I better reask this since I made a mistake! I sent out the I-129F package on October 29th, do ya guys know how long it usually takes to get the NOA1? I tracked the package and they received it on Oct 31st but I still don't have anything back!
xD!!
Hi!
Welcome!
Well, if you filled the G-1145 form, you usually get an e-notification within 3-4 business days (since the day it arrives to the P.O Box not since you send it). And then you get the hard copy arround 7-10 days after that.
If you didn't send the G-1145 form, you will only get the hard copy and it's usually between 10-14 days since the day it arrived to the P.O. Box.
We sent our I-129f package on Oct 28th, we got our e-notification on Nov 1st and we still have not received the hard copy.
Hope I helped.

seems like its going a lot faster lately! I read that people have been getting their noa2 like 30 days or less after noa1! hopefully things stay this fast!
I'm getting so anxious about getting noa1, though! my fiancé is a lot calmer than me, but I keep refreshing the email constantly to look for the email hoping it will arrive!
I keep worrying something's wrong
like that we forgot to sign something or a problem with the check? I think I'll feel a lot better once we have noa1 because then I'll know we're in the system
I just see so many people getting noa1 so fast and it's making me nervous! anyone else feel like this it am I just being silly? Haha
Makes me wish we had filled early October instead, because of how fast processing went that month. Who would have predicted that USCIS would keep working during the shutdown...
Well at least I hope that they have lowered they work load and it still goes a bit faster than usual, maybe not 30 days... but before 5!
Hang in there, you will get your NOA1 soon. If you send the g-1145 form, then you should get an email between 3 and 4 days (of course the weekend doesn't count) after it arrived. I think the worst part comes after NOA1 though, because months can go by without ANY update and that WILL drive me nuts!
But oh well...
I am not a very patient person, I am nervous and I get stressed and obsessed over everything ... xD So I am hoping I don't lose my mind. My Fiance on the other hand is THE most patient person I know, so he is not even worrying about any of this 0_o!
Well I am just hoping I can get some peace of mind by posting here and getting to know all of you!

Hi Everyone!!
Nice to meet all of you!! I am an October filer. I am filing for my fiancee who lives in India.
Our I-129F was sent the 1st week of Oct and our NOA 1 was dated 10/15/13. My fiancee was assigned an A# on 10/29/13. I know that this can be a long process, but I am hoping and praying that this will not be drawn out for any of us!!
I was so excited when he got an A# assigned and then I realized that it is not necessarily indicative of an NOA 2.
I look forward to getting to know you all!! All the best friends!!
Yup, same here xD!
But oh well, at least it is some sort of progress, that's still good!
Anyway .... Welcome to the thread

Oh awesome you got your NOA1 pretty fast then! ^^ hopefully we'll get ours in a few days!
Good luck to you as well!
I would hope so!
I do wonder how will processing times be affected by the end of the shutdown. Because during, they were processing really fast.
A# Changed Nov 4th!

Well, I technically sent my I-129f on Oct 28th, so you'd figure we'd be October fillers. But it's close enough!
I got my NOA1 on Nov 1st.
I do hope this is a smooth and fast journey for all of us.
Anyway, Good Luck!

Hey!
We got our NOA1 on Nov 1st!
I have been seeing some crazy processing times, probably because of the shutdown. I am wondering if processing times will go back to normal now, or if they will even go slower. I do wish they'd keep up with the 20-40 days between NOA1 and NOA2 (I know it's highly unlikely). The wait just seems unbearable! Having so many breakdowns because of all the stress!
Well, grats to all of you who have already gotten your NOA2s!
I'll be looking forward to keep up with you all!
Oh! And if anyone has some advice to cope, I'd be grateful!

We sent ours yesterday, so we are on the same boat!
Good luck,

Thank you everyone for your replies.
We will just wait until we get our NOA2 and then start doing some research. Probably won't book anything until I've gotten the visa.
Just thought it was so weird to see people that already had dates xD!

T_T I might just do some sort of "blessing" at the church or something....
Don't risk it. Somehow they can find out and your fiance petition wouldn't be valid anymore.
if you're concerned about family, start talking to them now about possibly getting tourist visas to attend your wedding in the US! I also know a couple who streamed their wedding live so their friends and family could watch from Peru.
I would find it hard to get 300 people to the US for my wedding... xD
.... Yeah, my parents know WAY too much people! 0_o
Anyway, Ty all for your replies
We will figgure it out...
Also, was considering consulting this with a lawyer, we will see.

Hi!
We are about to file for a K-1 visa (next week). We know that the civil wedding has to happen in the US. Now, what we are wondering is if it's okay to have a religious wedding in Peru before going to the US for our legal wedding.
For what I understand in Peru a religious wedding is not legally valid (I could be COMPLETELY WRONG ABOUT THIS). I can not help to worry because I don't want to do anything that could affect the process.
So, anyone has done this before? Any ideas or advice on the matter would be appreciated.
Thank you SO much in advance!

