Thanks for the advice. I will file for a renewal of my EAD right now. How long can I expect a renewal to take?

I am also in to process of contacting my Congresswoman. How can I find out which Ombudsman I should contact?

I filed renewal for EAD on 2/9/2015 and I have not heard anything from them yet after biometric appointment.

I just got approved recently and I am not sure whether it comes from Senator or Ombudsman. However, it seems that someone got approved because Ombudsman involved.

For I-485, a lot of people are still waiting and it could take up to 1 year+ at this time. Did you contact your Congressman, Senator, and/or Ombudsman?

You can renew your EAD within 120 days from expiration date and do it as soon as possible. Good luck.

I-765 and I-131 will be a combo card. I-131 does not need biometric that is why you saw I-485 and I-765.

The NOA1 for I-131 might come later.

Well, I'm not surprised, but USCIS managed to screw things up again! They sent my husband's green card to our old address! We changed our address back in October 2014, and even got a confirmation letter sent to our new address but both the welcome notice and green card were sent to our old address. Luckily our old address is the home of a family friend, but I'm just so aggravated once again! I just don't understand how they manage to screw everything up so effortlessly! UGH!

This is scared me as well. Hopefully they will not send my GC to my old address.

If you file for the first time, then you need to include passport, I-94, visa, etc.

If you renew, then you dont need passport or visa. I-765 instruction says if you are C9 category, then I-94 is not required. However, it would not hurt if you include it.

Oh wow!! I didn't know that. In the instruction packet they say to do the medical exam first, but they also give completely wrong information about what to bring to the doctor (they say 2 passport photos when Cho Ray asks for 4 and IMO asks for 5). So I'm not surprised this info is also wrong!! Thanks again for all your help, really appreciate the answers.

No problem. Make sure he calls IMO to make an appointment for his medical exam or he will be sent home.

I did not remember how many photos my wife gave to IMO, but I would bring 5 if IMO said so. More photos are safer than less.

But aren't we supposed to get vaccinations AFTER seeing the doctor? So why are they asking for us to bring an immunization sheet with us beforehand?

You can either do vaccination first or after medical exam. I would do vaccinations first then go to IMO after so that you can give them what they want without delaying. Quarantine and Medical exam are not the same office.

We tried to call the hospitals but couldn't get a straight answer. He is traveling to HCMC tomorrow and I'd hate for him to be turned away because he doesn't have an appointment...

No appointment is needed for vaccination at quarantine.

For medical exam, then he needs to call to make an appointment either at Cho Ray or IMO. IMO is more flexible to me and fast.

Hi guys, I have a question would u pls. help me. My lawyer filed my AOS on June 16, 2014 and I got my NPIWin 25 Sept. 14. Still my case is under processing and no news from uscis. I got an email from my lawyer that I should extend my authorization work by end of April and she pointed out her office fee is $ 450 !!!!!! Honestly I wouldn't like to pay it because right now I'm not in a good financial situation. The questions is, do u think considering I have a lawyer, I myself can apply for extending my authorization work or my lawyer should do that???? I appreciate if you share your experience with me.

you need to file I-765 and I-131 within 120 days from expiration date. I suggest you do it yourself so that it wont cost you a cent and it is not too hard for those forms. You can look the guidelines on example forms tab, but you need to modify a bit because you are now filing the renewal instead of first time. The documents go with it are:

2 passport size photos

photocopy of front and back EAD

photocopy of I-485

If you file both I-765 and I-131, then you need to send the same documents as stating above for both forms. You will send it to Chicago lockbox if you are C9 category which you are:

If I apply at the soonest I can, then 60 days will put it almost a month past my Driver's licence expiry.

Dear god I hope my green card comes before my DL runs out.

This seems to be weird to me that DL expires on the date of I-797C instead of expiration date on EAD.

You might need to get expedited through congressman or senator.

The best case is that you receive GC before expiration. Good luck.

Not yet, not eligible yet. It took its time in arriving in the first place so I don't think I'll be able to renew it until May or so.

Is it 120 days or 90 before? If it's 120 I'll be able to squeeze it in, assuming that it doesn't take a month to renew.

You can renew EAD within 120 days from date of expiration. You need to file as soon as possible because it will take longer than what you expected. My renewal applications are sitting at USCIS about 60 days on 4/9/2015.

My wife had vaccines before but she lost her record, hence quanrantine gave her the vaccines that she already took. The cost will not change even he never had any vaccines before. The quarantine usually does not have Varicella and they might force him to do blood test for Hep. B even that vaccine is not required by CDC. I think it will be less than 200 dollar and he might need to go back for second shots but my wife got the second round vaccines in US.

Nope every time they contact them they basically say its just in progress, they dont ask for anything just say stuff like "you should hear soemthing within 90 days but if you dont blah blah blah. And when they say I'l hear something within a set amount of time theyre very careful to make it clear that my case wont necessarily b moving in that time just that theyl write to me again within that time to keep me posted

This process is nightmare for everyone so stay positive. Did you contact your Congressman, Senator , and Ombudsman?

MMR, TD or Tdap, Varicella, and flu shot (depending on whether he is doing medical exam during flu season) are required.

Quarantine gives people Hep. B even it is not required. The cost is of course depending on how many shots and type of vaccine that he will have. The varicella shot is expensive ( 68 dollar in US ) and all other vaccines are cheap. My wife paid less than 50 dollar for MMR, flu, and TD at quarantine in Vietnam.

An officer of the agency informed a member of my staff that your I-485 application is with an adjudicating officer and is pending completion of review. The officer further advised that you should receive a decision within 30-45 days. My office will contact you when I receive any updates regarding your case. If it was after midnight wouldn't that make it 1st April, aka April Fool's. I am sure they couldn't, wouldn't be allowed to do that though. I just find it weird that it says your card was being ordered at 1am in the morning, unless the computer updates over night?!?! Then again cards were being ordered on Saturday, which I also found weird, perhaps they are doing over time to catch up? I don't know it's enough to make any person who is sane, unstable!

Thank you so much for keeping me stay positive the whole process. There are two things that I am still worrying about.

First, USCIS can make an error on GC which will make me to submit I-90.

Second, I have changed my address on January 2015 and I got confirmation by email, mail and Tier 1. The problem can be from here.
