  1. Hello everyone! I am not really sure if I am in the right forum? I just want to ask about my greencard. Here is my situation. I got my greencard 3 months ago. about 2 weeks ago our family went out to do something fun, on our way home, my husband felt so sleepy so we went out from the car just to walk around a little bit, when we went back to the car our passenger window was broken and i lost my purse. My purse has my greencard and my son's greencard, including all my id's and ssn. Now, we need to file for a replacement of our green card, I wonder what to do? and how long i should file for the replacement? do i need to file real soon? or is it possible to wait for a few months? I really need an advice. Any advice i will get will be greatly appreciated. Sandy

  2. Hello... i was diagnosed to have latent tb also, but after reading all this post. I feel a bit better! i got our i-693 packet in hand and the cs said, i dont think i need to take pills since my xray is clear. we will send in our aos packet nextweek and were praying everything will be fine. Thanks a lot!

I mean the cs doesnt think i need to take pills since my xrayis clear....

  3. After we read at the USCIS website that we need a civil surgeon to sign our i-693 we then call the nearest civil surgeon that was in the list for appointment. we did not know that our medical from saint lukes is still good when we went for an appointment with the civil surgeon. we just found out about it now here in vj. well, its done! we already paid we even ask for a list of what was done because there are some additional charge that we dont know what was it, but instead we got a piece of paper with a lots of number( we assumed its a code of what was done) because it has an amount beside it and how in the world we will understand what it was, really frustrating! Well what we are thinking now is.....were hoping we will hear from other people's experienced whome being diagnosed to have latent tb but being approved with no problem.

  4. Hi! The short answer is "I don't know" but I THINK you would receive treatment to clear up the problem without being deported or denied. .I googled your situation and got these results:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=does+laent+tb+affect+aos&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

These were among the first few hits:

http://www.uscis.gov/archive/archive-news/questions-and-answers-2009-update-tuberculosis-screening-required-adjustment-status-0Q. Why am I, as an applicant for adjustment of status, screened for TB?

    A. When passing immigration laws, Congress wanted to ensure that immigrants with significant health conditions do not endanger the health of the United States public. It put laws in place (section 212(a)(1)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act) to guard against certain significant health conditions being spread or introduced to the US.

Therefore, every immigrant, including an adjustment of status applicant, has to be screened for health-related grounds of inadmissibility, such as communicable diseases of public health significance. Adjustment of status applicants are screened by going to a civil surgeon (a physician that is designated by USCIS) and having a medical examination which includes a screening for communicable diseases of public health significance (such as TB) and other physical or mental conditions. The civil surgeon also assesses vaccination status and administers required vaccines. If the civil surgeon encounters an individual with a significant health-related condition, the civil surgeon will be able, for most conditions, to prescribe the necessary treatment so that the inadmissibility no longer exists and the danger to the public is eliminated or diminished.

I found this more confusing but maybe it will make more sense to you.

My main question is why did you submit to another medical if St. Lukes was clear?

    Best of luck

  5. You can apply for your EAD and AOS (also AP if you want) even without SSN. Once you get your EAD or greencard (which ever comes first) then you can apply for work and SSN.

Since you have your SSN then once you get your EAD or GC you can apply for work.

    Thanks a lot!

    Good Day!

we arrived here in the US october 05, 2013. using K1,K2 visa. We had our medical examination at saint lukes july 15, 2013. which is still good. until december 18th, 2013 the day we went to a civil surgeon for the I-693. we undergo another medical exam. and i turn out positive with latent tb. My question is, is being diagnosed to have latent tb can affect my adjustment of status? our 693 packet is ready, we only have to fill out the forms now and send it in. and being diagnosed to have latent tb makes me worried. i hope to hear anyone who have the same experienced s i have but done with the aos? Thank you soo much!!!

    Sandy

Hi! is anybody here have the same experienced as me? but got their aos approved just fine? Thank you...

  6. completely incorrect... I got my SSN within weeks of arriving in the US, and almost a year before receiving the EAD

there are plenty of threads on here which tells you what you need to successfully apply for a SSN; an EAD is NOT required

Just wondering after i read this post.....I got my SSN 1 month ago but still have to wait until we can send in our aos together with the application of EAD so i can start applying for a job when my EAD will be approved. Is this right?

