We were not able to update unfortunately. If you have enough time, go ahead and update, if not, then when you are in the states again.

    What is a Sworn Statement
A sworn statement is a document that contains facts that are relevant to a legal proceeding. Sworn statements are similar to affidavits, however, unlike affidavits, they are not required to be signed, witnessed, or sealed by a notary public

    from a legal dictionary.

It’s up to you to take it to the notary or not.  I personally notarized it. Depending on a notary they might give you a form that already has the name “affidavit” and at the end such and such something like confirmed and witnessed blah blah. You will have to write your own text in the middle. Then the legal guy will seal it.

Incorrect. The mother goes to the Ukrainian consulate in the US and does that there. Apostile is not needed of course

    Hi there,

Interviews are done at Devyatinsky pereulok, 8 - that's the new building of the Embassy, attached to the old one, on Novinskiy boulevard. Both buildings are part of the big territory of US embassy, so don't worry your package will reach its destination safely.

I had a friend with the same experience. He applied for a fiancée visa but his fiancée got scared and changed her mind. When he petitioned for his new fiancée, he wrote an explanation and added to his petition. They got approved and it was actually quite a long time ago.

This is enlightened and a true boon.  No one wants to hear what those of my era had to go through at the rogue Guayaquil consulate -- automatic 221g or outright refusal if the petitioner wasn't there at the first interview (an unstated requirement!).  Until a couple of years ago, or maybe even currently, Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) mandated the petitioner's presence, but they were clear about it.

In general, the petitioner's presence at a K-1/CR-1 interview can be valuable if questions arise and the CO can get answers then and there, rather than requiring a return visit.  However, this is probably rather infrequent.
Alpine is, I think, the largest U.S. city to be so far from an international airport.  Beautiful area, however, and enviable to visit.

    That's good to hear. Thanks.
To give you an idea of what I go through; not that I'm complaining, but it's not a lot of fun:
8 hour drive to the airport, 2 hours wait at Houston airport for plane. 13 hour flight, maybe more. couple days later, turn around and do it again. It's all ok until the 8 hour drive home to West Texas. It's a brutal trip. Very hard for me to take more that 4 days off at one time or i'd do it every month. I love visiting Kiev. The history in that city is unbelievably rich.

In a previous life, I  wasn't present in Kyiv and visa was approved.  It is all about the evidence you assemble and present

you don't need to get a police certificate for her. That's why she is not even entitled for it. She didn't reside in that country. Traveling or visiting isn't the same as residing. I just went to a Russian forum and they say the same.

I believe it should be over 6 months at one time. If she traveled and accumulated over 6 months total, it doesn't count. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

She needs to go through the court

if the father is not in the picture at all, the court in Ukraine will quickly decide against the father, especially he is not even Ukrainian. Make sure you hire a lawyer and have $$$$. I would go directly to the court to ask if they have their own lawyers.

    That is curious.

This doesn't make sense to me. My husband married me in Russia and (being the man) his name did not change. He got the marriage stamp in his domestic passport no problem.

You're talking about this stamp, right? Example (not mine, just found it on Google):

Name change or stamps in domestic passport do not affect visa process. It’s up to people to change their names.  In fact no one will ask your domestic passport anyway. A marriage proof is a marriage certificate.

there is no such a thing as case by case thing under 319b for sure. There is the clear law about this process and when the requirements for the expedited naturalization met you just file the application, go through the process and get naturalized. Its expedited and not expedite. Quite different. 3 year rule if you want to have your interview overseas (only for military spouses) Other eligible applicants will have to fly to the US for the naturalization interview but they can still file while they  station overseas as well as those who  are still  in the US but soon departing for an overseas assignment. If the military spouses don’t want to wait 3 years but want to get naturalized straight away, they can also  file under 319b, BUT they will need to fly for the interview to the US.

No, she is paid to scam those men. That would not be wise  to list it as her job. Is she a registered employee there, is she registered with the government as a private entrepreneur? She chats with men and makes them believe she is actually interested in them while she is not. She just keeps them in the chat or on video as long as possible to get more money. Not a good place to find a fiancé. Maybe you are looking in all wrong places and then you wonder why your petition gets through the administrative processing. It obvioisly smelled fishy. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s going to be the same.

She is paid to scam men! For keeping them in the chat, doing as much video time as possible and meeting them for dates. Many of those dates that she won’t be even interested but will go on them anyway,  because again she is paid.  Also, some of those women are already married. They are just making money. I remember a billboard in Ukraine, a sarcastic one that said something like I’m such and such looking for my fiancé. We had great time but I cannot find her now. If someone knows her whereabouts, please let me know. Then her name, picture and some more details. I regret not taking picture of it. It’s was also very humorous. Of course he wasn’t looking for her any more but it was like WARNING! A scammer!

I lived in Ukraine and travel there very often. I know how those agencies work. It’s not considered an occupation in Ukraine. You obviously stereotype knowing nothing about Ukraine and those agencies. They are not called cam girls there and not just for entertainment purposes like those you mentioned. They call themselves translators which is not true either. The agencies do photo sessions for beautiful girls and put the pictures on the website. Then “translators” chat with men as if those were the girls. It’s not always they chat on their own behalf. When a man decides to visit the girl, she never shows up.

Those who meet through dating sites, not date agencies, can sign up, pay membership and chat with whoever they want and the women are signed up just the same way as men and they don’t receive money for spending time with men, or for luring them into writing as many letters as possible. They are not paid under the table and they are not “sort of” employed for any date agency. Quite a different picture, isn’t it? You don’t have to work in the date agency to find a man. There are plenty of dating sites. A dating agency in Ukraine as a mediator is a big scam thing.  That’s my point.

Also, I didn’t talk about that girl in particular. I was talking about that kind of “job” in general.
Here is the link to the US embassy in Ukraine

    Marriage/Dating Scams
The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv receives numerous reports from U.S. citizens who have been the victims of a particular type of internet fraud in which the person has sent money to a person or an agency with the agreement that a young woman will visit the United States for the purposes of marriage or study.  Often, these scams will result in requests for increasing amounts of money for various purposes, including many noted above.  Once the U.S. citizen becomes suspicious, the individual or agency will cut off contact.  Many of these agencies have existed for years under a variety of different names and addresses.
Even if the woman you have become acquainted with does exist and it honestly trying to visit you in the United States, it is unlikely that she will be issued a visa.  The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens not to send money to people or agencies who have advertised for these services over the internet.  We have no authority to investigate these types of incidents and it is very unlikely that you will recover your money if it turns out you are the victim of a scam.

It's not that , she sees videos to try to prepare best she can and you know as well as I do videos only tell story of people that not happy. I told her to relax and not worry. She used to be a smoker and i think in back of mind she worry about this. I think it is mostly the understanding we may have in West of medicine. She has never had any medical issues ever except many many years ago when she had her twins. But that is also the result of 1990's medicine. But I can say after my fight with MRSA after a knee surgery that resulted in a knee replacement it has not changed much.
Thank you all for the good words. We all try to help them relax and tell all will be fine. But different in person versus 4000 miles away
