Hi vj members, i had my green card interview today at charolette NC office today, and it lasted like 20 mins and went well but the immigration officer at the end said ur case is fine beside the medical test form i-693 is expired and we need to go back to the doctor and get a new one and send it back to her and handled us the RFE paper but it was only a copy printed in black and white ink not colored or anything, and then gave us a blue envelope written on it department of homeland security citizenship and immigration services and the adress and ATTN: then she wrote her name then exam's i485 section. and said as soon as it get to me and i have time to look at it she can approve us, have this happened to any one before? and now i am confused and dont know what to do cause i have never recevied rfe before and havent reply to any before so dont know what is the process of replying to it., all i know that ur suppose to put the original rfe paper that u receive from them along with what they are requiring to be sent and mail it to the office address, and i dont have original cause all she gave to us was a printed copy from her computer in black and white., also what is more confusing that when i've read the rfe paper she gave to us i found it says under ( when you need to do it) that they gave me 30 days to respond and i thought i respond by mailing it but the paper say that YOU MUST DELIVER THE REQUESTED INFORMATION IN PERSON TO THE ADDRESS SHOWN BELOW BEFORE 30 DAYS. so does that mean that i should go myself to the office or to mail it? really confused and i would appreciate your ur help letting me know what should i do and how to respond to that.

Hi august filler, finally since last august my case got updated on the 23th of may after two weeks of my call with them and submitting a service request on phone with them cause they said my case was delayed than the normal process time of charlotte Nc office and they do not know the reason why so the lady submitted the request with me on phone and said the office will contact with u and tell u what is going on with your case. after 2 weeks i checked my case and finally found last update was on the 23th of may saying that my case is ready for an interview and they will schedule my interview and mail the notice for me, i need your help guys letting me know when should i expect the letter to come cause i did not receive it it yet and i check mail everyday how long does it normally take to receive it? and what papers and proofs should i be preparing for before i go to the interview?

We did not receive a letter about the interview. We got an email from the Cairo embassy.

In terms of actually scheduling the interview, you'll do that on the ustraveldocs.com website.

The instructions for all that will be in the email.

You need to bring to the interview birth certificate, criminal record, passport pics, medical exam. The whole list is included in the embassy guide here on this website. Click the Portals link.

Hello everyone, my green card case is processed in charlotte NC office and i am august filler and since i received my noa1 and did my biomertics last september i didnt hear nothing about my case and every time i check it online no updates or nothing since the 5th of august., i checked the uscis website on charolette office i found out that they are working on the cases of november 2015, so i called the uscis customer services today and a lady answered me and told me the same thing which i already know that my case is in charlotte office and that they are working on the cases of november 2015 and she doesnt know why they didnt do anything with my case and she took my info and my address and did request for service for me and gave me the confirmation number for it and told me to wait 15 days to 30 days to hear from charlotte office. i want to know what should i expect next or if there is anything i could do that would help with my case. your advices is much appreciated guys.

thank you for respond, i already checked the uscis website and according to them charlotte NC office is processing the cases of november 2015!! and my case is 3 months before that in the 5th of august and didn't hear anything.

Hi vj members. i have a question regarding my green card application, i came to the us on fiance visa last year in may and we got married in july and sent our Adjustment of status application the end of july we got case number on the 5th of august and went in the end of august did my biometric in charlotte NC office and two month later received my work permenant card. but since the 5th of august i did not hear nothing about my green card and i check my case and no update since then and now its been 10 months no update or nothing i am on texas service center charlotte NC office, i am worried and want to know if that is normal to wait that long with no updates or nothing or if they might lost our case or what. i would appreciate ur feeds on my situation please.

our package is almost ready and my fiance is insisting that we need to include a birth certificate for both EAD and AP as well as I-485 even though i read the instructions and only i-485 needs it. for what reason would we need to send the birth certificate and why is it not listed in the instructions for the applications if it is needed or did i miss something? thank you

also will it help to send pictures of our wedding or will it not really do anything?

Hello vj members, our marriage certificate kept my wife's maiden name but we filled the applications with her new name although it doesnt show it on the marriage cer, but we changed it on her ssn card so i want to know will we get rfe for that cause the name doesnt match with the marriage cer or can we send copy of the new ssn card with the new name as a proof of name change or what?

