Well that is a good friend. I know it is hurtful especially with a child and all, but do not worry issues with visitation and custody can still be worked out. If not there are definitely agencies that will help you with that. So refocus your energy and you will be ok. Look what you already did you left your entire fmily to move to another country to start a family with someone you thought you love. That takes bravery. Forgive yourself. Things happen. Do not traumatize your child trying to fight a losing battle. If they did what they did maliciously, Karma never misses an address. Yes you have to wait for final divorce decree but you have plenty of time So you should file for renewal June 2018. Focus on how you are going to pay for that and push on.
For some reason, this is the 1st I've heard of a child. Maybe I zoned out for too long.

Hi guys!
We are going to prepare the I-485, Anyone want to share experience for filling I-485?
We don't want to go to agency because they charge 1,600usd while direct filling will be 1,225usd. That's too much!
Hopefully we can get more information and reply. Thank you in advance. God Bless us...
My experience is all from this site and everything has been super easy following the guides in the post above mine. Without VJ, I would've no doubt struggled through all the government hoops that you have to jump through to get from A-Z through this entire process. I literally knew nothing about any of this until I started trying to figure out how I could be with my German girlfriend.

Also, i have a copy of my orders with the date i arrived and she has a stamp in her passport so they can see the dates reference my "how and when we met" letter....basically i want to know how high my chances are of getting married.
Extremely high. As long as you show proof of what you have, there's no reason to deny.

The definition of terrorism will always be debated. The media has a role to play, but yeah, certain media outlets feed 'word puzzles', partly dictated by the makeup of their audience.
Each US incident brings about a debate about whether to refer it as terrorism (Boston marathon).. domestic extremism (Oklahoma City).. an act of a lunatic (Columbine).. hate crime (SC church).. etc etc.
They should all be considered terrorism because "the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians."

Suspicions come from bad acts by bad people. All muslims aren't terrorists, but all (most?) terror acts are committed by, or in the name of, Islam. That means, politically speaking, anyone associated with islam is a suspect to begin with. It then comes down to each individual to remove doubts; the US is a paranoid society to begin with, like it or not.
Depends on your definition of terrorism. The OKC bomber was not muslim. Therefore, the media did not call it an act of terrorism. But it was. Don't let the media feed you and tell you what is and what is not terrorism. The kid that killed 9 black members of a black church in South Carolina also committed an act of terrorism but you certainly won't hear the media calling it that. Instead they focused it on race, which it most certainly was. But does that not also make it terrorism?
Additionally, this country is a profiling country. I have certainly been profiled by police for many years multiple times simply because of the color of my skin. I have been profiled less when I walk around with my white wife.
Adding, the Columbine shooting. The Colorado movie theater shooting.... I could go on for days. Acts of terrorism not classified as such by the media or government simply because they were not done by Muslims.

I'm saying in a rights and differences way, as per the constitution people have a right to worship as muslims
Until a President comes along and changes all the rules, which is what he's doing. Nevertheless (and I am a Trump opposer, mind you), no one's right to practice Islam is being put in jeopardy with this. They obviously will word it how they see fit, but what they are proposing (hasn't happened yet as the EO is still in draft) is banning people from those countries from coming in and having any immigration benefit processing ceased, at least temporarily. Like it or not, the Pres can do that.

Muslim is a religion, nazism isn't.
Why, because their "god" was already on earth? Same difference.

The real issue is the only people who will get affected by trump dump decisions are law abiding people who want nothing but to be with their families, bad guys will always find a way to what they want as they're having unlimited resources and support from their groups, foreign regimes and agencies or even local organizations inside the US. Now trump is punishing those who follow the law, banning entire countries and making it nearly impossible to get visas even from other MENA countries which are out of the ban list. Even non Muslims are subject to extreme vetting! Thanks America
In no way am I saying I agree with the "trump dump". However, this is a net. And nets just don't catch good, edible fish. They also catch all the trash and junk that happens to be in the path of the net. And that's what the whole purpose of the changes are. Again, not saying I agree with it.

