HunnyBunny got a reaction from Prince Ali in From where to get Police clearance certificate In India for K1 Visa?
Procedure for applying PCC - (My personal experience)
Log into site http://www.passportindia.gov.in Register through the Passport Seva Portal. (Click on "Register" link under the Online Application Filling section on the Home Page). Login to the Passport Seva Portal with the User ID created as above Click "Apply for Police Clearance Certificate" link. Fill in the required details in the form and submit. Choose Alternative 1 After filling in all the details, VALIDATE & SAVE it on your DESKTOP (its easier to upload later on) Go to Alternative 1 again & select "Click here to upload the form" & upload the file you have saved on your desktop Then go to Applicant Home page. Select "View Saved/Submitted Applications" Select the saved application & take a printout of Application Receipt Now with this printout you just have to walk into your nearest Passport office or Passport Seva Kendra during 9am to 11am ONLY. Take the token number & just follow the instructions. I was amazed to see the smooth process without any confusion at the Passport Seva Kendra. My nearest point was Hubli, Karnataka.
Documents you need to carry is just a photocopy of your passport with your signature & your original Passport. The fee is Rs. 500 & has to be paid at the passport office only. Just walk in with this preparation, rest they will take care of. I had taken a copy of my NOA2 letter, but they didn't even bother to see that. I hope it helps.

HunnyBunny reacted to zeal4thil in Renunciation application
VFS Changed the Process Feb 3 it seems and only one label is getting printed now .They will print the return labels for OCI & US Passport Return .This has been confirmed by a phone call to their CSR by some one's experience and posted in another forum .I also got only one label and had the same questions and got this info .So go ahead and ship it .
Yes WE have to send the original US Passport (this is listed in the Checklist of VFS docs ) and Copy of all other docs including Renunciation as copy.

The very first thing you need to do is to fill a government renunciation application for at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/
When you fill and submit the renunciation application an Application Reference number is generated for you and you need to use that in rest of the process on VFS Global website.
A step by step guide is available for the entire process, from VFS GLobal, here https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/ind/apply-for-renunciation

HunnyBunny reacted to Jot18 in Surrender and Renunciation of Indian Citizenship Guide(Updated 25th Dec 2020)
This is a guide on surrendering your Indian Passport after becoming naturalized US Citizen.
Step 1: Click this Link and click register. After signing up check your email and activate your account and proceed to login.
Step 2: After you have logged in click on the link where it says “Apply for Surrender of Indian Passport - Application for Passport Surrender Certificate After Acquiring Foreign Nationality/Renunciation of Indian Citizenship”, and fill the form. After completing and form, check for corrections and click validate. Then click home and the form will appear on the home page. Print that form.
Step 3: Create an account on VFS website or Login in here. After you have logged in click “Create a new application” and fill out the form. After click proceed, you will have to fill out another form. ARN # is the number you should have got after completing the surrender passport application on govt of India website. I can’t go beyond this step, but I think after paying the fees you are given a checklist to mail with your application and a receipt for your payment. All the different type of checklists required can be found Link under documents required tab.
Note: There is one more additional form that you must fill out based on your checklist. Do not forget to include that. The form can found on the same page as the checklist. Read the checklist thoroughly before mailing.
I hope I cleared all the confusions. If there is anything else that someone would like to add please post below.

1. You need only one PCC that is issued from Passport office. They normally give you two copies. I got them without asking.
2. The PCC is required if you have stayed more than 6 months in any of the COUNTRY & not in different PARTS of the country. That means if you have stayed in any one country but in more than one places, only one PCC is required from that particular country. You need not get separate PCC for each STATE.
3. If your present address & address on the passport do not match, there is a possibility of some delay. And I am not aware of the procedure if the current address & address on the passport do not match. I hope this helps.

I have been reading a lot about PCC on this forum, so thought of sharing my personal experience here, which might help many. Because the procedure has to be same all over India.

HunnyBunny got a reaction from Barich in Waiting for NVC case number
My NOA2 is July 30 & my case has been dispatched from the service center on 15th of August. Haven't heard anything from NVC. I have written a mail & also tried to call 2-3 times but no luck. Patience & waiting these two things we learn very clearly in this process...that's for sure!!!

HunnyBunny reacted to UK-USA-K1 in Gathering for K-1 Visa packet
On the forms, you need to be sure to have both of your original signatures where they are required. I believe the Beneficiary only signs the G-325a form and the petitioner signs both the G-325a and the I-129F. Also, sometimes you can sneak through letters of intent with scanned copies, but since they need to mail you the original G-325a, I'd recommend having them mail you the letter of intent as well. Also I advise using blue ink to sign with black ink for the form so they don't mistake it for a copy if you sign in black ink.

HunnyBunny reacted to vazpayne19 in IMPORTANT QUESTION to all the Visa Journey Followers !
Hello! We are originally from Vermont Service Center with NOA1 of Dec18. Due to Vermont's slow processing of I129Fs they transferred loads of application from Dec-Mid January to Texas Service Center last May29. Most of us are already on 6months waiting mark and after 3weeks of training the adjudicators (bec texas doesn't process this forms) they are already approved lots from the first batch of transferees. Now they have been transferred the second batch which compose the End of January - February filers. I can say that Texas is more efficient than Vermont this time.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you're going to get a whole lot of help on this forum.
It's people like you that make this process so difficult for everyone else. Thanks for that!

Dude I would honestly get the hell out of that right now. If you are caught doing that, you could face time in prison.
Just tell her its off and cut your losses. Or go to prison and start a business with a guy named Brick,+
On another ANGRIER note. Its because of people like you doing like this that honest, real couples who are in love (aka me and my husband) have had to live in near poverty because the government makes such tight guidelines.
so eff you.