Hi!
We are about to file the I-129f form next week, and I was wondering if any of you could give me some advice regarding the wedding date.
I originally planned to start figuring it out once I actually had the visa, even though if I know 90 days is not enough time to plan it (Specially since I have NO clue how weddings are in the US). After reading some posts around the forum I've noticed some people already have dates.
I have my college graduation on June, and some sort of wedding blessing/farewell party here in September. So, it can not be before that.
Anyway, would anyone mind to share how did you decided on a date? Did you actually hired locations and contacted providers, or did you wait until you actually had the visa on hand?
I just don't understand how on earth am I supposed to organize a wedding in 90 days, and on top of that in a different state where I'll be living.
Anyway, thank you SO much for you replies in advance

Your list looks good, you DO need BOTH of your sets of visa size photos (two each) with the initial petition. You don't need the beneficiary's birth cert until the interview. A word of advice though, include as much proof of having met and proof of an ongoing relationship as possible in the initial packet. It's very beneficial to front load at the lima embassy, it will make the interview go smoother. Anything in spanish being sent to USCIS needs to be translated.
Don't worry about the A-Number for now, if you don't have one leave it blank. The I-134, D156 and D-156K and if the beneficiary is male then the D-157 do not need to be filled out until the interview. Along with them, and proof of ongoing relationship, you'll need the beneficiary's passport and police certificates, they have a period of validity though so don't worry about getting them until your case has been forwarded from NVC to the embassy
I am a bit worried about the proof of the ongoing relationship, because other then plane tickets and pictures of the two of us I don't think I can think of anything else... All our contact, for the past 4 and a half years, has been online through skype or imessages. So we will see.
Thank you for clarifying those things up though. I am trying to research as much as I can, but it can get a bit overwhelming.

First step: you don't need the beneficiary's birth certificate. That comes up when they interview at the consulate level down the line.
Declaration of how you met: well, from the personal experience of another random online couple, my fiancé put down that we met on a car forum and I flew down to meet on x day. The emphasis is on when you met in person.
Paying the fee: if he has a us bank account he can just send in a cheque with the petition, or money order works as well, but make sure if its a money order it's us funds and routed somehow through a us bank. (This can be an issue if you're doing it from outside the country).
A number is your alien number. If you've never applied for immigration visas before you don't have one. One will be assigned to you and you'll find it out on your noa2.
As far as I know, both your passport photos is wrong. His passport info page with the pic and everything is all well and good, but they request passport style pics from within the past six months for you. (I'm pre-caffeine so someone can jump in if I've got something mixed up). Again, you'll be showing the passport when you interview at your local consulate.
Check out the guidelines, there's lots of helpful info on here and best of luck!
Thank you SO much! And yes I have been reading the guidelines, flowchart and examples, I just tend to get nervous very easily.
Again thank you for taking the time to read my post and answer it.
You've helped a lot!
We are thinking about filling in january, so we still have time to figure all this out...

Well, hello everyone!
Me and my fiance (he is the US Citizen) have been starting to look into the process and I am still a bit puzzled over somethings.
The USCIS' webpage didn't really helped... xD
So, I'd be very grateful if some of you could help me out...
For What I have read thus far, the first step is the petition which includes:
- the I-129F
- G-325 of both of us
- G-1145
- both of our passport photos
- a cover letter by US citizen
- a declaration of how we met (here is my First Question, how we met the first time ever which was online or the first time we met in person?)
- Statements from both declaring we will marry within 90 days
- Proof of having met in the past 2 years
- His Birth certificate
- My Birth certificate (Second Question Do I need to translate it? It's in spanish)
We need to pay the filling fees (Third Question Do we pay it on the back and send the receipt? Or do we send a money order?) and after getting two copies of everything, we mail all that to the Dallas PO box.
Forth Question What is an A number?
Following we should the 1st NOA and some months after the 2nd NOA. While we wait we need to start gathering the interview package documents.
Eventually our case is forwarded to the embassy processed and they will send a checklist to the fiancee.
Fifth Question More less what will we need?
I send back some forms, attend a medical exam and go to the appointment with the rest of the checklist, the copies from the petition forms and prove of our relationship.
The interview happens and I either get approved or not.
Sixth Question I'v been reading something about a D-156K form, a D-230 form amd a I-134 form, where do this one fit? Or do I don't have to fill em?
Now, did I miss anything?
I am SO sorry for the long post but we are just getting started and all this can be overwhelming and confusing. @_@
Thank you SO much in advance for your replies.
