We met for the 1st time in a hospital, Bruce fell down a lift shaft and I got a flight out straight away....I went up to his floor in a lift with his mum. She pointed out his room and said she'd stay where she was allowing us some privacy. I'm walking up the corridor with a stupid grin wondering what I will say, what he'll say, just bloody excited really I hear a voice behind me and hear his mum answere, I turn around and there's this lovely man on crutches....IT"S HIM !! I'm still grinning like a fool, everything else around us just disappeared as I walked towards him, I say "hello you" and we hold each other for the longest time, neither speaking, then we kissed, and I melt...still do All that was missing was violins and swirly smoke
Kim
I would have been embarassed to do all that in front of the mom of a man I'm just meeting in person.
Patrick walked right past me at the airport. I saw him and thought, "I think that was him, I hope it was, he's cute." Turns out he didn't think he was trying to find where to pick up his luggage. When we first saw each other we just blushed and were very awkward. I took him for his first ever Krispy Kreme Donut and that broke the ice. By the next day we were kissing and cuddling and all the mushy stuff nobody else wants to hear about.

I tried cigarettes in highschool because all my friends picked up smoking. SOOOOOOO glad I stayed away from that. They're all hooked and I have fresh breath. It's so nice. My dad tries to quit every year. Then he starts chewing on these little cigars. Then he lights one and says "well it's better than a cigarette" and before we know it he's back on the marlboro's.

I got a little confused here...So what exactly is packet 3? When my woman got her packet it was labeled packet 4....so what was 3?
LOL @ you calling her "your woman". Don't know why but that struck me as funny. Anyway, packet 3 is the packet you get directly after you get your NOA2 and your petition reaches the embassy.
-
I just read on here somewhere that in packet 3 you have to provide proof of your ongoing relationship. Is that true?! I'm just wondering because if so, that stuff takes me so long to get together and I'd rather start now. Can you just do the same types of things? Also, Patrick sent me roses on Valentines day. I still have the packaging slip, which also has the message from him on it, would that count as evidence?!
Thanks for putting up with my endless questions.

I'm changing my earlier reply that you would go through Texas, I think you go through Nebraska. This is why no one asks me the hard questions.
The OP is doing AOS.......they already have the visa and are in the US I thought that too initially when I saw their ID of k1_visa
OHHHHHHHH. And see here I thought I was being helpful. Shows what I know.

I second the "other" Miranda's YAY!!

Welcom gtigiant! I second everything everyone else has already said. This website is a HUGE wealth of information and we are so lucky to have it. I know when I first started this process I sat down and cried because the forms seemed to overwhelm me. My fiance calmed me down and we went through the forms. I think I just got scared at all the "legal" jargan and shut down. If I can navagate this process without a lawyer, so can you. Always, always ask when you have questions, but most anything you want to ask is already pinned or in guides for you to use. Browse away and stick close because this will be a very hard journey and no one understands it better than those on this site.

Nice philosophy chuckles, but that wasn't really the question. LOL. I met Patrick on Lycos chat (before they closed it down). I was really depressed and we had fun talking. Three months later he gave me his phone number 2 and a half years later we met in the airport as he flew over to see me.

I think it would be interesting to know how many US Citizens end up divorcing their spouse after they've gone through the whole K-1 Visa process. I wonder if going through this horrid process makes you truly appreciative of what you have and therefore, the marriages last longer. OR! do some meet on the internet and rush into marriage thinking they are in love when in reality they barely know the person. (I met Patrick on the internet in 2001, so I'm not judging the internet dating thing). I know no one can answer it, but it's just a thought.

I don't mind them doing this at all. When my fiance gets here he will have nothing to fear because we have gone about this in the right way. He will be a legal immigrant. Those who are illegal may face more danger, but in the end, they're here illegally anyway. That may sound cold, but it's irritating. Just before I moved from North Carolina a law was passed stating that illegal aliens would be able to get a driver's license. It would be different from the regular drivers license, but basically serving the same purpose. WHAT'S THE POINT?! Once they identify themselves as an illegal alien needing that license, deport them! I get very angry on this subject. There are many hispanics in North Carolina, I grew up with many whose family immigrated legally, but in the area I lived in everyone just lumped them all together as "Wetbacks" and other racist terms.
Sorry, that is a sore subject for me. I'll get down off my soapbox now.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know you're thrilled after waiting 9 months.
-
No, it doesn't really matter. I was just confused because you thought we would be upset by your getting approved. For a second I thought your case was sent back to Texas and has been processed quicker, which would explain how sorry you felt for the rest of us. You have nothing to be sorry for. We love seeing CSC move ahead. It means my December 20 application isn't too far behind.

