    Thank you for your precious advice on VJ! 


    I saw in one of your posts that people can delay their interaction with the NVC after the I130 is approved (applying for IR1 visa). How long can the interaction be delayed? Is it one year? If so, what happens if we delay beyond one year? How long will it take to resume the request? 

    I read about the need to file an I824 which would take about 8 months...would that be the case? 

     

    Background: my wife (USC) and I currently live abroad and would like to move back. Due to the COVID-19 situation, however, we are nervous about moving to the US at a moment in history when the economy will not be great and it may be hard to find jobs.
