Just looking at the "exceptional circumstances" again, his wife might qualify under employment change as the company she's working for may close their london office and work only from the US.

Oh I'm just looking and the "exceptional circumstance" thing is new. Thanks for the heads up, I guess they can't do DCF after all.

Yes, his circumstances are exactly the same as mine were. He's Irish, married to an American for seven years, living together in the UK for several years (in their case 12 years now).

Apologies, couldn't find a timeline thread. I got my visa via DCF to the London Embassey in 2014, and now it's my brother's turn. What is the current typical turnaround time from first sending docs to passport in hand? When I did mine it was 4 months from submitting package to interview and then had my passport shortly after. Is it still around the same?

It was always off for my account. Regardless of the status I am getting them.

 

Also my account still shows 5-6 months to get my N400 application completed...  Don't know what is going on...

Did you figure this out? I've been a citizen since may and I'm still getting the texts and emails even though I logged on and turned it all off.

Did you wait until divorce was finalized before sending? My friend is in a similar situation, she sent in her joint I-751 in November and has just decided to divorce - not sure if she should let them know now that she is planning to divorce or wait until the divorce is finalized.

Just wanted to add, because I can't edit, they got married May 2015, so at this point have been married for three years. They separated approx six weeks ago, so made it the full three years. I've read a few things that mention you need to be married for two years to remove conditions, not sure if the extra detail matters.

Ok that's interesting. She is still technically on a conditional green card, the condition being that she's married to the USC. Various things I've read say that until you're on a permanent green card, you could lose your status when you get divorced.

When you filed for your 10, was that from conditional? Did you have any issues?

First off this is for a friend of mine, not myself (I got citizenship a few months ago so my GC days are over).

In about 2015 she moved to the US on a fiancee visa, married, change status to 2 year GC, and then this past November (2017) filed for renewal/10 year GC. Her current GC ran out in December.

Herself and partner have decided to divorce, and her partner doesn't want to wait until the GC comes back, they want to start proceedings immediately.

My friend hasn't heard back about her GC being processed yet, so assume for right now that it's still waiting to be processed.

What does she need to do as far as notifying USCIS about the impending divorce? Is that generally grounds to have her renewal refused? Should she get an immigration lawyer, will it help or would it be a long shot/potential waste of money?

Basically she just wants to know how likely it is she can stay in the country, and what she needs to do to make that happen. 

I'll be with my wife and daughter who are both US citizens. The only benefit I see of entering the UK and then Malta with my Irish passport is getting through immigration quicker, but that means my wife is stuck with the baby on her own, and the lines arriving in the UK are often quite long.

Can I just travel on my US passport? I would carry my Irish passport anyway just in case I need it.

Have my oath tomorrow, flying 6/8 so headed to Miami on Tuesday for an appt at noon to get my US passport. Anyone have any experience with this office? Does it run on time? Is parking ok? Any tips in general? Will be driving from Orlando so long day! Want to make sure I don't hit any snags.

How long does the oath ceremony take? And how long before my appt should we get there?

Also anyone been to the passport office in Miami? Any tips?

Just got my notification that my Oath ceremony is next Wednesday. Super excited.

How long did people have between interview and oath ceremony?

Nervous for today! Getting all my docs together. Only thing I can't find that I might want to bring is my own birth certificate but I have my passport so I think I should be fine.

I did! Moved in 2014, but couldn't apply right on the three year anniversary because USPS lost my green card.

Ok cool! I've asked her just in case. Do they just want to see her there or will they ask her questions?

It worked! I remember now the issue before was that our phones are in my wife's name so it couldn't verify my name against my number. I signed up with all my wife's info and I'm right in.

I had that same issue as well when trying to download the PDFs.  I realized then, that the info they are asking for in the "verification" part was the USC spouse's info...I entered in my husband's SS#, etc. and I was able to access the transcripts online and print them.  I suggest trying that.

No longer an option from what I can tell - when I sign in it just says "you have requested a code, it will be sent out".

Or should I go through the sign up process again?

hey guys, I have my interview next Monday. Two quesions:

* Can I use my phone in the waiting room or should I bring a book? I know the biometrics place doesn't allow phones, but I went to the field office to get a replacement GC and they allow phones.

* Should I bring my wife with me? I wasn't planning on it but confused about some of the replies above suggesting they take a dim view of people who come without spouse.

I've applied for a transcript from the IRS but concerned it won't arrive on time - should I call them and get a copy faxed?

Obviously I bring my GC, passport, marriage cert, wife's birth cert - but do I need to bring anything else? The letter says 'If copies of a document were submitted as evidence with your N400 application, the originals of those documents should be brought to the interview." - what kind of thing are they thinking of here? Should I bring house deed, wife's driving licence etc?

Hey, did you end up having to pay the fee? I'm in the same situation

My ROC was approved late Jan and the card was mailed Jan 31st. After months of giving me the run around, USCIS gave me the tracking number yesterday and told me USPS is showing they delivered the card (to one of those 12 residences in one mailboxes) on Feb 3rd. Went to my local post office and they said GPS shows it was marked as delivered at the mailbox, my guess is the mail person put it in the wrong window.

USCIS person told me I have to file it as lost, but I just logged in online and see there's an option for "never received". From my point of view, I didn't receive the card, can I file as such? Or will that delay me getting a replacement card? Obviously the fee isn't ideal but it's not a deal breaker for me, I just want my green card so I can apply for citizenship.

My card was mailed Jan 31st, but it's feb 27th and no card - what should I do?
