  1. Spent a crazy 2 days in Ukraine hotel....riots broke out underneath our balcony watched the whole thing...We made it to embassy and are approved. Now waiting on visa ...Rumor has it american govt may put a ban on Ukraine visas...if we already have one can we still get in the US? Will this include fiance visas? People are lined up at ATMs... people dont think there will be any cash available soon...flights are booked for the 27th. This is crazy I'm about to go prepper..

  2. You don't have to do anything, just show up with your US passport. They'll just let you in.

Also, the consular officer might want to speak with you too since you're there. He called me up and asked me a couple of additional questions after speaking with the fiancee and then told us we're approved (it was easier for him to speak in English, so he just spoke with me then). You can both walk up to the window, but he'll make you go sit down while he speaks with the fiancee (you can just sit in the closest chair and hear everything pretty much).

What are the questions they ask?

  3. My fiances interview is scheduled for Feb 20th in Kiev... How or where do I request permission to enter the embassy with her? Not attend the interview but cleared through security to get into the embassy?

Also after we are approved I want to schedule flights as soon as possible? Can we pick up the Visa at the embassy? If not is it garunnteed to arrive within 5 days to kharkiv? I would hate to book our flights and then the visa comes late....anyone with experience with this?

  4. First my fiance will be coming with her daughter. They liv an hour flight from Kiev.... It says they need to get a PPD test for tuburculosis . But the results may take 48-72 hours. Should she schedule the med exam 4 days before interview? That means she will be in Kiev for a week.

Does she fill out a DS-160 for her and her daughter? Are there two seperate Visa fees?

Also I read this.... where and how do I pay this? Is this for her and her daughter?

Effective February 1, 2013, all individuals issued immigrant visas overseas must pay a $165.00 USCIS Immigrant Fee before traveling to the United States.

    Dazed and confuzed!

  5. Wow this is going so fast....Kiev has our package and we can schedule interview ...the consulate says it can be as soon as 5 days or more if we need more time. ... I wondering if I should meet her in Kiev for the interview. Or wait until she has her passport and visa then fly over and get her and fly back. If there is a problem at the interview can it usually be corrected quickly?

Does it help to be at the interview? I just hope we have all our paperwork correct at the interview..

  6. I found out my fiances visa is approved is at the NVC and should be mailed to the embassy in Kiev by end of week.... How long after its mailed does it take for the Embassy in Kiev to schedule an interview? Then how long after interview to get visa....then how long is the visa good for? Thanks....
