Congratulation doing the happy feet dance for you, do you have visa en manos?
No it's too soon that takes a few days but nonetheless we're super excited!
Thanks to all.
@MrTee12 your guidance was essential!! Please anyone whose in the earlier stages read his advice!
I just for back from DR and I have just 4 hours of sleep before I have to wake up to return to work. I look forward to sharing my experience with everyone in a few hours!

When did you get your date? My fiancés date was set on 10/11/13, the packet has the date on it of 10/16/13 but he actually received it 10/29/13. Like I said I also received the notice in NY. It does however take some time.

Just wanted to share my joy with my VJ family!! My fiancé and I had a very succesful day yesterday at the embassy in DR... Thank you all for your support and once I get to the states tomorrow I will most definitely share my Cita experience from beginning to end. Once again thank you all very much and for those still waiting much luck!

They haven't sent you a copy?? My interview date was set on Oct 11, 2013 and on 11/05/13 I received a copy of packet 4.. It's basically the same packet my fiancé received in DR and that should serve as proof.

How can something so important be down?! Seriously this shouldn't happen!

then you'll be connected to visa specialist and they will tell you
I second that!!! DOS is who's best to contact. They are pretty nice when you call and will have your appointment date as soon as it's scheduled. No need to wait for a response and you can call everyday and waiting times are no more than 2 minutes. My interview was scheduled on 10/11/13 and that same morning at 9am I called and DOS provided me with my appt date. The rep literally told me you were just assigned your interview!

DR is a must!! If not you will get a slip for your fiance to go in when s/he is able to travel to DR.
-
that just means that soon you will have you appointment date!
-
Help! Ours is not showing up on this list and it's the 18th!! Should I confirm this with someone? Do I email/call??
Definitely email them and confirm your date!
-
does she know that the interview can be within 3 to 4 months??? I mean it will fly by. I know it's hard a heck because we are all on the same boat and know how difficult this is. I've personally had bumps due to the distance and always smooth things out. If you honestly think she is in love with you and you're in love too, try to work it out. Don't allow anything to break the relationship!
-
wouldn't that be like a priority thing??? Think about how many people would do that and all the raucous it would cause.

Got my interview date today. Feb. 26
Congrats!!
-
of course he can open it! What the friend was speaking of was a packet you receive after the interview which is handed over at POE...
-
You do receive a letter by mail with the case number after it has been assigned. You can just know the number sooner by calling. If you have the patience you can wait for it.

My file was received in DR on 09/19/13 and I didn't get an appointment until 10/11/13.. It took almost a month for them to assign one and it's scheduled for January 2014! That list was killing me because it hadn't been updated for like two months. It has been updated now and it shows all of us who received our appointments for January. The norm is for it to be updated once a month but with the new facility slowing things down I'm not sure how they are moving now.
-
Why would you be afraid of contacting them? The call doesn't cost you any money. So call! I can't stop telling Santo Domingo people that because I called is how we found out the interview date because my fiancé never received the "packet" or notice of the interview. Call!!!
Most definitely!!! It's free and you have every right to call as many times as you like. I seriously called every morning and every evening before their close. No one ever said anything to me nor got rude.
-
a week should be enough time to start calling. Also the expiration date doesn't really matter I guess it's a tentative thing. It is automatically extended so that's not something you need to worry about.

-
realistically you can begin calling NVC about 7-10 days after you are approved. Hopefully they will have a case number assigned.
-
I decided to look at the list today which I hadn't done since October 11th (that's when I called DOS and the gentleman informed me of my interview date) and it has new dates on it!! It was finally touched. I looked for my date and there it is set in stone. I already knew it but it's nice to see it lol.
-
Yes I agree! DOS CSR is very very helpful...Trying to contact the consulate is tiring!
Is this on the ceac.state.gov site?
Yes the ceac.state.gov!!!

One side is about one parent (you) the other side about the other (father) on question 19 you mark an X on yes for the father being that he is a US citizen and a X for no for you.
-
Also your case status gets updated before you get your date set up. After it gets sent to DR it changed twice that second status update (new date) is an indicator that you have been scheduled.
Visa Approved!!
