  1. I have similar problem as yours

i just realized i put the wrong names in the DS-260. The names i put does not match the names in the passport. I put the middle name in the given names instead of putting it in the surnames along with my last name.

I just got the VISA approved last week. The names in the visa however matches with the passport

My question is, Does that affect in any way while flying to the US

    maybe in customs???

Any suggestions please? i am worried!

  3. If you are just filing as MFS, everything else will be the same. you only can take yourself exemption. hope it helps! =)

I just amended mine yesterday. Simple but it could be simpler if we just filed as MFS at the first place instead of amending it.

My case just got transferred to NVC. Waiting on them to get it. If i amend my tax return now, can i still send the tax return that i filed as single to the NVC while my amend is pending?

  4. I am in the same boat. I filed as single. Now i want to amend it. I went to H n R block and they told me to get ITIN number and there is not any other way and i will also get a bigger refund as filing as joint. The way the lady told me was it takes the same amount of time to get the ITIN number and the amended return back. About 8 weeks altogether. So might as well do MFJ. Reading posts here in visa journey tells otherwise. Any suggestions?

  5. My i130 for my wife just got approved and is in its way to NVC. Reading on some of the posts here, i found out it can be a problem filing taxes as single in the interview. I guess it would be fine in the NVC????? I filed as single on Feb for the obvious reason that my foreign wife does not have a social security no. I want to amend it as MFS just to be in the safe side. My question is

Can i still use my tax return for 2013 in the NVC for affidavit of support even if it is in the process of getting amended?

Does anyone have any similar experience that might help me guide in this process

  6. To my understanding, i would only need tax returns from last three years, which i am good. I will have spent 4 years in the army. What else would i need to show them in the NVC stage?? I can also show them my w2s and pay record from the army till march. Will they require any proof of employment after that since i am getting out of the army????

  7. Hi there,

I have a pending petition in NBC right now and i am hoping to hear from them pretty soon. I was looking at the things i would need in the NVC phase so that i have all the things ready early on.

I am in the military right now and i ETS(end of time in service) on march, which means i am separating from the military.

Will it be a problem when providing documents for the affidavit of support?

I am afraid by the time i have to send the documents, i will be out of army and i wont have documents needed for the i 864 package like current job and pay stubs.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    thanks

  8. I saw the processing time has gone down to 7.5 months from 11 months. Is that for people who are just applying? I hope the processing time is still not 11 months for the people who applied before the processing time changed.
