It's also a giant "NOPE" for me too! Will ONLY update when they do IN-PERSON services. Given the fact that I almost had a heart attack because my Naturalization Certificate didn't show up until 5 weeks later after my passport arrival, plus there are a few others in this forum still painfully waiting for their passports and NCs, I've learned my lesson to NEVER risk sending any of my original citizenship documents by mail! Nope nope!

Correct. Put the date of the NOA, not the date when you received it.
In our case, within a week.

Driver's Ed might be a good idea. For the written test, there are sample tests in the internet which he can practice on so he'd gain more confidence. I did those to prepare myself. The practice tests in the internet were actually more challenging and detailed than the actual. And there are tons of videos in YouTube that could give him tips in passing the behind-the-wheel test.
What are his other fields of interests? Widening his horizon won't hurt. I'm 44 and I took some online courses, and I'm glad at my age I was still able to learn a new thing or two.

M and C got a reaction from Stevious in K1 Does Immigrant need to get name change on PI passport to return from visit to America showing new married name?
If she intends to travel in January, purchase her ticket under her current passport name (hence her maiden name). Just let her bring her AP and marriage certificate during travel.
I used my AP last year. Traveled with my Philippine passport and plane ticket still under my maiden name. Had no problems at POE (LAX), only a couple more minutes of further processing in a holding room where they had to verify my status with DHS/USCIS. (They did not even ask to see my marriage certificate). But I guess that's SOP. The wait could be nerve-wracking though, because in the same room there were people who were also being deported.
She can do the report of marriage and passport ammendment later. It takes about 6-8 weeks to process that. Your wife could still opt to do those now and wait for the new passport before purchasing the ticket, but then that would be too close to her intended travel date.

As a Filipino MD myself, I would have to agree on this. In the Philippine setting, there would be a higher index of suspicion on a probable case of TB since it is common there -- hence it would be "TB until proven otherwise". This is what infection control is all about. We would want the disease to be contained and eradicated, if possible, in where it is and prevent further spread. As one of my mentors said, "it is better to err on the safe side."

Done with ROM, renewal of passport, and registration for absentee voting. Took me about an hour. Folks at the Consulate were efficient and friendly.
There's a room on the same floor down the hallway where you can get your photos taken. $12 per 4 pieces. Just tell the Manong you need photos for ROM. They cut the photo to the required size. Also, make 5 copies of your birth and marriage certificate (instead of 4) if you are also applying for a passport. If you have those ready before you go to the Consulate, you will only have to make a copy of the approved ROM form with the Consulate seal. 50 cents per copy, which you can also get from the photo shop.

In California, one may apply for a driver's license with your EAD. That's what I did. I think it's the same as in Michigan. Check this out:

For whatever it's worth, there's a quote that says, "There are no shortcuts to any place worth going -- Beverly Sills." Hang in there, it's a process we all went through, some are still going through, and some haven't even started yet. You'll get there. The journey matters, too, not just the destination.

Prayer. It helped us a lot when my fiancé (now my husband) and I were still apart. We also made a conscious effort not to make any decisions in the heat of the moment. We usually waited until things started to simmer down, then talk about the issue in a calm manner. Bottom line, prayers helped a lot -- when we start to argue or be in conflict, we step aside to pray. It gave both of us a whole lot of different perspective so when we get back together and talk, we both were (we still do that now especially as a married couple) calm and ready to talk things through lovingly and peacefully.
