  1. Hi guys,

I checked uscis website and i was able to track my case number, before it showed me validation error, now they fixed it.

where do you guys check or where does it say on new USCIS web site "card production" or "Card mailed" ?

also is there any chance to track service request confirmation number?

    thanks

What does it say when you check your status?

Log in to your account and then click on the case number. The case history is near to the bottom of the page which will tell you the status of your request.

  2. We received our NPIW July 9th and since then have heard nothing but this morning my husband got 3 text messages and an email that said our I-485 is in "Initial Review." I took this as a good sign thinking maybe our application finally made it to someone's desk, but maybe it just means the USCIS is finally updating their website as before when I tried to check our case status I would get the Validation Error. Anyone else receive any updates?

The email says that we will receive our biometrics interview time, but we did that back in May.

Fingers crossed that we get the GC by Christmas. It's so frustrating because I have a friend who didn't even file I-485 until July and had her interview a few weeks ago and now has her GC. Meanwhile we filed in March and are still waiting.

I have multiple texts and email but I think USCIS just reenters the case number back in the system due the new website.

  3. There are two ways that I think you can approach:

    1) Get all tickets, credit card statements that used to buy the ticket, leaf visa, pictures, receipt of any purchased you made during that trip ( or credit/ debit statement that shows you spent in Vietnam), then write a letter to explain the situation( i.e. Passport Control took the leaf visa back). Did you go to Police Station in Vietnam to tell them that you will live at this address by this date? They probably have that record so your wife can obtain from them.

    2) Go to CBP near your city to obtain Travel History Record which includes all details about your travels. This takes 1-3 months to get it but you might want to expedite. I recommend to try the first option first.

I recommend to all other people that you need to get Vietnamese visa inside the passport not loose leaf visa, because they will stamp your passport this way.

  4. My wife's police record has the number "2" on it. They told my wife that if she gives them $50 USD, then she will get it in 3 days. Otherwise, it will take a month or so.

At first my wife was not giving them money, and she came back to ask her record after one month of submitting. They told her that her application is not in record.

So she gave them money for this time and she got it in 3 days.

  5. By changing address, it will not update anything new for us. I requested to expedite due to the fact that my wife's application is past normal processing time compared to her local office's timeframe.

Her local office has responded as "USCIS has reviewed your Service Request. According to USCIS records, your application is still pending. At this time, we anticipate you should receive a notice of action from USCIS within 90 days of this notice".

I guess we have to wait for a magic thing to happen.

  6. I have called them and basically requested to submit expedited due to the fact that my local office is currently processing the applications that are one month later than my filling date. I know that is not right to do so because my application is still at NBC and the interview waiver did say that I need to contact them after 6 months. Anyway, the customer service did fill the request for me and I received a reply to say that my application is current pending, etc.

  7. The deliver the results to the home address?! My fiance lives in Sapa, so obviously HCMC is quite the hike and we were planning on just doing an extended 2 week stay or so in HCMC before the interview in order to do the medical and vaccinations with plenty of time to go. So they'll send it there, or will the send it to a hotel in HCMC?

Also, as far as the vaccinations....The still give the visa after the initial shots correct? You can get the followup shots (HEP A, etc) once you arrive in the US right?

I am not so familiar with the new system but my wife went to IMO for medical exam and she went back to pick her medical results on the same day ( This was in December 2013). It could take more days depending on the schedule they have. You can ask them if you can pick it up instead of waiting them to send home.

You can get all your followup shots once she arrives in the US after initial shots.

  8. They do asked original BC for both petitioner and beneficiary.

    10. How can I obtain my birth certificate? In case I cannot obtain my birth certificate, what can I do?

Individuals born in Vietnam who need new copies of their Vietnamese birth certificate need to contact the office of the People's Committee of the district where they were born: the district where their mother was then resident according to her house book (Ho Khau). The district People's Committee can issue certified copies of a birth certificate (Ban Sao) based on their records of the original birth certificate. Alternatively, the office may provide an Extract (Trich Luc) of the information in the birth record on file in their office. If you are unable to obtain a birth certificate because records have been destroyed or the government will not issue one, you must obtain a statement to that effect from the civil registrars office and submit secondary evidence of birth. Secondary evidence of birth can be old family household registrations, school records, or baptismal certificates.

    14. I am unable to submit a document that your office requested. What should I do?

If you are unable to provide information requested by the interviewing officer, you should submit a letter explaining the circumstances that prevent you from complying with the request. After you submit the letter, a consular officer will review your case file.

  9. I guess the interview waiver could take up to a year for approval, but I think it is usually quicker than that. In our case we got the letter of a potential waiver of interview, and in less than two weeks we received my wifes green card in the mail. So less than four months from the day we sent the AOS paperwork to the day we got her greencard. So, I don’t totally agree with your comment about people that have an actual interview get their greencard faster. But then again every case is different and I guess none of us know how quick the USCIS will get to the case, so maybe it might take up to a year, but I hope it is faster for you guys.

Of course, potential interview waiver could take up to 1 year for approval. It is hard to believe that people get GC faster if they got selected to be interview than interview waiver. You can ask anybody in this forum and I bet you that the answer will be the same for now day ( It could be true in the past but not now).

It has been 6 months from the filling date and 2 months after receive potential interview waiver letter. I continue waiting to get approved much like others. People got interviewed between 2-6 months after filing date ( not true for all cases because some local offices are busy), and if they get approved on spot, then they will receive GC much faster than interview waiver.

In other hand, I received interview waiver letter which states that the delay to be approximately 6 more months from the date of this letter. This letter usually receives 3 months after the date of filing. The total time could be 3 months+ 6 more months to get GC. Note that some people might get approved faster than 6 months that USCIS claimed but other people had waited more than 6 months after receiving potential interview waiver letter.

  10. no appointment, nothing

You need to call USCIS as soon as possible and I would make an INFOPASS appointment. The biometric appointment is usually one month after you file. The biometric letter could be lost by USPS.

You don't want to get denied for all your applications due the fact you missed biometric appointment ( I know it is not your fault ). This problem did happen to many people in VJ's forum.

  11. If your application ( EAD/AP) is pending more than 75 days from the date filing, then you can submit the e-request based on approach processing time ( not due to financial loss).

I-485 is dependent on whether you have interview or interview waiver. It is also dependent on local office backlog. People usually get green card faster if they got interview ( assumed that we got approved at interview day). Interview waiver is waiting process and it can take up to one year.
