That is only applicable if the interview is in the UAE and the applicant is living there.  In this case, the Applicant is no longer living in the UAE and will not be interviewing there.  If you are reading from the UAE Embassy website, you are reading the wrong official source.  This interview is in Mumbai, not Abu Dhabi.

pushbrk reacted to Villanelle in Weird situation with 221-g
Im a bit confused about what the issue is here- You said 2 weeks BEFORE the interview they called you asking about the name error and you submitted a request for a correction. You were told it would take a while. You went to the interview and got the 221g for the certified copy. You are now what? Considering sending the incorrect copy? They are not going to accept the incorrect copy. They know its incorrect and they asked you for the correct (and certified) copy. I highly doubt they are going to accept the incorrect certified copy along with a note explaining its in the process of being fixed due to pandemic delays. I understand that maybe the 221g only has wording saying 'certified copy' is needed. Its implied the certified copy be correct even if it didnt specify certified and corrected copy. They definitely do not want incorrect documents certified or not.

You were told there would be a 10 week delay and its been a month and half (or 6 weeks). You should be getting the corrected copy in the next month or so. Just hang in there.

(you could email the Embassy and ask if they would accept your incorrect copy + letter of explanation if you are so inclined however like I said I doubt they are going to say ok. You also want to avoid sending incorrect stuff because they have to process it and reject it- it will put you in a whole loop to circle through. You may end up having the correct certificate in hand but your passport is in transit back to you so now you have an additional delay. There are too many variables that you can not predict and personally I strongly feel you should be patient and wait until you have the correct stuff to respond)

Police certificates from a country where you no longer live never expire, assuming you have not returned to live there or been arrested there (even as a visitor) since you left.

I used a police certificate from Germany that was 12 years old because I had not returned there to live since the certificate was issued. NVC website confirms that certificates from countries where you no longer live never expire.

London is fairly reasonable when they can be.

Back when I did my interview I had a flight booked for the 15th Dec (I know you should never do that) and they gave me an interview date of Dec 9th or 10th which I knew was going to be cutting it very close so I emailed (at that time you had to phone them, get a special code to get your email seen as a priority, don't know if that works now) and they rescheduled interview to 5 days earlier. It was still a tight timeline but I just managed it.

All you can do is ask - with whatever reasonable explanation you have. I think they will accomodate you IF they can BUT we're in the middle of a pandemic - it's very unlikely there is much flexibilty to be had as so many people are waiting for interviews.

Correct, and also note the OP has mentioned two categories of reasons for expedite, not the actual reasons.  Both categories carry the danger of negative impact on approval, depending on the details.

You have more than photos, as you will have at least passport stamps as evidence of time in country.  Did you provide that?

The yellow slip also has a check by “evidence of relationship”. Note the use of the word “evidence” not “proof”. How much evidence have you provided so far?

pushbrk got a reaction from katkoota in RFE for 2019 tax transcript even though extension was filed
This is where terminology is so important.  NVC does not really do an RFE.  That's a USCIS term.  USCIS RFE's do have deadlines to respond.

The OP can upload the actual complete copy of tax return including W2 and 1099 forms once filed.  NVC will accept that, and the transcript can be taken to the interview.

Note to all readers:  The year you're sponsoring your spouse to immigrate is not a year for you or your joint sponsor to file an extension.  This is a prime example of WHY. 🙂

Police certificates for any country besides his current country of residence can be obtained at any time.  If not in English or the local language in India, get certified translations.

pushbrk got a reaction from Mintosman in I-864 Joint Sponsor
Your joint sponsor must meet the income level for his own household plus the immigrant or immigrants he is sponsoring.  He answers the questions that are asked of him on the form.  There are no questions on HIS form about people YOU sponsored before.

OK, but there is no actual question about 10 years.  You are required to count anybody you previously sponsored who is still an LPR.  If they left the USA, or became a citizen, you do NOT count them.  10 years is not a magic number for anything.  You can be responsible for their lifetime, depending on circumstances.

New joint sponsor will not be financially responsible for the beneficiaries of your previous petitions.  Do not include previous immigrants in calculating household size of new joint sponsor.

They have the USCIS file.  And adding more is not needed for Australia.   You can bring any new "evidence" but they are not required to accept it  or even look at.

"Appeal" is not correct at this stage.  In a few months the petitioner will receive from USCIS a Notice of Intent to Revoke, NOIR.  At that time, the petitioner can submit evidence to try to convince USCIS to reaffirm the petition approval.  If reaffirmed, there will be a second interview.  If not, then the petition approval will be revoked and the couple can decide whether to start again.

It will give you more information about the reason for the denial, but not necessarily details.  "What to do" depends on what CAN be done.  What CAN be done depends on your actual circumstances.
