We just tried calling the regional office and they wouldn't even take our reference number stating that for verification purposes, they have to refer us to our local branch. So we can't even complain to the regional office!!

Based on the previous posts, should we just tell our local office to call DHS? Can they refuse and just keep telling us that we just have to wait?

Hi, we tried to apply for a SSN back in Jan. (from a K1) and haven't heard from them yet. We've already asked that 3 requests be sent to DHS for verification but they said that DHS has not responded yet. It's already been 2 months.

Is there anyone we can call or talk to to expedite this? I saw previous posts from mdyoung but the links don't work and there aren't any phone numbers.

Anyone experienced this and/or how to resolve?

Try Costco. They were cheap... about $6-7 for 2 pictures and my fiance had no problems with them for the medical or visa apps.

If you can get it done at Costco, I believe they were $6.50 for 2 pics. Tell them it's for U.S. and they'll understand. My fiance just had his medical with Dr. Seiden as well and used those pics and had no issues.

My fiance, also from Toronto, was able to get it done at Costco. Pretty cheap as well.

When I mailed my packet out, in the address field, I put "See attached supplement" and put another piece of paper that gave my physical and mailing address and gave them instructions to mail any correspondence to the mailing address. I also highlighted. It worked since I got my NOA1 in my PO box rather than my physical address.
