How much of a problem is it if you wait till almost the last day to apply for the AOS?

Her 90 days is up on Dec. 10 and we sent in the AOS Dec. 8

What are you doing to pass the time?

Jaming to Metallica working on the race car.

Had to share that my fiance is on the plane and heading this way. This is the hardest 18 hours. It is even harder then all the other time put together. Its crazy feelings of excitment, fear, wanting to scream like a school girl all wraped up in one.

Would also like to let you know that it is a long raod but very worth every mintue. There was a few times I was thinking about giving up. God speed to everyone else who is waiting for the visa. Good luck everyone!!!

My fiance was looking at the visa in her passport and my last name has a little typing mistake. one letter is an "e" when it should be a "a". Will this be a problem? To top this off her plane ticket is for sept 10...

So far all i know is she went to the interview at 4AM to be first in line. She was staying in the hotel accross the street. She went in to the preinterview passed it. waited for her number to be called and then to the interview. Passed that and sent to a window.

Will try and get a list of all the questions she was asked and put it in a format for everyone to use.

30 days and she will be here....YES!!!

Like to thank EVERYONE here. Rowena was approved today at 10 am manila time. We both are very excited and looking forward to seeing what is next to come. Wish everyone luck and happiness.

Should or can a one way ticket be used on a K1 visa for her coming here?

Sure, if there's a market for them so that they can be disposed of quickly should one need the cash.

(There might be a practical problem with cars, though. In some areas of the USA having a car is virtually a necessity - if one's financial situation is so marginal that the value of their car would make the difference the situation might not be approvable anyway.)

If it was normal cars I would agree. Was thinking of adding the show/race cars to the list and not the daily drivers. The boat is also a HUGE ticket item.

Some questions to ask and answer yourself, then make your own decision:

- How long can I live off the money in my bank account - a week? a month? 6 months?

- What did your employment situation look like prior to the last 6 months? 'Couldn't hold a job' has significantly different implications than 'I was getting my college degree'. (Your situation seems to be somewhere in between - so ask yourself if your new position is relatively 'safe' and with a strong company as compared to before, and make the point if it will be in your favor.)

Very good questions. As for whats in the savings account could not live to long. AS for my work the past 5 years worked for Ford as an engineer for 3.5 years till they said we need to down size from went to a hot rod shop doing tech and selling parts followed by Biomedical engineering for a really cool compeny but the onwer had a accident that made the compeny go away. Now I am at one of the largers suppliers to the automotive world. We are also very busy even that most others are slowing down. So my postion is fairly safe and never was not able to make my payments on the house,cars, and toys.

Not sure what to put on line 7. They are asking for type of business and name of concern. Now on the forms seen people have filled out. Type of business people are putting there job title. As for name of concern its the compeny name. The big question is what compeny would i put as work contract from one compeny to other one. Sorry if this is a hard read havent been getting any sleep...

Just wondering how much they are looking for to have int the bank account.

My problem is that 2 years ago I had to take a 50% pay cut then we all ended up layed off

after buying a house. Then made two trips to philippines. Now back in to the real job market but my savings account is not a happy place.

Guess my question is how much total are they looking for???

Worena just recieved her packet and interview date is Aug. 10. There is a bunch taking there medical on July 18 from asawa. WengDens is my girl and send her a message if you like to join them.

I called to see how Rowena's packet was going and had recieved the great news of it being sent out and her interview date is Aug. 10 also. She is also planing on going to the july 19 medical check up. You can pick up a copy of your packet at St Lukes if you do not get it before taking your medical.

Called Manila and found out that her packet was mailed May 25 and her interview date is Aug. 10. We both are so excited and when I was on the phone doing the happy dance. The fourm and people has been a great help.

Just wondering when is it that they need you to send the money to Manila for the interview. Think its a bank transfer or something like that. Reason I am asking is that are number is getting close if they go in case numbers and dont want to miss it. Thanks everyone ahead of time

Just keep busy with work and racing the car this year. along with chatting with her every night.

It took Claudeth over a month to receive the packet and that was before the embassy was over-burdened with professional work visas.

It has almost been a month March 24 when the letter from NVC came saying thy are forwarding it to manila

No ... it's way too early ... your number will appear 4-6 weeks before your medical appt. date.

Did I need to send the Dept of state forms with my packet or do they go stright to my girl and she shows them in Manila? Did i completely screw up or not?

Reason I am worried is the letter from NVC came on March 24 but no packet for her yet and have no idea where anything is at.