Holy God!
I really hope all this is true,, even though my NOA1 is from Dec 19..
Good luck to everyone...
i thought they were going to update today...
i guess we will have to wait...
Me too Karol. I'm excited. My NOA1 is from December 20. And they may still update today. Remember that the CSC is 3 hours behind eastern time. and 2 behind central (I think).
Holy #######! Look at the grammar in my last post!! I'm ashamed of myself. My students write better than that.

Awww! I want a baby. A little boy first. Perhaps I should wait for my K-1 visa to be approved first lol.

Boiler is correct. If you filed for a K-1 then your Fiance would need to come into this country WITHOUT being married to you. She would need to arrive as your Fiance, not your wife. If you had a legal ceremony in her country then you've done something illegal. To enter as your wife she now needs a K-3 Visa. Seriously, seek help from an immigration lawyer.

Wow! I know you're super happy. We'll all dance with you .

WOW
Think Holland is approved on the 21st
We also got NOA 2 on 02-21-06
Hope the rest of the previous months will folow us this week

That is excellent news. Now December 20 doesn't seem SO far away. I hope mine is on a desk RIGHT NOW!!

Has anyone heard any more news? I thought I saw on VJ yesterday that there was a k1 from December that had been approved... but can't find the link now...
Looking for an update!
Thanks guys!
Blessings,
Lynne
I saw that thread also. I think the date was December 1.
Ok Lynne. I tracked down that thread you were talking about. It was in the USCIS Service Centers Forum on the CSC/TSC pinned List. There was a post from percipio that said the following
"For those of you patiently waiting as we had for the TSC/CSC NOA2, you might feel mixed emotions to hear that they have now processed a December 2005 NOA1 case. We empathize with those who have been waiting longer than us and offer support and encouragement that the wait may soon be over for you, too. "
His NOA1 was recieved on December first. I continued on that thread and someone else has been approved with a December date. Their reply said the following:
WOW
Think Holland is approved on the 21st
We also got NOA 2 on 02-21-06
Hope the rest of the previous months will folow us this week

This person's NOA1 date was the 5th of December. So it looks like they're definitely into December now !!!!
Hope this helps!

I'm confused. I see on your timeline that you've already been through the interview and they approved you and issued you a visa. However, I'm not sure that you can get married in another country. I thought that you had to get married in the U.S. for the fiance visa to work. I'm with Peter in thinking that you need to see an immigration lawyer ASAP.

oh my goodness ? Did you , Denis ????
you lucky you... no touches here tho
I wanted a noa2-touch!!!!
I got a "bad"letter.................our case in under AR...........could take 6 months
I knew it wasn't an noa2-I just knew it. Anyway-we have a long wait ahead(or well maybe it won't be a full 6 months). God I hope not
Don't worry Irish. It will be ok (I know you're hearing that a lot). Your NOA2 will come. Focus on planning a wedding, as much as possible. Pick everything out and do everything you can without a date. That's helping me wait. I'm a teacher and I have this whole week off and I was going stir crazy so I met with a photographer, a florist, my hairdresser, I picked out the maid of honor dress with my best friend. I have done everything that I can possibly do without a date and i suggest that to anyone going through this process, because it is definitely something that hangs over you all day if you don't.

Hi I had my medical in London yesterday, so everything is very fresh in my mind. Also I have written a veeeery detailed account of the day here
I also phoned them before receiving my Packet3 and tried to book an appointment but she clearly said that I couldnt book unless I have been contacted by the Embassy. They really need the case number beginning with LND and the medical questionnaire which will be in Packet3, which does NOT appear to be obtainable from US Embassy's website.
About vaccinations, if your fiance has no previous vaccination records (or it has been a long time since he had them) then he MUST get the vaccinations done. This is now a requirement and Knightsbridge Dcotors will charge him for this. If he is between 18-65 years old, he will need MMR and Tetanus. He can also get them from his local GP and according to some people they even got these vaccinations free from their GPs.
Yesterday, I was charged £60.00 altogether for the 2 vaccinations in addition to the cost of the medical
So its upto your fiance whether he would prefer having the vaccinations done on the day of his medical or in advance from his GP etc. I think they have made it mandatory to get vaccinations done at this stage so that you wont (hopefully) have to get them done again for AOS.
Hope this helps.
Jahan.
Thanks! You're all very helpful.

For those of you patiently waiting as we had for the TSC/CSC NOA2, you might feel mixed emotions to hear that they have now processed a December 2005 NOA1 case. We empathize with those who have been waiting longer than us and offer support and encouragement that the wait may soon be over for you, too.
I looked in your timeline and saw that your NOA1 and 2 came from California, but your message made it sound like the TSC processed your document. Which is it? I am very happy they're moving into december because my NOA1 is 12/20/05, so the deeper into December they get the happier I am.

There is no Missouri Service Center for the K-1 Visa. The four service centers are Texas (TSC), California (CSC), Nebraska (NSC), and Vermont (VSC). Since you live in Missouri, I'm guessing you will go through Texas.
