Let's not get into a fight about football. The SPL would have a better league if they had the money that the English premiership gets. It's all about money.

It is a little frustrating that the stations all seem to carry the English Premiership, as if no one watches Scotland. But what can you do? Perhaps I could email the cable carriers around here and get them to sign up with Setanta.

While we're on the subject though, Man United were trying to persuade Keane to stay and Keane decided that since he'd been playing in England for 14 years that he wanted something new. Did you see the Liverpool game? Looks like you could do with a Keane in the middle of the park. Darren Fletcher? Top player?? HA!

We don't argue that often. We get annoyed with each other sometimes and don't say anything, that's only about once a month. We only have one big argument a year so that's what I chose. We have had an all out screaming match, but those are rare. We usually say what we mean, and sometimes what we don't mean. But we try not to "let the sun set on our anger." LOL@my cheesy quote.

My fiance' is from Scotland and is a MAJOR Celtic fan. I don't want him to come here and have to give up watching his games. I know that on DirectTV they carry a channel called Setanta(sp?) and they play the Celtic games; not live 2 days after the original game. I currently have DirectTV, but they're really starting to piss me off, price increase, crappy service calls, etc. I'd hate to think they're my only choice, but I will stay with them if they're my only option for Patrick watching the SPL. He's also really into watching Scotland play the other countries in football and rugby, those are a little less important, but I know he would appreciate being able to watch it. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated.

After seeing yesterdays update and knowing I have not received anything I sent CSC and email requesting a status. I got a reply today stating the case is being actively worked.

I thought about doing that, but then I think everyone does. We're all just getting crazy because of how long the process lasts. Do you think they would get irritated if I did that? Or would it slow down my case? It would be a relief to know I'm being actively processed. Though I guess I should just wait and let them do their work.

Well, you didn't send yours in more than 30 days before their current processing date and this is the time frame they give you to wait until you can start bugging them You can always bug them before but you might not get too far....probably won't get far bugging them within the timeframe either

That's what I thought LOL. I'll just wait. It seems they really are processing within December. Though I don't really understand their processing dates. I mean, I thought when they posted a new date that meant that was the oldest petition they had in their office at that time. But obviously, with so many of us in late November and the earlier part of December it means something else.

I just get so stressed. With a last name like Brown I'm just waiting for them to nab me on one of those name hits they do. Patrick's last name isn't common so maybe we won't get hit. I wish they had a more standard procedure for all this so we could at least predict it. I need to stop worrying so much.

I was terribly excited when they updated the processing times today. But my NOA1 date for the I-129F is December 20. Is it common for them to update while those of us whose dates are earlier sit and wait? Do you think mine is being processed right now? I'm trying to think along those lines because I know an approval could be just days away, but this whole process is finicky and it makes me worry. I haven't been touched since December 29.

I have to admit. I moved here from North Carolina because there the MOST I could have made was 28,000, but it's more likely it would have been 25,000. But I had always planned to move here because I have family here and I thought it would be easier to be surrounded by my family when going through this immigration process. This is my first year out of college and I'm paying off student loans and it's been a tight year, saving for the wedding, immigration, paying loans. But with my family here I know that Patrick and I will be ok. I'm good at saving and budgeting so I don't expect to have to fall back on anyone, but it's a safety net I felt I needed.

See now that I'm coming down from the excitement of the CSC moving so far ahead I'm starting to think. My NOA1 date is 12/20/05. Their projection is 11 days after my application was recieved. Should I just assume mine is on someone's desk or is this a time when I should start thinking about what to do if it hits day 30 when they update again and my NOA2 still isn't here? I don't want to start panicking because my logic tells me that it's just on somone's desk and they're expecting mine to be finished any day now.

Their browsers may be caching the old information. I see December 31st, as well.

How do you keep the computer from doing that? I just went and deleted my cookies and all the files online and off. Then I deleted all the pages saved in the history. Is that the correct way to do it?

i keep refreshing it, i even closed the browser and reopened it, its still showing december 31st. I dunno, its a weird system if some people can view one date and others another date and its not like theres a time difference when it comes to the INTERNET.

That's what it was showing me too. But now when I go back it's showing the update from the 8th which was the November 3rd projection. Maybe they made a mistake and it should have been December 3 or something and they hit a wrong key. Hopefully as the day goes on they'll reupdate it. Now I'm pissed . They just don't know WHAT they do to us. If I hadn't seen it somebody would have, so no matter what this confusion would be happening.

The CSC has updated their processing times as of yesterday. They are working on December 31 dates as we speak!! !! I'm so excited! mine could be on a desk being processed right now.

I know they say you need to make 125% above the poverty level... is that right? I'm a teacher, so I make just over $32,000 a year. I'm not going to be living the leisure life with that, but that's ok isn't it? I wouldn't think being a teacher would put me close to the poverty line at all... although sometimes it feels like it lol.

Original I-129f application = $150-$200 (can't remember exactly)

Medical for K1 visa = $170

visa at embassy = $ 60

waiver (I-601) that I had to file = $ 250

now I find out that the I-485 form AND biometrics are gonna cost $ 250 (or thereabouts)

So it's looking at nearly $1000 so far, that's a heck of a lot of money for the US DHS eh??? Somone's living in the lap of luxury over there!

How much would you spend to date someone here in the US for a couple years before getting married? Probably a lot more.

So basically, you're saying that it's just much cheaper to marry and bring foreigners over, than date and marry someone here already.

As dmartmar said above, this is a perfect example of a "mail order bride".

I don't think he actually loved her, but he did care for her in a way I believe. I'm not saying he put himself in the best situation because in my first post I questioned him as to why he's JUST now finding this stuff out. I think he probably did not know the girl that much. But that doesn't keep you from dreaming about a future. Clearly he thought he had a future with this girl and I think that's where "hurt" comes in.
