even know his profession?!, still they got married. 2) She obviously is NOT in love with him if she dumps him because "he is just a plumber". 3) She just applied for K1 visa to get a way into USA: if you're actually in love and it doesn't work out with your new husband for whatever reason (which, by the way, IMO would take more than one week to know), you would just LEAVE the USA, because theoretically you only decided to move there FOR LOVE: but no, she is trying to stay no matter what, which I think is proof enough that was her actual goal from the beginning, and just used this guy as a means to achieve it. 4) The "He made me eat American food" part is a joke, right?
If I were you I would block her straightaway, so that she stops harassing you. Do not get involved with her and by all means do not shelter her, or you could potentially be accused of helping an illegal immigrant stay in the USA, which obviously wouldn't be great for you.
You don't really know her, just through Facebook. There're a lot of liars out there. Just block her, take care of yourself, and focus on your own journey. Good luck!
Agreed. OP, stop being curious about what happens to her, unless you're her.

Concur with the other recent remarks. This girl got what she wanted & that was a legal way into America. She will now integrate into the illegal Dominican population in NY. Nothing you can do at this point. Let her "enjoy" her life & you please return to yours. Also, be careful who you try to help. I stay away from immigration groups on FB. Anything immigration related, I stay on this site. Occasionally people IM me for real help & I happily oblige. In my time on this site, I've never been asked to help someone scam the system.

OP, yes, you're overthinking. The process you're going through is the quickest process to becoming one with your overseas family. You have many emotions right now. But I know things will get better for you when you're all together. It will not be easy but it will get better.
USCS doesn't care how long it's been between visits. Only that you've met within 2 years of the application date.
-
OP, your biggest hurdle is the lengthy divorce proceeding in Canada, or at least that portion of CA. I don't know if it's the same throughout the country. Then, as others said, fastest route is the I-129F.
-
My divorce was final only 5 months prior to my I-129 application for my now wife. Also, I'm 9.5 years older. USCIS did not care.
-
My thoughts are that your husband is still religiously or ceremonially married to the mother of his children. But as it was not a western, european, or asian marriage, it is not on official books. That's why he was officially single to marry you. He has a very lengthy plan and you need a safe place to go or an enforcer to remove him from your home & file a restraining order for starters. He will get violent when he catches on to the fact that you want him gone & have no intention to AOS for him.

Tis not a bad thing to worry about how things will turn out. Trust me when I tell you that many of us wish we had done it your way. Your relationship is long with much more than normal time spent in person. You 2 actually really know each other and still want to be together. It honestly doesn't get better than that. A lot of us would probably tell you it was kind of taking a chance. I mean, I filed K-1 after only 4 months of only online knowing my then-girlfirend, the last 2 weeks of which we met in person and became engaged. Really how well did we know each other after only like 10 days of face time?
