I'm not familiar with either form 8879 or IT-201. I've also never heard it mentioned as a requirement. My understanding is that a W-2 and the 1040 form constitute a complete tax return. Or you can of course use the tax transcripts which replace the need for either the W-2 or 1040. I personally sent my fiancee the W-2s and 1040 for 2012 and the tax transcripts for 2012, 2011 and 2010.
Thank you for your answer!
did you send original w2 and 1040 or copies?
-
Thanks for your reply but that isn't exactly my question. I have the documents on hand already so there's no sense in getting transcripts now and then mail them.
I'm willing to give them whatever forms they want. Just need to know which ones.
Anyhow still thank you

So I got the papers from my fiancé. He sent me the original tax returns since he already had them on hand. Now my question is.. I only need the W2 and 1040? I see there are other forms as the form 8879 or IT-201??? I'm so not familiar with these documents.
And people that sent the originals did you get them back?? Or just send copies? I don't wanna chance getting an RFE for that tho.
Thank you all!

It took exactly 2 weeks for us to get noa2 after the status changed to response review. It was an easy RFE tho.
Good luck

Did you know your fiancé back then? Maybe that would be a understandable reason why you tried to get those visas cause you wasn't ready to get married yet.
-
You should get a shipment notice. Email, text, case update on the websiteHello,
How can i know when the NVC received our case? I got Noa2 on the same date that you, but i dont know how to track if they received it or not.
Thanks.

I called last week and thy told me it was taking 8 weeks. I called again today and I got the NVC Case #!!!! I'm excited for the next steps.
Don't worry everyone, it will happen for you too. Just be patient and remember, even though this is a long process now, you will spend the rest of your lives together!!! So, in the end, all the waiting will be worth it!! Stay positive guys!
Hey can I ask you when your case was shipped to NVC? We got approved on August 2nd and shipped on the 16th August. Still no case number
Congrats to you!
-
Well I only know this for Germany but you can track the DHL label the visa is mailed with. But that only works once the visa actually has been mailed out
-
3 Business days?? Really?
that would be too great. My fiancée doesn't even wanna call before Friday. He says it'll take a week for sure, the way they work things lol
But now I can tell him you got your case number that fast!
-
She can't go to an Internet cafe? Or a public library? At least in Germany they are all over the place. Or you print them out and mail them to her? Of course that would be extremely time consuming.
Good luck tho!

my noa2 is 22 july and no number yet!!!!!
I'm sorry to hear that. I do get the feeling they don't process first in first out at all. Hopefully you get yours soon!

Just got this
Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On August 16, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.
Yay. So they already shipped it 3 days ago. When should we start calling?

I did a lot of research of timelines for TSC and the vast majority were shipped right around the 3 week mark. A few were shorter and a few were longer. We had NOA2 of July 25th and on Thursday August August 15th we were notified that our packet was sent to NVC the day before on August 14th. So for us the 3 week numbers played out almost perfectly. I also noticed they seem to ship once a week to NVC. Usually on Wednesday or Thursday. I would recommend waiting the 3 weeks then start making calls to USCIS in Texas. It is frustrating but just find the half full glass...you could still be sitting at VSC like some people seem to be. Best of luck and a word of advice, use this time to get everything you need for the interview process. It will keep you busy at least.
Thanks for the advice!! But our packet 3 papers been ready for about 2 months now looool the petitioner documents are on it's way also so I can't do anything but wait!!!
I won't complain tho. I wanna be there in November and I think that's still manageable
it sure does annoy me tho
Good luck to everybody waiting to get to NVC! This week will be a good week! I'm sure!
-
Yeah, if you didn't get a shipping notice, then it's highly unlikely that they will have it. TSC seems to be pretty good with the notices (but pretty bad with shipping in a decent amount of time). You were transferred to TSC, right?
Yes transferred June 21st and approved August 2nd. Is there anything you can do to speed the process up? We thought after the noa2 this crazy waiting game would be finally over.. How hard can it be to get these petitions in the mail?! Uuugh

Did you call the DoS number, not the NVC? When I called DoS they told me to wait 2-3 weeks too. It's the NVC that gives out the 8 week line. DoS people actually have a clue and don't just read lines off a script. It never takes 8 weeks unless something is wrong or they lose your case somehow or send it to the wrong place. 3 weeks is a much better timeline.
Yea we called DOS right away since so many people stated its a much shorter waiting time, well we will hit the 3 weeks mark this coming Friday and we didn't get a shipping notice yet so we will wait and see.
Not sure what will happen when we call Friday and tell them we waited the 3 weeks they told us to wait. Probably a whole lot of.. NOTHING
-
We called DOS today (first time calling ever after getting our noa2) we basically knew that there's no chance they have our file yet but we still wanted to try.
Of course they didn't have anything, it's been exactly 2 weeks since we been approved. But here comes the interesting part, the lady was super nice and said to allow it 3 weeks from approval.. Not 8? Are they all giving out different information? I'm confused.
-
Isn't it also listed at numerous points NOT to make any flight, wedding or moving arrangements before the visa is approved?
We sure didn't provide any date we plan on getting married.
-
Mine gave me a time range that was something like July 19th-August 2nd.. We sure got approved on August 2nd. But I would say that's more of a funny coincidence. No case is like the other. But in some cases it can be a good estimate date. Never ever count on it tho.
Good luck!

I did them before the medical and actually saved money cuz of that.
Good luck!

It took us exactly one week from approval status/email to getting the hardcopy. Email was 2nd August. Hardcopy came 9th August. We were in Texas.
-
Ask them what the matter with your case is. Tell them you're passed the 5 month mark and if they can tell you anything. If not say you wanna submit a service request. Hope this helps!
Our noa1 was February 4th and we just got approved on August 2nd. Try calling still!
-
Just be confident. Your almost at the end of this k1 #######
the immigration officers are only human too. Answer the questions you're asked as good you can and truthful, but I wouldn't start babbling lol no information that your not asked for.
I'm sure it'll be just fine
good luck!!

When you talk to the first person say right away you wanna talk to a tier 2 about your case. It's your RIGHT to talk to one. And they have to transfer you. They might say something like 'it'll be a long waiting time' trying to make you reconsider. Stay stubborn and say you'll gladly wait. And boy, you will wait!! We waited over 90 minutes once.
But the people that pick up have no information regarding your case since they don't have access to it. Only a tier 2 can look into your specific case.
Call and insist on talking to a tier 2.. Good luck!
Anooother but simple (I hope) question to the I-134

Ok great
you're a big help right here. I appreciate it.
One last question.. Did you get the original w2 back? I got two for 2011 but only one from 2012. If I submit the original what are my chances of getting it back?
I can't even check your timeline on my phone so I don't see if you had the interview already. If not ignore my question