1) I just got married and my name is now changed through the Social Security administration and a few other things but the name change process is not complete. I don't think my bank completed the process. When filling out the forms do I use my new name even though my tax forms and everything have my maiden name? Also, when I write a check, will it be a problem if my old name is on it?

2) Most of our forms are printed and filled out for AOS, we just got my husband's social security card. Is it okay if we write in his number on the form when the rest is typed?

Hello vj members, i am applying for the aos right now on k1 visa and we are filling the aos applications to send them to the uscis but after our marriage my wife the american citizen will carry my last name so she wont have her past name no more and we will change her ssn card and driving license and her passport to the new name but we did not change them yet but we will as soon as possible, so i am wondering which name to fill the applications with her past name or her new name after our marriage or if we fill them right now with her past name will it be an issue later if they find out about her name change or what?

For filling out the AOS form for travel document. After reading the instructions on the form it appears that I cannot travel unless I have business or family members who are dying or dead. So I cannot go home for vacation? After I get the 2 year green card will I be able to travel to visit my family?

Also, I was always under the impression that we are to submit proof of bank accounts, proof of living together, etc in the package. However, I don't see this on the step-by-step guide and it listed further down for stuff to bring to the interview...is it good to attach things like this to the back of our package as an extra or not really needed?

Hey, everyone! I'm applying to adjust status after getting married on a k-1 visa and the form i-485 on the USCIS website is expired as of June 30, 2015...will they put a new form out tomorrow or what? I see some other forms that expired in February but no new forms...are they okay to fill out and send as they are?

Hello vj member and happy new year for every one, i payed my k1 visa appointment at the cib bank yesterday and i have the payment receipt and i loged into my profile to confirm my payment today after one day have passed as they said. in the payment page it say Please enter your MRV receipt information below. and then it say enter the receipt number but when i put it says its not valid number i don't know why or whats the problem. does any one had this problem before. does any one know what is the receipt number that i should put cause in the receipt of the bank i see no receipt number written just the cgi reference number and i did put that and still refuse and there is another number on the top of the receipt near cash deposit i also put it in and still say no valid. don't know what to do. would appreciate your help.

Hi vj members, in the egypt embassy they require us in order to schedule an interview and pay the interview date we should make a profile in there website so i made it and put my information and had the profile but when i am in the page of schedule appointment i see they ask for priority date and case id, i know that the case id is my case number but i do not know what to put in priority date what is that or what date to put cause i tried to leave it blank but it wont let me go with out it and i need to do that so i can pay the interview fee and schedule appointment. i would appreciate your help letting me know what to put in priority date please.

Hello vj members, They have an option for "Return Transcript," "Record of Account Transcript," "Account Transcript," and "Wage & Income Transcript." Which of these do I need or do I need all of them? Also, should I send in the forms I actually sent to the IRS when I filed taxes too?

Hi vj members my fiancee received her nvc case number through the phone with them and they said they shipped it to the embassy and to keep in contact with the embassy but when we checked the case on line it said this : Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

so does it mean we have interview date scheduled already or what cause what i know that the embassy should send packet 3 which i send to the embassy and after that they send packet 4 with the interview date. so why does it say that in the case here.

Hello vj members, my fiancee sent our k1 package last week and she received by email a notification from the uscis today but not the noa1 receipt yet, i wanted to ask if it is a good sign or what and does this service center they routed the case to it good one or slow office. any openions would be appreacited , this is the message we got today ( Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Texas Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status. This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your case. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Not even a problem. An address on the cover letter, and also on the letter of intent, is nothing more than a formality and is not even needed. Relax you are fine.

Hello vj members my fiancee just sent the package to uscis dallas lockbox the normal usps mail and she put the address on the package envelope the dallas lockboc address but on the cover sheet she have the express mail address of lewiseville tx so is it a problem or are we gonna get rfe for that we are so worried about it now that the package already sent we need to know please.

Hello vj members, my fiancee and i almost done to send the k1 package soon and she filled the i-129f form yesterday but there is a part in it where it says if fiabce's name and address in other language than roman alphapets so write his name and address in his native alphapets well my fiancee can not write arabic so i need to know if it should be hand written cause its on on the form on this part to write or is ok if i can type this page on computer with my arabic name and address and send to her so she can print so she wont have to handwrite it cause she doesnt read or write arabic? your help is so much appreciated
