  1. Thank you for your support in the previous post. It's nice that people realise how tough the process and certain decisions can be in different situations.

Regarding telling them 'I do not intense to marry and stay' technically that would be true but I don't think I'm comfortable using a tricky statement like that when I do intend to marry and it would strike me as being untruthful in way given that I'd be telling them 'I don't intend to marry....'

I think I'll tell them I am visting my fiancé and then if they ask about marriage I will be honest and provide proof that I intend to return home as I have commitments there.

When you passed through CDP airport immigration did you openly tell them you were getting married or not? Or if not did they ask you if you planned to get married?

No I did not mention anything about marriage to them and they never asked, they only ask how long I am staying and the purpose of my trip. I told them my return date and told I am on my vacation.

I visited my husband after we got married and before the I-130 was approved and never had a problem with immigration and I even booked my ticket in my married name and took my marriage certificate with me.

There wont be any problems to get married in the US on your tourist visa, just make sure that you don't overstay your time, that's what is important to them.

  2. Wow! So they did not have to copy anything off the confirmation sheet in order to have my passport delivered? I followed the steps you provided but there is still no waybill# available. How long does it usually take to generate? I thought the IO had to have a copy of the sheet to have the passport delivered without complications.

No they don't need anything from the confirmation sheet. To check on the status of your visa you should go to http://ceac.state.gov enter your KNG# once you see the status says 'ISSUED' then you can expect the package to be delivered soon. For me it took 7 days this included 2 public holidays.

  3. In my case the officer asked me if I had registered with DHL and I said yes, and offered a copy he said he does not need a copy. He gave me a piece of paper (more like flyer) that has the website (https://usvisa-info.com) that you should go to see the waybill #.

Once you get on the website>> Select immigrant visa applicant>>Jamaica>> click on sign in>>Check the disclaimer box>>Enter your Passport #, Date of BIrth>> Click log in and then you will see the waybill #. Click on the number and you will be able to track the package. Also once the package is given to DHL you will receive an email with the waybill number from the Embassy.

    Hope this helps

  4. What's wrong with these lawyers? My aunt got approved from last December the information was sent to her Lawyer and she keeps calling, the lawyer keep telling her she is not yet approved by USCIS and to wait 8-10monthts before she calls back his office.

Not until early June my aunt was discussing the situation with my mom and my mom told her I am going through the same process and I am now finished and it did not take that long. So she asked me for help. When I checked her case status at USCIS she was approved from Dec 2012. When she called NVC to get the case number they told her they are waiting on her documents and payments.

Now, I am helping her with the process and we are just waiting for the Police record to send to NVC. NVC even sent the payment information to the Lawyer and up until now he never contacted my aunt about the payments again an email was sent to them from NVC on Friday and they still have not made any contact to let my aunt know anything. To make matters worse he was paid in full.

These lawyers need to act like professionals, they are being paid for the services they are offering.

  5. I just want to confirm that, once you've paid the $165 fee after your interview, that you will get a I-551 stamp in the passport when you cross into the US and that this will let you travel in and out of the country until the physical greencard arrives.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Look at the bottom of your visa it should say something about the 1-551

  6. today i received a letter from homeland security, a i-797 notice of action ( NOA) and i checked my case status on the uscis website and it said

    "Post Decision Activity

On May 29, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

i filed in february 2013. If it is the approval im just in disbelief right now??!!!

Yes it does! Congrats and good luck for the rest of the journey

  7. Do you know how to figure out how to get the waybill # off DHL? Also, the status says "Ready" but talks about ready for the interview. The status was updated on 5/28/2013. Any thoughts about this?

I'd love to explain. Could you be specific as to what exactly you are confused about?

The way bill will not be available until the DHL receives the package from the Embassy and scan it in their system, in other words the way bill is the "tracking #".

Once the status is still showing as ready, then the visa is not yet issued by the Embassy, once the visa is issued the status will show "ISSUED'. You can call 876 632-7400 or email kingstoniv@state.gov for more information on the stats of your visa.

  8. This goes out to anyone who has already been approved and received a visa from the Kingston Embassy. We had our interview on the 28th of May. We were APPROVED! Now the comes the question of tracking the visa.

In the past, the method was to track visa's through DHL's website. However, as of March (many of you already know) the process was changed and now for the fiance visa the embassy requires applicants to register at usvisa-info and designate where the applicant would like the visa delivered to. Well my question is, Do I refer to the usvisa-info site to track the visa? I saw post for the Mexican embassy where it was suggested to just contact DOS to verify the status.

Any information anyone can provide is much appreciated.

Also, for those whom have received their visa, particularly the fiance visa; How long did it take for the visa to be delivered after the interview? Is it reasonable to think the process is still about 8-10 business days?

    Thank you.

http://ceac.state.gov and enter your case # to see when it is "Issued" then check the dhl site to see if when the air way bill becomes available.
