  1. @Noktor Not sure how you listed your fiancee's name on the DS-160 and K1 application, but if you did it as I had described above, her name should be listed in that order. Regardless, when she receives her Green Card, you could update her SS, but if she decides to change her name when she applies for naturalization, she/you will have tons of paperwork to fill out/mail to get her name changed to reflect her new name.

There are so many Vietnamese living in Fort Bend, Harris and surrouding areas, I am surprised they are giving you a hard time on the marriage license application.

  2. We reached the end of our journey as my wife took the Oath and became a U.S. citizen in Houston this morning. It has been a long journey, probably too long, but the end result is well worth the wait.

As we depart this forum where we have called home for the past 6 years, I wish to leave you all with this quote from the late President JFK:

"Ask not what your country can do for you

Ask what you can do for your country"

It doesn't matter who we are, what country we came from, what language we speak, what color is our skin, who we worship, or who we support for President, we are all the citizens of the best country in the world. So, let's go out there, put our heads together, and make it an even better country.

We wish you all best of luck!

    Anyone plz help

Once your interview letter is uploaded to your USCIS account, you can print that out and actually take it to the interview. Once the interview is done, you can ask the IO to update your address or you can go home and do it. You might not need do it to get the Oath Ceremony because you can also print the Oath Ceremony letter from your online account as well.

This morning I got an email that a letter has been mailed confirming the date, time and location for the oath ceremony.

    PD: 7 June 2018

    Interview Notice: 18 April 2019

    Interview: 23  May 2019

    Oath Email: 28 May 2019

Oath Ceremony: TBC (most likely 19th June 2019)

Interesting that my wife's interview was a day before you, 5/22/19 and her case status has not changed; still showing Oath Ceremony to be scheduled.

    Thanks for the update.

Quick Question: I have a pending I-751 and now I have my N-400 interview letter as well. The letter doesn't mention that my spouse need to accompany me to the interview but I have read many of your experiences here that the interview officer might want to do the i-751 interview first with the spouse?

Can anyone confirm and tell me if my spouse need to come with me? We dont want to risk it.

Yes, they will do a combo interview. My wife just had hers last Wed and we knew ahead of time that it would be a combo interview so I went along.

    So bring your spouse.

My Oath notification looks entirely different with a set of questionnaires on the second page. Mine has the same address, however does not designate section nor parking lot numbers.

This page was handed to my wife after her N400 interview. It is not part of the Oath Ceremony letter; we're still waiting for that.

the Standard "Oath Ceremony will be Scheduled" . However the lady officer seemed pretty confident that it will be the 19th and went over some of the oath ceremony points with me.

Thank you for the clarification. The IO also explained the same thing to my wife the other day and also wrote parking lot #, section #, and what door to enter for the Oath Ceremony. Hopefully we'd be seeing you at the same ceremony!

    Hello Everyone!

I passed my interview yesterday and was recommended for approval, however i did not receive an Oath date unlike some of you whom did. How long should i expect for the oath notification to come through?

From what I read, the approval and paperwork has to be reviewed by another officer before it can be officially "approved" per say. My wife passed her N400 interview on 5/22 and we're in the same boat, still waiting for the Oath Ceremony letter. I have a friend who has been waiting for hers since 01/15/2019 (more than 4 months now) and it's no where in sight.

How many N-400 filers here also have a I-751 pending? We filed:

    5/19/2018 - I-751 filed

    3/5/2019  -  I-751 Biometrics

    5/21/2019 - N-400 filed N-400 Online

Has anyone seen N-400 happening faster with a I-751 or it doesn't matter?

We filed my wife's I-751 on 5/9/17 and filed her N-400 on 5/14/2018. Her I-751 was still pending when we received the N-400 interview letter, which was scheduled for 5/22/19. So, a little more than a year from filing I-751 to N-400 interview date.

I don't know whether the whole process was sped up due to the pending I-751 but I think the avg wait time for N-400 in Houston is about 11 to 12 months. Ours was close to 11 months when we got our N400 interview letter.

    Hope this helps.

Anyone knows the average time from notice to interview date? And from there to oath? Yesterday I got a message of "action in your case, interview scheduled". But there is no letter on the website... Should it come in the mail I guess?

We received a text about the interview appt on 4/17/19 (got the letter 4/23/19) and it was scheduled for 5/22/19. So, roughly a month for Houston.

My I-751 ( July 2017 ) and N-400 ( August – 2018) both are pending. Most likely interview will be combo. At the time of arrival in US, My age is 31. My question is:

Is any proof required for Selective Service registration as my first arrival in US is at age 31 ?

No need to submit any proof since they can see the date you entered the U.S. and figured out your age.

Congratz. How did you know they were gonna do both the same day? Did you get a notice that said u were being called for both n400 and i751? And how long after your interview do u expect to be called for Oath?

Cuz I got a mail for n400 interview but it says nothing about i751 and I'm a little concerned that they might send me home cuz my i751 is pending...thoughts?

Thank you. I had submitted a Service Request (SR) a couple of months prior to receiving the interview appointment and they replied that both the I-751 and N-400 petitions would be adjudicated at the same time.

My wife said she was told it would be sometime in June. I read somewhere that they have the Oath Ceremony every 2nd (or 3rd) Wednesday of the month in Houston.
