I mean for the stuff they already update us on, like processing times, application progress etc. I dont care where they were 2 months ago, I want to know where they are now lol.
I see what you mean. So you can more accurately assess your personal wait time. Yeah everything you finally get an approval for something, it always comes as a total shock. I'm always like "Oh I didn't even realize they were close LOL."

The only thing I would want to see is real time updates.
Like 11:38 AM EST, Jack walked application over to George's desk?

Except you cannot compel Embassies to issue visit visas to people with clear immigrant intent or risk or immigrant intent
If the government made it a requirement, then Embassies would be compelled.

Except the K1 process is MUCH faster than it was even a couple years ago, and it is not an option for many beneficiaries to visit the US prior to obtaining their immigrant visa as it is basically impossible to get a B2 in many cases
Then it needs to be a requirement and made possible by the US government and petitioner and beneficiary.
Edit: There OP; there's my advice.

Honestly I'd get rid of the fiancé visa or make it more difficult to obtain, I cannot count the amount of people on here who lament that their k1 arrived and it was fraudulent or they get a taste of the country and leave. Keep the spousal visa, but for a premium cost allow entry and in country adjustment. However with safety measures I highly doubt that they would do that.
I also would get rid of the categories for siblings and adult children.
That's because people are so in love with the thought of being in love that they forget there is an actual relationship that needs to develop like a normal one. Albeit it's different because of the distance but if you focus on the relationship instead of hurrying the process along, the process will happen in its own due time. Even though my then-Fiancee and my time to file I-129F was short, our initial focus was on each other and getting to know each other. We only needed a small taste to figure out that we wanted to be in each other's presence permanently. That's when the I-129F started. Granted, that all only took about 3 months to decide. But luckily, during that 3.5 months, she came to America, saw, and liked. Also, she wanted to be here. Since our petition took so long to process, I got to spend some time with her in her/my other home country as well.
TL;DR: All I'm saying is if the focus is on the relationship and the beneficiary actually visits America before filing I-129F, IMHO, the chances of success are higher. Don't fixate on the process.

The spousal and fiancee visa processes can be complicated, confusing, tedious, lengthy, costly, and frustrating.
If you had the ear of a high ranking official in the State Department, what clear, positive advice, suggestions, and improvements would you like to share with them?
Positive, pro-active responses would be most appreciated and helpful.
Cheers,
Dave
Not trying to detract from the feedback you're requesting, but you do realize this new state department is pretty much anti-immigration right? I mean, they are highly interested in immigration reform but they're not exactly trying to make the changes that will make the process any less painful for any of us. How high ranking is this official?

I want to share my experience of renewal of my driving license based on I-751 extension letter in Virginia. In VA you are not able to renew the licence in one visit if you have the I-751 extension letter. On the first visit they scanned all your documents and ask you wait for the call from DMV within next 3 business days. They have to do some verification for your documents. After the verification they called you and give a reference number then you have to go back to DMV with the reference all the documents that you provided on the first visit. So dont wait wait for the last day renew you DL ASAP.
Hope it helps.
Same in TX.

but my main question is will it really affect my extension of green card? is it considered as crime?
It depends on what "evidence" your (ex-)wife has.

10 month now. I have friends but they don't want to drive so far I've tried asking them indirectly but they tell me i should earn money first then deal with the restraining order. I'll try to do as soon as possible though. Also I don't want them to do anything more after i get a hearing date
I don't personally find it good advice to earn money first and then deal with the restraining order if all it is is a simple matter of you showing up to court to contest. Nevertheless, I guess you're at an impasse if your only resource to travel 3 hours are friends who don't wanna drive and you have no money to make it there.

her parents told me that they are just taking precaution since i was trying to text and call her so many times ( that time i did not know that she is going to file divorce) and that they will drop it after 10 days but that didn't happen. I've heard that they don't need any proof for restraining order as long as my wife just showed that she is scared of me and that i've been harassing her by calling and texting her. This all happened way too fast. i know i was dumb to not able to react to all this but i really wasn't. I was and have been broke in every way. again if i want this restraining order to drop, i have to go to the same court which is 3 hrs drive or get a bus and file against it, after this i'll get a hearing date in next 10 days but i still don't have enough money or time to do all that.I'm trying to earn enough money to first start a living first then maybe i can do it
You're digging yourself a nice hole. How long have you been in America? Have you not met 1 friend or anyone that can help you so this restraining order stuff doesn't get out of control?

