  1. Your wife should print the Choice of Agent form, complete it then scan and email directly to NVC.

All other paper work should be mailed to them using any courier of your choice (Fedex/USPS/UPS)

To speed up things do not wait for the email (you wont receive that email) to submit the Affidavit of Support (AOS). You can make the payment online and print the cover page from the payment page and mail it right away.

Also you should go ahead now and start completing the DS-230 and put all the required civil documents together such as marriage certificate, police report, birth certificate etc all originals. Once you receive the bill to pay $230 IV application fee then you should everything ready to mail.

Not sure if your email referred this webpage: www.immigrantvisas.state.gov all the information for the next steps are listed there.

Hope you find this information helpful :):star:

  2. My friend ar u working at Uscis? Am saying dat wat dey wrote and u ar sayin wat? Pls pls if u don't know say u don't know it. Thank u.

Take it easy.... GOWAN does not mean any harm. We are all here to learn from each other everyday some fancy phrase comes along from USCIS. For some person seeing the informaton themselves they can better analyze what the phrases/quote/sentence etc... means.

You should call Customer Service and ask of them to explain what exactly it means.

  3. Today got text and email that our petition was approve. After sending in the RFE B/C for husband at local office and not one move for more than 60 days. I had made an info appointment on March 19th the day before my trip to see husband they went and pull the file and say that they was going to work on it and it will take up to another 60 days. So I am so delighted now on to the next phase. :)

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results

listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current

processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

Congrats... now for the next leg of the relay.

  4. Does any of my fellow jamaican vjers have the fax number for the u s embassy in kingston and also if we are allowed to send fax to the embassy.

Click on 'PORTALS' then under 'Quick Links' click on 'Kingstone Consulate Information'. You will find a lot of specific information about the KINGSTON embassy. B-)

  5. I called NVC this morning to check if IV package has been reviewed. The lady from NVC told me that there is a checklist for the DS230 Part 1, #30. Instead of entering the dates, my parents put "N/A". So, the lady told me to submit a new form and fill out the dates. I also asked if I can already mail the checklist today even if I havn't rec'd the checklist email yet, and she said it's fine as long as I will include the cover sheet. And I did what she told me. I downloaded the bar coded cover sheet from the payment portal that says: ATTN: CMR. Then mailed the docs before 5:00pm today. Few mins ago, I rec'd the checklist email from NVC and it has the cover sheet that says ATTN: DR. It was also stated that I have to write the NVC Case number on the upper right corner of the document, but I did not do it, since the lady told me to just include the cover sheet and that's all. Will this be a red flag?

Once the cover sheet with the barcode is included that will be sufficient. :star:

  7. My wife was approved today!!! We just want to thank you for all of your help, this is an amazing tool that we could have not lived without. I know we all are in the same situation, missing our spouse, tired of using Skype, frustrated with the government and trying so hard to be patient. This website got me through many frustrating moments and I hope I can return the favor to you and future members. Hang in there, it's all for love, so it has to be worth it. God bless.

    Congrats...

  8. I like that the interviewees come back here afterwards to report on how the interviews go. happy.gif Congrats everybody on your scheduled/approved interviews!!

For some reason I was hoping hubby and I would hear something about our interview today, since it's the one month mark, but I woke up to nothing. sad.gif We're going to spend the weekend at a friend's house in the city, so hopefully that'll get my mind off of this depressing wait. Maybe we'll even come home to good news. smile.gif Have a good weekend everyone!

You should call Department of State (DOS) at 202-663-1225 and ask if an appointment is yet scheduled for you.

  9. I'm now officially frustrated. This whole process, I've thought, ok, it's the government. I've worked for the government, I understand that patience is the key, it's inefficient... but I'm over it now. How long does it really take to process one Casier Judiciare? I mean, when you get a checklist, the response is not sent to the same attention as the regular packets. I'd just like the case complete. At this point, I think a June interview is most likely. Grrrrrrrrrr.

You should give them a call and ask for an update of your case.

  10. Pinkrlion,

Did you notice that the updated checklist regarding medical that you mentioned above is the same checklist that is uploaded here; http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html (US Embassy/Consulate Specific Information).

In essence the list of doctors is missing for Jamaica.

  11. I've thought about it.. But I can't afford to leave. If I had money saved up oh trust me I would be there by now.. But I spend so much money everytime I go and I have been going every 3 months for the past year and a half. Just came back on Feb 19th I was there for 3 weeks.. So I wont be able to go anytime soon.

Keep the faith, everything will be fine. Just remember life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. :star:

  12. Thank you for the help full tip I have been to that section but the only problem is I can't figure out how to input the dat. Keeps saying the day is not format correctly.

The correct format is DD/MM/YY  i just tried and it works i now know my package arrived at my embassy on 4/4/13, and who signed for it.

  13. Regards,

First that all, thanks to VJs to help us on our process. Thanks God we have i130 finally approbed after 1 year and 9 months.

    1. Now on NVC, we want to know if one persona could be a Sponsor for two beneficiaries.

The sponsor already has a i864, and he want to help us now. The attorney said that its not possible, thats right?

    2. Its necessary that co-sponsor has a lot money on bank account? or income is enought?

    Thanks in advanced.

One person can sponsor two beneficiary as long as he/she (sponsor) meets the poverty guideline. If he/she does not meet the poverty guideline a co-sponsor can be used. You can get additional information on the forms at http://www.uscis.gov

Click on forms and look for I-864 and I-864P.

  14. Well how times fly when we are having fun! (Sarcastic smile at this point)

When this journey began, I never thought I would still be sat here waiting for California to pull my file and work on it. I figured I would be almost at the embassy applying for the visa by now.

They say everything happens for a reason. I guess that reason will become clear when this whole horrendous process is concluded.

Sat here having coffee at 2a.m and hoping my journey will soon be done.

    [/quote

Sorry to hear you are still waiting for your approval from USCIS,but hang in there the end must come.As my good old grandmother would say 'it might be long but it wont be forever'. Keep the faith!!

  15. Hello,

I have noticed that the instructions given to find the list of approved doctors for Kingston (KNG) Jamaica is not listed.

    This is the instruction given:

    Go to: www. immigrantvisas.state.gov

Then click on: Prepare for your visa interview abroad

Click on: Prepare for the Medical Examination

Then I selected KNG from the drop down list and click on Medical Examination

The document does not list the approved doctor this was last updated 2/2013. I have opened a few other countries and I see a list of their approved doctors.

Also, the same document is located here:

    www. immigrantvisas.state.gov

    Review the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General-specific Interview Guidelines

    Click U.S. Embassy/Consulate-specific information.

I selected KNG and it’s the same document as the one mentioned above.

I think the document was uploaded in error under the medical link. I am aware of the physicians we use only because last year I did download the document and saved it in my documents, so I referred back to it and call the closet doctor to confirm they are still approved and scheduled my appointment right away.

If I am looking in the wrong place for the information please let me know!
