I just read this on the DOS website......
http://m.state.gov/md214880.htm
C. Consular Operations Domestically and Overseas: Consular operations domestically and overseas will remain 100% operational as long as there are sufficient fees to support operations. However, if a passport agency is located in a government building affected by a lapse in appropriations, the facility may become unsupported. The continuance of consular operations in such instances will be treated on a case-by-case basis by the Under Secretary for Management.

Go to the CEAC website https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?
Use your case number and you can see where your file is at.
Thank you Nurseling.... It's still in transit..

How do I find out if the embassy have received my case from NVC?
-
So sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I meant you wouldn't be getting an interview already assigned and it was not normal to expect one based on that status. So I kinda outlined the general plan of how it goes before the embassy sends out the Interview.
Thanks Nich-Nick I am glad that you did explain, my head has been all over the place this week.... My fiance is in the process of moving ( we just bought a house), he is also in the process of changing jobs, the dog was sick so had to go to the vet, my son was in an accident (thankfully no one injured) of all people with a police officer ( it was the police's fault and they have claimed liability) and this too, it's all been a little crazy, I appreciate your explanation...thank you....

Do not worry, I paid for my interview early, as long as you have your case number its ok and you must have as you have scheduled your medical.
The bit about your interview being scheduled by NVC is what they say to everyone but does not apply to K1, London will schedule that
Keep the receipt for MRV fee as they will ask to see it at interview
Thank you nobbie I was feeling quite ill thinking I could have messed everything up...... Yes I do have our case number and the Invoice ID number...... So what do I do now? Go to medical on Tuesday then ????? Wait to send off any forms to the embassy until I hear from them? So confusing.......
(By the way, Nobbie is a great name, it's my dad's nickname) ?
Thanks again for putting my mind at rest.

Oh no!!! Story of my life...... Always in too much of a hurry....
I have my forms filled out, I have all my interview documents, my medical is Tuesday.... Will it still work out ok or should I try to talk to someone at the embassy...
I feel like such a dummy
Thanks for your help.

I have just checked the ceac website and now it says our case is in "TRANSIT" it also says
Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.
Is this standard ? I didn't get an interview date ....... Talk about a very confusing day

Called NVC got Invoice ID number but now they tell me our case is in AP. Anyone know how long it is likely to be there?
Now I have both LND number and Invoice ID number (and I have medical booked for Tuesday, all forms ready and police certificate in hand) do I fill in DS 260 on line now or wait till our case is transferred to London consulate?
Thanks in advance for any advice...... My head hurts! ?
-
Correct.
Thank you so much ?
-
I'd still call NVC for it personally. If the best they can do is say "it's online *somewhere*" then that doesn't inspire confidence.
I will give them a call in the morning, once I have the ID number I can fill out the DS 260 on line right?
-
Is it really a 8 week wait to get a NVC case number and invoice number?
I waited about 8 days not 8 weeks.... But I called DOS to get ours, I have just called them again and they said my invoice ID number I have to call the NVC for, then she started saying it was on line somewhere when I start filling out forms..... I'm so confused right now..... ?
-
She said to call back in a couple of days....... I have everything ready for interview and just made appointment for medical.... (Tuesday oct 1st)Yes. But you won't be able to do DS-260 though as part of your embassy forms - did they give an indication of when they'd have the Invoice ID?
-
Just got off phone with NVC they saod we received your case AUG 16TH YOU WILL HAVE A CASE NUMBER IN 10-20 BUSINESS DAYS..... Should I be excited??????
Call them again. I was told on Friday to wait a week, just called and got my number. ???
-
Just got off of the phone to DOS. We have our case number (LND #). They didn't have our invoice ID number though..... Can I still go ahead and book my medical appointment without it?
-
Congratulations to you all that got approved......?
-
I just called NVC and got the same as usual...... Call back in 8 weeks.......? was on hold for 33 minutes, called DOS straight after and was told to call back next week, got straight through without being on hold......
Not gonna bother with NVC again....
-
Why are some applications sent to the NVC and others to DOS? Just had email saying uscis has sent our application to DOS......
Ok I've figured it out...... No worries.

Do you still want the number for the London embassy? If so try
09042450100 that will take you to general enquiries.... That's from the UK....
Hope it helps

I would imagine the evidence of mutual intent to marry would be things like receipts for wedding dress, wedding venue etc...... I didn't send any of that and we didn't get rfe..... Good luck, I hope you're approved very soon...
-
Just got my rfe hard copy in yesterday. They are asking for intent to marry. Anyone have any tips or a good sample of the letter? I'm also sending my price quotes for the places I asked to hold the wedding dinner at, along with rings and my tux quote. Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks best of luck to everyone
This is pretty much what we wrote, don't forget you need to send a copy from each of you so names etc will need to be changed, hand write them, don't print and don't forget to sign and date them both........ Good luck

I know the answer to this is somewhere but I can't find it...
What forms do we now send to the London embassy before they schedule an interview?
Do we still send DS 156, 156k, 157?
Do we send a copy of the DS 260, 160?
I am so confused with all the new changes. ?