  8. Hello!

Just got a text from 2go today, our visa is on the way. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day i will have it in hand, then i can go to cfo for counselling and seminar. So I'm starting to gather info about cfo in cebu, I'm not familiar with the place. I read some blog that there will be 2 places to visit for counselling/seminar and registering? Is anybody here knows the address? and where to go first?

I am a k1 with derrived k2, i read from their site that i dont have to bring my son with me since hes just 9 years old but i'm not pretty sure about the requirements to bring for my son? aside from bc, passport, school id, pphotocopy of visa? is anybody here experienced going to cfo under k1 k2 visa? Thanks for your help.....i will really appreciate it...God Bless!!!

  9. hello. i experienced the same thing. i was approved on my interview but then they said they have to wait for my medical results. i contacted SLEC and said they already submitted it 3 days before my interview. until now, 27th day... i'm still on AP. emailed them and called them already. they just told me to wait and there's no certainty on when this AP will be completed.

Hi...your interview was july 11? i'm counting in saturday and sunday. because if that......its already a long wait.....well...just keep praying it will come soon.

BTW, got a text today from INFO? the message is... DOCUMENT RELEASED FOR PICK UP/DELIVERY. and i got an email from ustraveldocs too. Visa is on the way.......THANKS GOD!!!

  10. You son did his medical the same day as you?

Yea, we went to medical together but i dont know why my son's medical result has been separated from mine? actually, on the day of our flight back to our city, I got a call from saint lukes releasing department, asking me to go back to saint lukes just to sign some paper works for my son. so i went there, they let me sign some papers , i noticed i had sign the same papers on the day they released our immunization record and my cd. When i went back to the hotel, the lady named joy from saint luke releasing department called me again and ask if i can possibly fax my son immunization record when he was just an infant, since were still in manila, I told maam Joy that i will just personally bring it to saint lukes. I was thinking they probably lost my son's papers? i'm not really sure but that seem's like it, because i already give them a copy of my son immunization.

No they do not want you to retrieve the medical file from SLEC and deliver it. SLEC will (has) sent both files to USEM.

Thanks Hank.. it really helps to hear a second opinion....God Bless...

  11. Good Day!

BTW...during my interview, the last window gave me a white paper, i believe this is a 221(g) with a checked on the box for medical examination and they put my son's name beside at the underlined blank part, then they put (direct submission)? i got confused about this, did they want me to get my son's medical result at saint lukes and submit it directly to them? maybe this is the reason why its under AP now? but the consul told me they will be the one to follow up saint lukes? and on the bottom part, they checked and encircled the box where is says...WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR FROM US? I'm thinking what if i misunderstood what they wrote on the paper the (direct submission)? Oh My God...i hope its not like that, they will probably think i'm not following instructions? i hope someone here can tell me if i misunderstood the(direct submission) or not? i'm worried.....its for my son.... sorry if i'm asking a too much....i just want my son with me wherever i go....and thanks for your help.....

  12. Good Day!

I am a K1 visa applicant with a derrived K2 applicant, we had our interview last july 23, 2013 at USEM. During our interview i was being told that my son's medical result has not been forwarded from saint lukes were we had our medical but they said, they verify saint lukes and my son is ready for interview. the consul who interviewed me and my son told me that i'm approved but they dont have my son's medical result yet but i have nothing to worry because they are the one who will follow up my son's medical result from saint lukes. after few days since we left manila i started tracking our visa through CEAC visa tracker. i was told by a friend i meet during my interview that she saw her status at ceac and it was issued , so i've been tracking our visa too for me and for my son. one of the visa was ready and the second one was administrative processing. i assume the one that has administrative processing is my son's visa because of hes medical result that has not been forwarded to the us embassy. Then on july 31,2013 one of the visa went to issued (the ready-went issued) while the second one stay on administrative processing. i emailed saint lukes about my son's medical result, i ask them if they had forward my son's medical result to the embassy and i got a reply saying they had forward it to the embassy last july 24, 2013. i keep checking our status, yesterday august 3, 2013 both of the visa were issued.( that administrative processing went to issued) i checked it a couple of times just to make sure what i saw.. it was really issued. i closed the windows and continued chatting with my fiance, after we chat and say our goodbye's so he can go to bed. i went back to CEAC and checked our status again. to my surprised it went back to administrative processing. but what i was wondering is.....when i saw issued there both of them have the same date it was update july 31, it was just yesterday august 3, 2013. Is anyone here encountered the same thing? please i need an opinion.....i feel like i'm riding in a roller coaster...i'm going up and down...
