  1. Hi klz, if it helps there are a fair few people still waiting for IL's, including me. I am so impatient and seeing others get their IL's makes me a little nervous that I have yet to get mine but it's out of our control, patience is a virtue, so the saying goes. Fingers crossed we start to get ours soon.

True my husband has been trying to keep me calm I'm really worried and seeing others get theirs get me worried too

  2. SO WAS YOUR AOS ACCEPTED ?

    No you don't technically speaking.

Lets say you are the wife who never worked, had an arrainged marriage, so you don't have any income you never filed any taxes. So you will use your father or someone else with sufficient income as the joint sponsor to get the AOS obligations met, however, you still have to file a i-864 for yourself since you are the primary sponsor. Now lets say you did have some income but you didn't pay your taxes for the past X number of years 1, 2, 3 ,etc and the IRS knows about it b/c you were paid by payroll or something as long as you owe any taxes, you can't file your own i-864 until they are paid in full. In that case they will require you send them your transcript. If you don't owe any taxes - you just have to include in your cover sheet the reason why. For instance I am a medical student, so I wrote that since I'm a medical student and don't have an income thats why I didn't file.

  3. It takes about 2.5 years at the moment for a spouse of a permanent resident to receive the visa. However, since we are subject to an annual quota, the wait can change at any time depending on the number of applicants - it used to be five years, now we are "lucky" to have to wait only half of that. You can follow changes in the wait times by reading the monthly Visa Bulletin (look at category F2A):

    Thanks alot

  4. Well the i-130 takes about 5months to be approved but latley its been taking 8 or more months for every one including citizens, but after the i-130 is approved it will take him a year or two to get the visa number since your not a citizen, the last i heard it took one person 4 years but that was five years ago...however if you become a citizen before he gets the visa you would just need to change your status on his papers and he will get the visa soon after...i hope im explaining this clear enough for you

Yes you have done a great job explaining thanks for your help

  5. No you dont have to change your name, changing your last name is your choice no one can make you married or not, but i must tell you that since your here on a green card it will take some time before he gets to live here, since he will have to wait on a visa number, only spouses of US citizen dont have to wait on a visa number.

THNAKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR REPLY.Do you have any idea of how long the process usually takes
