MoniqueDavid got a reaction from Pinkrlion in Visa approved finally but not in hand yet... Booked a trip. VeGaS BaBy!
While waiting on my fiance's visa to be received
I'M MAKING A DATE SET IN STONE CUZ I'M GROWN!!!
Yes, I know since my fiance does NOT have his visa in hand yet we shouldn't book a flight for him so I didn't. Buuut... as I daily watch flight prices fluctuate hoping for the day to press submit so I can have a count down date to SOMETHING! Because as we all know most of us don't have a set wedding date or arrival date or set ANY date. Well I couldn't take it anymore. I wanted to plan something, so... I'm taking back control of my own destiny!!!
The week of June 15, 2014 I will be in Las Vegas! In a perfect world my fiance (hopefully by then husband) will be with me since it is over three months away and he was approved Feb. 27, 2014 and the case has updated to NON IMMIGRANT Ready as of yesterday. But I do realize this world isn't perfect so eternal AP could pop up on our status tomorrow. Nonetheless, I will not be moved!! I'm going to Vegas and I'm having a good time if only to try to drown my sorrows in the free drinks or over stuff myself at the delicious buffets or hang out by the pool & relax from being HIGHLY UPSET if my love isn't there beside me!! Lord willing he will be there too.
All I'm saying is, it's impossible to waste a trip to Vegas!! Who's with me?

MoniqueDavid got a reaction from clairegie in Tourist/visitors Visa while waiting?
In our American world that would make the most sense right? Unfortunately, it won't be that easy. My fiancé tried for one prior to us filing the K1, because it made sense to me that he should visit a place before deciding to permanently move here, right? Well, nope. For a Tourist Visa the applicant must show "strong ties" to their country. The consular officers look at every applicant as someone that is trying to migrate illegally so it is the applicant's responsibility to change that view. That's where the "strong ties" part comes in. My fiancé has a full time job at his family owned business. He owns property in his country. He even has a child there that he has custody of and he still was denied. We thought those were strong enough ties but obviously not. All we ended up doing was wasting time and money.
Since you said you guys were going to file both almost simultaneously I would be willing to bet that the Tourist Visa would be denied for that reason alone. The CO could
think that if he is planning to migrate here anyways why would he go back to his country away from you to finish the process? Then like someone else said your K1 visa could be denied if they feel you didn't tell the truth on your B2 visa petition. It's better to file the K1 and wait. Use the B2 visa money for a plane ticket to visit him while you guys wait these long agonizing months.
I believe that is if you already have a tourist visa NOT trying to get one approved.