Wow.....
Do you guys think that the extreme vetting on all immigration programs will affect those with various applications in progress? It seems insane to consider whether someone can "make contributions to the national interest". As in what exactly is the national interest and who gets to decide that?
We could also be seeing some changes on forms in the very near future with "amended application forms that include questions aimed at identifying fraudulent answers and malicious intents".
Who gets to decided that are The Secretary of Homeland Security, The Director of National Intelligence, The Secretary of State, and the President, according to the wording in the draft itself. This is why who is voted into office and who their cabinet picks are are very important.
And yes, from my interpretation, this can affect any stage in your process from Visa to Citizenship. They can just stop it dead it its tracks if they see fit.

" The president is also expected to take action over the next few days to temporarily ban immigration from Muslim countries deemed a 'threat to national security' - namely Syria,Iran,Iraq,Libya, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia " - dailymail uk
Does this mean people from muslim countries like egypt ,saudi arabia etc will have a hard time getting into the united states? (i'm talking legally ofc ) or is it just for syria and the 6 other countries mentioned above?
No one knows right now. What we do know is Trumps has already made significant changes to all sorts of things in this country in his very short time in office. I guess anything is on the table.

This is where adjusting from tourist/work visas differ from the K-1. In this case there will be an interview (it is only waivable for K-1 adjustments), and it will be the first time that their relationship will be "vetted". A K-1 applicant has an interview in their home country; when adjusting from a different visa, the AOS interview has to verify the validity of the relationship. They could just use photos of trips, phone calls etc, but it would be much better (easier) if they start the financial co-mingling now, to have more concrete evidence. The ROC is then just more of the same.
Interesting. Thanks for pointing out the differences.

My wife got a CR-1 visa issued on Nov 29, 2016. It expires on May 3, 2017. We are not yet sure when we will get a chance to enter the United States, but it might be after April 15. Although that's technically within the time span of the visa, is there any reason that should prove problematic?
My understanding is that we enter on the CR-1, then they send us a Green Card a few weeks after entry. Is that correct? As long as the Visa is still in effect, no problems there. Not completely sure about the GC question, but to my knowledge, yes, something like that.

I met my fiance while i was on a deployment and she was on a work visa, we have pictures of of together and we talk on a daily basis, but none of us had visited eachothers home country. Would the interview deny her of a k1 visa?
No. You would not be denied for that. How recently did this meeting occur?

But there are no unusual circumstances here - again, stop trying to scare people with misinformation.
The OP has been in a relationship for several years, and they have spent upwards of 10 months together in the past 3 years. The last time she visits, they decide they've had enough of the long distance, so marry at a court house.
One might argue that this is far more "natural" a relationship progression than the couple who meet online, meet in person for a week then file a K-1 application.
To the OP, again you will have no problem. It would be a good idea to start collecting evidence of financial comingling - so try and get put on the lease (if you rent), or open a joint bank account, added as a dependent to your husbands health insurance, beneficiary to any life insurance, etc. Then, by the time your interview comes around, you'll have lots of evidence.
Yes. They have a beautiful relationship structure. I honestly envy it a bit. In a good way, of course.
Your last paragraph: None of that is necessary for AOS, only ROC. I mean, they're all good ideas just to do as any normal couple would, but they won't need to show any evidence of that for an AOS interview, if they even have one. We did not. I just sent in my packet and eventually we were approved for my wife's GC. ROC on the other hand. Well we still have about 7 months until we can apply.

Yes that's correct
Yup.
6 minutes ago, Daisy.Chain said:But if they just got married, as the OP said, then they will need to ROC -with evidence- as they haven't been married 2 years - is that right?
But AOS 1st and for that, proof of comingling would not be enough to include as they would not've been married long. They didn't skip anything but the K-1/spousal visa, from what most people are used to.

They said to follow the 90 day rule. But I think what matters now is you are able to prove to the immigration officer that your marriage is not fraudulent. Present documents/pictures to prove the timeline of your relationship.
I've never heard of this 90 day rule.

Wow... and here I thought we were jumping the gun on our marriage. xD
I know that coming here to the US with a Fiance or Spouse Visa would have been more ideal but basically is the more important thing about filing AOS about how legit the relationship is rather than the method of me coming here?
Exactly, so you're good. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying I have regrets at all. I love my life and so does my wife, but I'm merely showing a point of reference to help calm your fears about proving anything to USCIS. It's really not hard. I was worried and we pulled it off.
