Why is that traffic tickets thing such a big deal? Just disclose them on the application and that's all. Your IO will not care anyway. I remember specifically asking him if "detained" also included being stopped by police when speeding. He said:"Well, yeah, but that's not what we're looking for". And then I said that I did some research about the meaning of the word "detained" to actually know if being stopped by police when speeding means "detained". He interrupted me with a smile and said: "We don't care about traffic tickets".
As a conclusion: If your tickets are not over $500 and are paid, just disclose them and don't worry about it because they don't care.

I just came back from my interview.I passed. The whole thing lasted for maybe 15 minutes. It was easy and the Immigration Officer was a real gentleman. When I asked him if I was right to mention my traffic tickets in the application, he said: "We don't care about traffic tickets". He had me write :"The people elect the congress". And he asked me a few easy history, geography and government question and that was it.

What I'm trying to figure out is whether an early walk-in for fingerprints would speed up the process a little bit.

I also have a question. Fingerprints is on February 9th. That's kind of a long wait. Does anyone knows if I can do a walk on? I got my green card through a K1 visa. I should have filed for citizenship over a year ago. My local office is St Paul, MN.

I'm in the process of gathering the necessary documentation for citizenship. Do I need to send certified copies of my marriage certificate and divorce decree of my wife? Or can I just send in the souvenir copy of the marriage certificate that I have?

I received the GC in the mail today.
Everything is correct, no typo, no mistake.Now I can relax for a few months before I file for citizenship. The removal of conditions was rather fast in my case. No interview, no RFE. I mailed the I 751 in August and got the actual card in December. That's cool. Great Christmas gift. I wish everyone whose case is pending is approved soon.

After being stucked for 14 months at the VSC and a RFE AND an unoffical approval letter from my local office(Boston) i finally received the official e mail "GREENCARD PRODUCTION ORDERED".Well can't wait to finally have the card in my hands.Good luck to everyone still waiting,this forum is great!!!!!

Current Status: Card production ordered.
On November 26, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

someone else can confirme that I can go to America with a visa F-1 while my K-1 is processing?You can't enter the USA on any visa when your K1 is being processed. A friend of mine tried that in Paris and was denied his tourist visa. Don't try to outsmart immigration. They've seen it all. You want to marry your girlfriend, then do it the right way. Get a K1 visa. I'm sorry to say it but your plan will probably not work and it will contribute to make it even harder for those who are trying to get a visa in good faith.

Cher ami, je ne te conseille pas de venir te marrier avec un visa étudiant. Tu te feras capter à coup sûr. En fait tu ne seras pas le premier à essayer et à se faire jeter dehors. Ils sont pas stupides à l'USCIS. Tu viens en janvier avec un visa étudiant et tu te marries en mars avec une américaine. C'est cousu de fil blanc ça. Ca ne trompera personne. Et tu vas te créer des emmerdes pas possibles.
Le plus simple c'est le K1. Même si c'est long ca te met à l'abri et tu seras en règle.

My GC had my middle misspelled by one letter. After using ( and traveling with) it for a year with no problem, I decided to have it corrected anyway. Around Nov 20th 2007 I made an info pass appointment. They stamped my passport and kept the GC. They sent it wherever it had to go. Later it was transfered to CSC.
I got the new card today in the mail.
it was 4 and a half months. Considering that some people couldn't have it done in 6 months or more, I think my case was pretty fast.Simply happy.

Hello everyone
Can I file for removing conditions and for correcting a mistake in my middle name on the my GC? On the machine readable line at the bottom of the card, my middle name has been misspelled by one letter. I got my GC last year in Sept. At the time I didn't want to deal with immigration again and I needed to travel overseas. Ever since I have always used the GC with no problem whatsoever.
I was just wondering if I can file for correction and removing conditions at the same time sending both requests in the same envelope. Or maybe can I make an Infopass appointment, have my passport stamped with the I-5555 stamp and then send the GC back for correction when I remove conditions?
What's your opinion?

Other proof can include each writing your wills and including the other as your beneficiary; listing each other on health insurance policies, car insurance/ownership listing both individuals; joint membership in AAA; if you have cell phones check into a 'family' plan where you can call each other at no extra charge and both names are listed on the bill; hospital documents noting you as next of kin (ask the hospital for a copy); doctor's office statement that list you as your wife's spouse; any joint credit cards, etc.
Maybe this is a silly question but I'm asking anyway. In case we open a joint bank account will the statements bear both our names? Similarly how do you know that joint credit cards are joint. Must everything bear my name as well as my wife's?

So now doing my research, I figure out we need the DS-3025, and we don't have it. Do you all think a CS would fill out the i-693a from german vacination records? Same difference in the end really.

Well I don't know if that's gonna work, but you can try. i was in the same case. What I did is that I gave a phone call to the doctor who performed my examination and I asked him to mail a copy of my DS 3025. Which he did. Why don't you give a call to your doctor in Frankfurt?

After getting a visa on a DCF basis does the applicant have to enter the USA right away when the visa is granted?
For how long is that visa valid? How long can the applicant stay overseas to properly organize his travel?

Personally I would say it would be fine as it is...but....USCIS probably won't say that. If I were you I would tell them there is a mistake on it and get it sorted out before something goes wrong.

Please update me. I took the oath today May 24th in Minneapolis.
I'll apply for a passport later. No traveling plans for now. My journey is over now. I wish luck to anyone else who is still in the process. This website is a great place to get info from. Actually VisaJourney has been my number 1 and most reliable information source. Thanks everyone!!!
