Charro got a reaction from Hamilton in Speeding ticket on N-400
I just had my interview (7-20) and though I put "no" on my application,  during the interview I felt I had to be honest and mention that I did get a ticket for those " on blinking red light after stop you can make a right turn". The police officer felt I didn't come to a complete stop. I disagreed but anyway I paid the ticket. That happened about 13 years ago. So I mentioned this to the interviewing officer and asked if I should have answered "yes " on the application. She said yes. So she crossed out my" no " answer , wrote yes and asked me for details , like when it happened , if I went to court , how much was ticket etc. I asked if this created a problem , she said no. So you should write down " yes" and there is a space below on that same page of the application where you can describe what happened and when and the cost of ticket and that it was paid. I would include a copy of payment , a copy of your driving record too and when you go to your interview take the same items. And yes I know that you aren't supposed to send in any documentation if ticket was less than $500 but I think it will just lend to a smoother interview etc.
    Good luck!!

Hi, I am a February 2017 filer from Brooklyn. Field office NYC.
Mailed application: 2-7-17, application was received 2-16-17 at Texas lockbox. I signed up for txt and email notifications.
Filed based on 5 yr residency.
Fingerprinting was scheduled for a March appt. in Brooklyn .I did early walk in a few days before my actual appointment date not because I wanted to push things along but because I knew I may have had a work conflict on my actual appt. day.  Did it on my lunch break in Manhattan  and just hoped for the best that they would do it. And they were nice enough to do it. They don't always allow this. I tried to go at a time when it may not have been too busy.
Was put in line for interview about 4-5 days later after fingerprinting appointment.
Got interview letter with interview appointment date 6-19-17.
Interview was on 7-20-17 at 26 Federal Plaza. Interview was quick and easy. Take 2 extra passport pics, just in case they request it.  6 days later I was put in line for the Oath Ceremony.
    Got oath ceremony letter 8-14-17.
Oath ceremony at Cadman Plaza 8-17.17.
Applied for passport book and card 8-17-17. at the Grand Army Plaza library in Brooklyn.( no appt needed) and during the week it is not busy at all.
    Got passport book 9-2-17
    Got passport card 9-5-17
Got naturalization certificate back fro passport agency 9-7-17.
I wrote down every step of this journey as I knew I may forget certain aspects and I wanted to remember every moment.
Hope this helps and good luck!

@BrianPeppers oh good it finally came! Excellent.
I just brought the notice with the questionnaire on the back filled out and my green card. I did not bring any other work authorization cards. Mainly because I didn't know where they were. The green card they will take from you at the ceremony.
Oh if you have the time apply for the passport  the same day. Yes you will have to send in your naturalization certificate with the application. I did mine at the Grand Army Plaza Library and they made a copy of the certificate which they gave to me and they kept the original to send with the application. Also , I know not many people do this but in addition to the passport book , I also applied for the passport card. It looks like the green card sort of. It's a good way to keep my proof of citizenship on me rather than carrying the actual certificate.
Best of luck at the ceremony!👍🏽

@BrianPeppers I was in a similar position as you are( I am also a NYC filer) My notice seemed to take longer than usual to arrive so I called uscis. I initially spoke with an L1 officer, I let her go through her routine then politely requested an L2 officer.  They take your number and inform you that someone will return the call in a specified time frame. Before that time was up I got the call from a uscis L2 officer. He was very helpful and was able to tell me that my oath ceremony was in 3 days! He faxed the letter over and I also got another call from someone confirming I got the fax. It was amazingly efficient and pleasant that experience. My notice interestingly actually came that same day in the mail but after that call. So it would be a good idea to call. I think they are even open on Saturdays. And I did call as soon as they opened too. Good luck!

@weakheart if you aren't far from the field office that conducted the interview maybe you could go with that letter and your photos to hand deliver them to the officer. Just a thought.

Hi @Anynonmus how did you get 5 years worth of transcripts ? When I went to get its.gov to request via mail , you could only get 3 years worth and same when I tried with getting the transcripts via online ? Am I missing something ? Thanks for any help you can offer. My last move was just to go to the IRS office and request them. But trying not to take more time off work to do that.

Hi i am no expert but If she has been a GC holder since 2004 wouldn't it be less involved / less paper work etc if she filed based on the 5 yr residency category ? She doesn't have to file under the "married to a US citizen " category .