hi so the divorce paper filed earlier got rejected because it was not done by a real attorney so they had to make a new one with same terms and this time i got in touch with a lawyer and he said its fine to sign. my problem is that I got a temporary restraining order a while ago which was for 10 days and i couldn't go to the hearing because it was a 3 hour drive. i had no car or money to go so they extended the restraining order for a year now until jan 2018. Is the restraining order going to affect my removal of condition when i apply for i-751 with a waiver? I read some posts but some say it might and some say it doesn't matter so its really confusing but I've gotten the best advice and suggestions here. also my ex wife and her parents have all my info like my USCIS # for my green card, social security number and all those stuffs. can they do anything against me with those things or should i get my SSN changed after the divorce is final and i get the divorce decree? I've started working now and have some money for myself but am worried as to what to expect when it comes down to removing the condition. Thanks
How did this happen!? I'll repeat an earlier sentiment. There must be some evidence of something that she has to have gotten even a 10-day order. Interesting you just now mention this order. And now it's a year. Wow, just wow. Best of luck to you my friend.

Hopefully everyone gets their loved ones here before it hits. I know there was a guy from Pakistan on this thread before asking.
Scary times indeed with all the current uncertainly of what may or may not soon befall us. My only recommendation to everyone not on the current list of banned countries, if you've been putting off applying for something, do it now. Procrastination time is over.

There was somewhere in this thread or the speculation thread that had a post about Iranian born people have Iranian citizenship?
Is that true? And that they get to hold both Iranian Citizenship and dual citizenship of another country?
I can't confirm but I recall reading that somewhere too. I believe they were Iranian/Canadian Citizenship and allowed entry.

Hi fellow VJ members
I am British but I was born in Iran (not that it makes a slight bit of difference but we actually fled from Iran for the fear of prosecution from the Iranian government many years ago. I have applied for a CR1 as my hubby is a US citizen. Our case was completed at NVC on the 24th of Jan. We are so upset by this situation. Does anyone know where I can get any info? I just want to know if our application is still being processed ?
I have emailed politicians here in the UK, the foreign office, the us embassy in London, ACLU in the US. I called the NVC and they have no clue.
If you're a UK citizen, you should be fine.

Hi Everyone,
I need a sincere advice from everyone. I'm a citizen of United States and we have planned to visit Pakistan this February. My husband is green card holder from Pakistan. As of present situation, I'm confused whether it will impact on us or not. Though he is traveling with me and I'm gonna with him when entering back to the US.
Thanks!
That's a tough one. Personally, I would not travel yet. Give this some time to see where it goes. Different parts of the administration are saying different things about who is and is not impacted and how. IMHO, only time will clear up the mud.

I obtain 10 years GC, my country of origin is Thailand, Should I apply for citizenship now or should I wait? I will reach my 1oth year is about 6-7 years from now. I have been hearing so many concerns:
To do it asap because...
-You will never what could happen, just get it out of your way.
-They could revoke, deport, or denied you as a greencard holder.
Not to do because...
-The process takes months, and anything could happen, you don't want your case to be left open in the middle of the situation.
-IMMDEFENSE.ORG recommends those who has greencard to avoid contact with USCIS, don't try to change the status now, don't try to change your name now and etc. and lay low.
OK that's just plain paranoia. If you want to be a citizen, by all means apply. If not, don't. That's the simple way to answer your question.

The vetting measure was just signed: http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/23/politics/president-trump-live-coverage/index.html
"We don't want them here," Trump said, referring to the executive action he is signing today.
"I’m establishing new vetting measure to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States of America," Trump said. "We don’t want them here. We want to make sure we are not admitting into our country the very threats our soldiers are fighting overseas.
Trump added: "We only want to admit those into our country who will support our country and love — deeply — our people."

As Trump said on Twitter in 2015; "A nation WITHOUT TACOS is not a nation at all. We must have the best tacos. The rule of law matters. Jeb just doesn’t get it."

Think it will be cheaper for me to a) get my Mexican food in Texas upcharged 20%, b) climb the wall to get it for normal price or even cheaper since the dollar is strong in Mexico, or c) go to NY to get it from Trump himself?

Ooooh I have a speculation. I hereby speculate that next week there will be significantly more things for us to speculate about!

Improving the Spousal & Fiancee Visa Processes

I'm all for making some sort of change to either # of visits or time spent but 6 months is preposterous! Let's take the case of my then-Fiancee and me for example. She, in Germany and me, in America, both needed to work to take care of our own lives and also pay for visiting and for immigration stuff. I don't know of any job in America that gives you 6 months vacation time. Even in Germany, they give you 1 month per year. It would take forever to meet a 6 month requirement.
Also, I proposed to her the 1st time I met her in person, about 6 days in, so I'd argue against your statement that I bolded. Personally, I would not advocate moving as fast as we did to anyone, but in our case, I had no reservations about it. When you know, you know. But if there is any doubt, then don't do it.
